2007 Member Cruise call in - Who got picked?

For some reason DH put in our name for the 1st time cruisers lottery for the 2007 member cruise. (Let's not start the discussion on how this lottery is wrong please).

I don't know why he put our name in because we are already going on a cruise in September.

So, it just figures....we got picked, the email from MS just came in. I need to call them tomorrow and tell them to pick someone else. But just wondering, who else got picked?

If anyone is curious what the email said let me know and I will post it. One interesting thing...they are not having people call them, the letter said they would call us. We will be at WDW on the call date anyway so I really need to make sure they know to pick someone else.

OK. I got picked, too. How much can I expect to pay for a Category 5 or 6 room? One with a nice balcony. The same price as a similar 4 night cruise? Or is it more? We won't use points -- if we decide to go.

My first thought when i saw the email was I should give someone my call in since we are not going to use it. However the email says they will be calling us. Here is what the email said:


Congratulations! You’ve been randomly selected to book a stateroom aboard the Disney Vacation Club S.S. Member Cruise 2007 on Saturday, December 2, 2006. Your random group assignment on that date will be Group C. A Member Services Cast Member will be contacting you by phone, at the number you provided on your Reservation Selection Process profile, between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm EST.

During that time, please be prepared with the home addresses and birthdates of all passengers in your party. Available staterooms may be limited, so please have first, second, and third choices for stateroom categories. There is a limit of two staterooms per Member household. Please note: Member Services can only confirm a reservation by speaking with an individual listed on your Membership, so please make sure a Purchaser, Co-Purchaser, or Associate listed on the Membership is available.

If you are unable to be contacted between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm EST at the number(s) you provided on your profile, you will not be able to book a reservation on Saturday, December 2, 2006. However, you’re welcome to try and make a stateroom reservation (on a first-call, first-served basis, while availability lasts) by calling Member Services at (800) ******** or (407) ******** beginning at 9:00 am EST on Saturday, December 9, 2006.

Personally speaking, I'd hate to use points for a DCL cruise.
I think just out right paying for it is a much better deal

I got picked. I knew I would! WHY ? Because I'm no longer interested in the DVC cruise. Once they announced the cash prices, I said no way and booked a 7 night instead (for about the same amount of money - for the same week in October!). I knew it. They should have posted cash prices when they made the announcement.

Same situation with us!! Too expensive, oh well, hope our turning down the offer lets someone who wants to go now. Looks like we'll be doing a 7 day too.

We didn't get picked either. I am bummer. We have done the Magic three times. i was looking forward to going on the Wonder with 2 days at CC. Oh well I will try on the 9th.
