2008, 24th/28th Aug - *Double Dipping with the Bahama Mamas* (Part 2)

We had some excitement earlier...our dog got stuck under our deck. She's a beagle and always chasing bunnies underneath it...she got 2 bunnies just this week but doesn't do anything with them once she gets them. Anyhow, she ws totally wedged under the supports and wouldn't budge forward or backwards. I had to get a shovel and dig in front of her to make a hole to get her out. We even thought of calling the fire department if that didn't work. Luckily, I could use my hands to dig close to her body (I was afraid the shovel would hurt her) and managed to free her. It totally scared the heck out of us. I wound up with lots of scratches from the barberry bushes all over my arms and legs, but they'll heal fine. I'm just glad she wasn't stuck in the middle of the deck. She ran right to me and I could tell she was so grateful. Thank goodness we noticed after she'd been out a half hour outside or she may have been a lot worse off. Our deck's only a foot off the ground and I always wondered how she fit under there. Looks like we'll be buying some lattice to put under it to keep her and the bunnies away!

Mandy, I haven't even gone through my little WDW folder since I got home. It's got all of the resort paperwork/maps/momentos I use for scrapbooking and the KTTW and Photopass cards. I didn't get very many taken--maybe around 5. I have the same camera the photopass CM's use (actually I have the next level up) and mine usually turn out better. I always have them take a picture with my camera after getting a photopass picture. A lot of the time they'll switch the buttons to get the optimum settings for the pictures. I don't know how to use most of the buttons so I keep it on auto.

My finger went from an 11 on the pain scale to a 7 today ..so i guess it is getting better. I am dreading work tonight...

Well girls, I've not long got off the phone to the WDTC and I've booked a preferred location room for our stay at the Caribbean Beach Resort, so that we can be close to the food court etc. 7 weeks tonight we will be staying the night at Manchester Airport before our flight to WDW the next morning - woohoo !! I can't wait

Anyway, Paul & I are heading to the wine bar for a drinky-poo or two, have a great afternoon/evening everyone

Alright - SO I am on BEFORE Mandy???

I am up - it's 3:43 am - I am NOT happy!! I went to bed EARLY - I was so tired, I was up at 12:40 w/a 'sick' kid... he went back to bed - then the tap dancing dog had to go out w/the nails on the wood floor - back and forth. So, he went out - then the puppy started barking at 3 am - so - here I am!! UGHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I am still on my cleaning mission here today - not sure how well I'll be functioning later today though - I am HOPING to try to go back to sleep! But, today - my tasks are going to be the boys bedrooms - stripping beds and dusting, cleaning out under beds, fun stuff like that!! Then a quick once-over on the main floor - our friends (Toni and Scott from up north) are coming today, not sure if we are going to BBQ or go out to dinner (depends on how I am feeling later, I need to foodshop and prep food for a bbq - not feeling like that is going to happen today) - so, I am leaning towards going out!!! Then, we are taking all of the boys to a double feature at the Drive-in - so, that'll be fun! This weekend they have "Wall-E" and "Get Smart" - I LOVE the Rock - so, I'll see anything that he is in!! LOL

Tomorrow we have a Bday party to go to (Ant's best bud, Brendan) - and Carm is working, so, it's me and the boys!

Monday I am working - and Anthony starts basketball camp, and a summer basketball league - so, that should be fun! (and maybe he won't be bored for a whole week! LOL)

Sorry for my rambling - this is what happens when I am up at this time of the morning!!!! Now I am going to see if I can catch up -

I'm sorry I've been missing again. Its just been such a crazy few days. Tom is away on business (in Florida without me )and my kids don't want to sleep (Emily is in a big girl bed now )! Luckily tomorrow is Bryan's last day of school so hopefully things will calm down. I have lots of pages to catch up on but that will be my homework tomorrow

Can I just tell you guys how ANNOYED I am today.. I woke up on the wrong side of the bed... Today is Mark's last day of school and he is going to party with some friends... Ok.. fine, but there are still things that have to get done... Baths, dinner.... etc... I may as well be a single parent...

Look at this girls. I received a package this morning from the Walt Disney Travel Company, apparently it was a promotion that was going on when I booked our Caribbean Beach/Free Dining reservation (I didn't realise that there was a promotion on)

Jen, I'm on my own every other week when Derek's on 2-12 so I can empathize with you.

You all have inspired me to do some more cleaning! I try and tackle a different room/task each day of the week. Today it was cleaning all of the downstairs hard wood and kitchen floors. I had 4 boys here most of the day the last 2 days and it's amazing what a mess they can make on flooring!

I have to do payroll today so I better get moving. I hope you all have a great day!

Laurie, I want to thank you for the inspiration to strip all the beds yesturday....i bashed my nail against the wall changing my bed and i think i tore off my real nail from the acrylic... the whole thumb is puffy, and i can't move it or touch it without crying like a baby. Did u feel my pain when it happened? They say twins feel each others pain....

Jeff made me a splint out of popsticks..lol..so i won't bang it or move it.I refuse to go to the doctor..i am a whimp..it will hurt...

So my day is not going to have cleaning in it at all...just a lot of whining..i am on my last hydrocodone pill now..in 4 hours i will be crying again..

Alright - so, I told Michele this already - but, I also had a cleaning causualty (sp?) the other day - I was cleaning the window and blinds in the spare room on Thursday - and hopped off the bed and whacked my hand on the MOVING ceiling fan - UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Talk about painful! I hit my 4 fingers (not the thumb) it was between the knuckles - thank God otherwise I probably would've broken all of them... They are bruised and sore, but my 'wonderful children' moved quickly downstairs for some ice - they are so good to me! LOL So - the moral of the story here is - cleaning is bad for your health!

Hey Laurie, have fun in the office with the boys today. I've had enough of dieting too I'd love to think that I wouldn't stress about my weight over the next 7 weeks, but I know I will. I can't wait to be let lose on Chicken Strips, Pineapple Floats, Funnel Cakes and then all that fantastic Disney Wonder food

Well I've had a great day today. Me and Becky took the train to Birmingham, and we arrived just before 9am. We went for a nice big breakfast and then hit the shops. She did really well. I got her some black dressy shorts, a cute going out top, some black wedge shoes and a Heffalump glass She bought herself a t-shirt for a party she's going to tomorrow night, I bought Kerry a belt that she's been after for ages, and then I got some Pirate accessories from Claire's for Pirate Night

We got the train home around lunch time, and when we got off, we went to a Chinese all you can eat buffet

I then took her for her guitar lesson and when I got home I put pink streaks in her hair and black underneath

Finally I sat down 5 minutes ago, and I'm now looking forward to a nice cuppa tea

The boys were pretty good at work yesterday - not too much complaining! We left by 1ish to head out for haircuts and off to sit in traffic going home! That was NOT fun!!

All of that yummy Disney food - you are making me HUNGRY! Oh, I forgot to tell you, in all of my cleaning, I found a magazine from christmas time - anyway, they had some 'disney' recipes in it - and they have the recipe for the tie-dyed cheesecake if anyone is interested!

Sounds like you had a productive shopping day - and all of your yummy meals! LOL

OMG - poor puppy!! I know I would probably be frantic if that happened to our dogs - and then I would want to kill the thing! LOL We have lattice around our deck so they can't get under.. we also have baby bunnies and it totally gets the dogs NUTS - they sniff, sniff, sniff the deck - just trying to get the scent - but, they are trapped - we have a fence w/a gate by their run, so they can't run the whole yard (this way they are contained w/their poop!) - anyway, the bunnies never hang out in their area - they seem to tease the dogs from the other side of the fence! LOL Anyway - glad your dog is OK!

Due to my shopping day with Becky yesterday, I didn't do my grocery shopping, so when I got up this morning, I went straight to the supermarket - so I'm glad that's out of the way

Well today is finally the last day of baseball We have our last game at 1:30 and closing ceremonies at 4. Ian doesn't have camp until the end of July and first week of August. Tori has returned two work applications and has two more to return.

I'm FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! I helped Mark's mom clean a camp this morning and I will be doing it every Sat for a month.. 20 bucks an hour for a 5 hour min. means more SPA money!!!!

Em'd blood sugar went wacky again this morning.. Why not? Her EEG from a couple of weeks ago came back abnormal.. She is not having seizures but is having spikes which could be a result of an infection or more likely an inborn error of metabolism... Her muscle tissue went to the Center for inherited energy metabolism disorders in Cleveland..

Someday we will figure this out!

The kids were working in the back and jeff was cleaning the truck and car i was vacuuming...big mistake there...i banged my thumb while vacuuming the truck and cried like a baby for 20 minutes in the driveway. Needless to say i was done cleaning. As soon as i went in so did the kids..jeff went back to being pissy...oh well too bad.

Then the real fun started..austin had to go to his friends at 12,sarah had a pool party at 1:30.nicole had a party at 2. At 3 i had to pick austin back up and at 6 i can pick up the girls before i go to work..woohoo.Where is jeff u r all thinking? Sleeping of course...lol..

Sandy - Dr. Who was fantastic, and it finished on a real "No !! You can't leave it like that" moment I can't wait for next week, it was brilliant having the Torchwood Team, Martha, Rose and Sarah Jane in it - you'll love it

Hey every one!

We had a big scare here this week. On Wednesday, my mother in law ( the one taking us on the cruise and to Disney at Christmas) was driving home from work which is only a couple of miles, felt really dizzy and sick, so she pulled over about 3 blocks from home and called her husband. He took her home and called the doctor who told them to get right to the ER. It turned out that she was having a heart attack! They took her to the cath lab and put a stent in Wednesday afternoon and then they did some more angioplasty on Friday. she is now doing well and we hope she comes home on Sunday. She asked the Doctor if she can still go on the cruise and he said no, he was going to go in her place I think she would probably have slugged him if she could have!! He apparently is a DVC member also ( I'm sure he can afford it!) So if all goes well with the testing today, she will be home tomorrow and should be good to go for the cruise.

She is so adored by my children ( well, actually all of us), I can't imagine losing her!

On other news, we celebrated our 21st anniversary tonight at Red Lobster ( one day late), it was not nearly as good as last year when we were on the Disney Wonder!!!! But still nice.

Danielle, when is Keegan's baseball in Pottstown, I think you said July??

We may try to get to get to Cape May NJ for a day trip this week.

What is everyone doing for the Fourth of July. We may go to Philadelphia for the day, big parade and great fireworks!
