I usually do it on the last night. I am also spoiled by our timeshare we have the laundry unit there and can just throw it in whenever we need to.The last cruise we took some guy accused me of stealing his bathing suit. It was just me and him at the beginning then i left and when i came back he starts yelling at me " HEY I THINK U HAVE MY BATHING SUIT IN THERE" i respond by waving my sons bathing suit at him and say i certainly hope this little pokeman suit isn't yours that would be really sad. He says nothing and storms off. I think i am a nut magnet. Crazy people seem to just seek me out...lol

When we stay at DVC - we get the studio - so, no washer/dryer. At our off property timeshare we have the washer/dryer in the room it is so great! Like you said, put it in whenever - and not have to worry about the nuts! LOL I had one lady waiting with me - there was like a few mins in my machine, and one of the others stopped, but the person didn't come back yet, she took their clothes out and left them on the side - they were WET! she just left them on that side table - I thought that was pretty rude. But, it does make me 'on the ball' w/the timer, I don't want anyone handle my undies!! :scared1:

I really think DCL should adapt the WDW photopass - that would be great to be able to buy an entire disk of all your pics when you get home, and not have to worry about the whole picture thing on board...

I agree, I would love to have the photopass, maybe one they'll introduce it

18 years, that's a lifetime! LOL This October we will be married 13 years - and that seems like a LONG time!!

You are all going to laugh at me - I am the fool doing laundry on the trip to go home w/clean stuff!! :rotfl2:

On October 29th, it'll be mine & Paul's 20th wedding anniversary. I had hoped to do a vow renewal on the Disney Wonder this Summer - but I'll probably have to hold on till my 25th

It is snowing here in NJ today - :scared1: Hope it doesn't continue - I have a LONG commute home...

Take it easy on the way home Laurie and I hope the snow isn't too bad

Sometimes it feels like a life sentence(just kidding)

I also do laundry on the last night so we pack only clean clothes...lol i guess we will be doing it together on the last night:rotfl: :laundy:

LOL, Paul always say that he would've been let out of prison long before now, if he'd bumped me off in our early days :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I have only ever once done washing on the ship, it was on our first Cruise, and I felt that I was missing out on too much sunbathing/Bahama Mama/chilling time, and I vowed never to do it on there again. I'll probably do some the day before we board and again at the Hard Rock Hotel (though I haven't got a clue where the laundry is there)

Mandy -

Our Anniversary is Oct. 28th - We were on the Magic the week after our 10th, and wanted to renew - well, wait, let me rephrase that, I wanted to do it, but DH wouldn't go for it - he thought it was 'corny' - typical man!! But, it was a bit on the pricey side as well!

The funny thing is that I want to renew our vows on the Disney Wonder, but I wouldn't be bothered to do it at home - I just think it would be so special to do it there - and just with my girls too :)

The only cruise we've done laundry on was the Mediterranean cruise. We did it mid- trip at night and it was still busy. We sat there and waited on it while the boys were in the club/lab. We put all of our clothes in an empty washer and added the soap--to find out it didn't work. There were 2 others out of order. We waited for the guys sitting there with us to finish their loads and then finally got a washer that worked. When we put them in the dryers, the fuse tripped and we had to call guest services to have someone come reset them. It took about 3 hours to do 2 loads. We won't be doing laundry on our 4 day cruises. I'm bringing Tide sink packets to rinse out our swim suits. We'll bring 2 or 3 each since we'll also be swimming at the resort/water parks before/after the cruise. Our first 4 day cruise I think I packed 10 days worth of clothes. I've really gotten good at scaling down our luggage. We each have a rolling duffle bag, a formal wear/dinner wear bag to share and a snorkel gear/souvenir bag. We could probably fit the boys stuff in one bag, but then we'd get close to the airline weight limit, so we each bring one and they fit under the bed really easy. We will bring the kids one dress shirt/polo per night with 2 pair of khakis. They'll take them off as soon as dinner is over. If one pair of khakis gets too dirty to wear again, we'll send it to the cleaners on board. They get an outfit a day of their regular clothes, 2 pair of pajamas and 2 or 3 swim suits. They each have a pirate costume that they will also wear to dinner so they won't need a polo/khaki outfit that night. When we cruised in December we stayed at a one bedroom villa at the Wilderness Lodge and did laundry each day. The next few trips we are staying in a studio at AKV and will not be doing laundry unless absolutely necessary. We'll have an extra suitcase just for when we are at the resorts and leave it in the rental vehicle at the port.

Another tip I have is to buy something you really want when you first see it because they do sell out and don't sell DCL stuff at the parks.

Danielle - How wonderful to have taken the Mediterranean Cruise last year, did you do a trip report ? I would love to read it. What were your highlights of Europe ?

Safe drive home laurie

Hi everyone!!! I've just spent a few minutes catching up. Sounds like everyone had a great weekend:goodvibes well being huge Giants fans you can imagine our Superbowl party was awesome:thumbsup2 It wasn't fun getting up for work and school this morning though ugh cranky city!!!!

I would second all the great tips you guys have written. Especially getting to the port early and wearing your bathing suit under your clothes. You get a good two hours of the pools without all the crowds. My kids enjoy the slide and pools the most the first day!!

Our first cruise we took the wrong exit and got lost...lol we were driving along fine and then hubby missed where u go to the cruises and cape canaveral. So i am like isn't that the cruise bus going down the other exit? so we had to drive like 12 miles out of the way before we could turn around and then it opens up to a toll booth where no one was there. So i got out lifted the arm and we just drove on down the rode hoping no police were coming after us...lol So we didn't finally get onboard until 1:30 just in time for lunch at parrot cay. I will be glad to get there early this time and enjoy the ship more before the muster drill.

I'm so pleased that your Superbowl party went well Suzanne, I take it that the Giants won ? I don't know much about American Football, so I didn't watch it, though I have seen some of the commercials that were shown during the Superbowl on E News which looked fun

I can just picture driving down the road now "look kids there's the ship" ohh we're getting closer" oh look kids there goes the ship back there" oops:lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Austin was freaking out that we better drive faster or we were going to miss the ship.(so was mommy) I managed to not show it though..lol When we were in nassau he did the same thing every half hour he would be freaking out we should go back or the ship would leave us in the bahamas.

Thats the exact reason why we bring the GPS everywhere. Its not very big to pack and its a life saver (plus it was lots of fun using it during the cruise watching the arrow in the middle of the ocean with islands going by). Luckily I don't have to have the job of navigator in the car any more!

I just gave him a gps for his birthday because of this instance...lol I stepped down as navigator.

Thanks for ALL of the great tips! I printed them and stuck them in my passporter!

I think we should have mandatory 3 day weekends! I don't have enough time on school nights to catch up!:dance3:

Hope you all have a good one!
