2007 Swap Calendar

I am interested in hosting a year round swap like the one I saw listed from a previous year in the same type groups and have them be topper plus two elements.This is what I had in mind for setting up groups for a year round swap:
Spring
- General Spring
- St. Patrick's Day
- Easter
- Mother's Day
- April Showers Bring May Flowers

Summer
- General Summer
- Father's Day
- Fourth of July
- Vacation
- General birthday


Fall
- General Fall
- Labor Day
- Back to School
- Halloween
- Thanksgiving

Winter
- General Winter
- Christmas Eve
- Christmas
- New Year
- Valentines Day

If you had a spot in each group, it would get you an album done.

Multiple groups could be added. It would be a topper pllus one or two elements....



I am open to whenever.....sooner the beter once this table is cleared off this week.

Sure! We can do that. I would like to be able to mail out so that people can get the holiday recipes before Thanksgiving. We are thinking all holidays, not just Thanksgiving and Christmas. Have people do recipes that they traditionally have for Easter, 4th of July, Valentine's Day, etc., whatever there would be an interest for. Maybe a cookie exchange category would be there too.

I was actually thinking maybe doing it by category of foods. Two ideas are:
1.) all appetizers in group 1, all desserts in group 2, all main dishes, etc. or 2.)one or two appetizers, one or two main dishes, one or two soups, one or two desserts in each group that way everybody would have sort of complete meals no matter what group they were in.

EDIT: or maybe combine the two ideas? have a few groups of idea #1 and a few groups of idea #2 all in the same swap?

Vicki and PIT, combine these 2 ideas for the recipe swap. You can do this one of 2 ways, one huge swap or 4 smaller swaps by season, in spring do summer, summer do fall etc That way the swap is complete and returned before the upcoming season.
We'll table the Disney recipe for now, but you will be first in line for hosting rights in the new year.

Maybe for character swaps there could be a list of characters and people could choose from the characters. There are some of them that are out all the time but you don't see them in swaps ..... like that Fowl fellow (sp) cat and the other one he is friends with......just an idea.

I am planning on revamping the character swap into groups, As I was going through all my character things I found alot I had major amounts of and some very little. So when I do the groups I will make sure that there are groups of the missing characters as well as those more popular. I will compile a list of characters, so if anyone has a character they want to make sure is covered please PM me and I will add it to the list.

I like having the groups of 6, it makes it manageable.

Okay....here I am so proud that this weekend I will only have the out of the park swap to do as the others will be out of here and mailed.

ok, so vickiv and I talked and we decided to do the quarterly swap. But would it be okay that with each season we also do seasonal holiday recipes? Like in winter, there are some really good, just everyday recipes not good for holidays, but also some really good Christmas, Thanksgiving (is that considered fall or winter?!) recipes, too. Like the scavenger hunt-it had two types of groups-homemade and storebought, we could do two groups, everyday and holiday for each season.

Maybe sign-ups starting Sept 17th with a due-date of Nov 3rd; we'd swap and mail out by Nov 8th, which means everything should arrive back by the 15th, which is one week before Thanksgiving. That allows about 5 days for sign-ups (or however is usuall) then 6 six weeks to actually work and arrive in the mail. Let me know, and TIA

just passing through. Life has been difficult here (car accident, 1 minor injury) but I will get you on the calendar, I promise. Just keep reminding me. Hopefully things will be better by this weekend.

no there is no sign up date yet. We haven't decided a sign up date.

As long as I haven't missed it! I found a set of recipe cards I picked up on holiday in Belgium which came in a CD case so I've got the case all ready, which was what prompted me to look.

Hey Buffy - can we move my seaworld/uo signup to the 9th? I have a presentation to my cfo on the 7th and don't think it would be a good idea to be taking signups for my first hosting that day

DS has some football stuff both 8th and 9th so I think the 9th is better for me and I'll put a relative time out there for signups when I have a better idea what time I'll be in front of the puter!
