2007 Transatlantic and First Med cruises thread

Yes that was us!

Eric and Jason - yes, we will be on the same cruises up to and in Alaska! There are 2 threads, both very active. (Sorry, I am computer illiterate so I cannot post the link).

Hadley - good to hear you all are having fun in Germany! I am sorry that it looks like we will not be in your neck of the woods when we get to Europe next summer.

The AbD trip to Peru was great! We are glad we did the adults only trip, we got to do some things they do not do with the kids - like eating cuy (guinea pig). The guides did a great job of explaining the culture and customs of the area. We are already starting to plan our next trip - not sure where yet - probably Galapagos.

Have a great day all!

Hey Lynn,

Yes we are on those threads, too....just not all that active the last week or 2 cuz life is so crazy right now. (My agency is in the middle of a very large merger and we're moving out of our current space into a new space this month so we're up to our eyeballs in boxes and restructuring and new org charts and new policies, etc.)

Good luck on the move/merger!

Lynn - so glad to hear that you had a wonderful time in Peru even though you ate my fave pet of all time - the guinea pig! We had our little guy for 7 years before he died. I know the kids would not have liked that! Hope everything is going well with the merger.

Kelly - I will check out the website today! Hope everyone else is well.

We did learn that the family trips do not eat guinea pig, they do not even talk about it being a food source in Peru. We were on an adults only trip.

Oh Lynn, I am sure. When we bought our Munchie, we looked up all about Peru and the Guinea Pigs. I might be mistaken, but I think there are thousands of them there and they look at it like we eat chicken. It is not a pet. I understand and hope it sounded that way. My friend's mom just got back from doing Peru on her own and she said it was a little much because of all the physical activity she had. Did you have a lot of physical activity - climbing, etc.

My father is in Peru on a mission trip right now and my mother just emailed me last night that he ate his first guinea pig the other day! :lmao: How ironic!

Just dropping in to say hello. It was really nice to see all the familiar faces still here. We are still booked for the WBTA with 6 of the kids--two will be in college--and looking forward to it. Going to Disneyworld Nov 1st with our exchange student from Germany. She is here the whole school year and is a really nice addition to our family.

Scott is working again as a consultant. it's nice to have a paycheck!

Katey is in college and is doing the College program at WDW starting in Jan. She is very excited, doing custodial, which they saaaay has the highest customer interaction, as they help people find things and aren't stuck in a kitchen or hotel or by one single ride. I think it will be great for her.

Glad to hear everyone seems happy!

D'Ann - great to hear your update, glad to hear that Scott got a job! Hope you have a great time at WDW - we will just miss you, we are leaving for home Sat!

D'Ann - I wish we could have met up at WDW. I would have loved to catch up. We just saw Eric & Jason and the Barth family last week and it is fun to reminisce and chat. We are doing well and we did the Epcot Scavenger Hunt about 3 weeks ago and we came in 3rd Place! It was so much fun, but very exhausting. We started out with breakfast at 7:30 and the awards were at 10:00 PM! We will do it again next year. We don't know what cruise we are taking - if any. The cutbacks at Darrell's hospital might be that vacation needs to be taken every month for 2days only - no accruing. I don't know why, it is something with the budget. I am sad, but there is always the following year or even The Dream! Hope everyone is doing well.

With Katey working there until August, I'm sure we'll be down again. Katey, Sarah and I are taking a 3 day cruise beginning January 14th. Last minute, kind of a consolation prize for missing the TA next Sept. Marriage is iffy at the moment, so who knows if that will even come through. We have said, though, even if the marriage doesn't work, we will make the cruise work. :thumbsup2
