2007 DVC Member Cruise - SSMC07 - October 21, 2007

I hate to say it but my excitement meter is only at about a 3...way too much going on at work. I am in the last 3 weeks of a 6 month long business trip, so my excitement is more for going finally home.

I just found out that the shuttle launch on 10/20 that we were coming a day early to catch has been postponed :sad1: until 10/23. On the positive side, we may just go to the world and join in at the pre-cruise party.

Sorry to hear about the shuttle launch you wanted to see but coming to the get together is not a bad alternative.Im sure when we are on the cruise you can get a view of the space ship going up.A few years back I watched it from the beach Club pool.

I can feel your pain that you just want to wake up in your own bed for a few days.Im sure after your back it will have a little more life to the cruise meter.

I have been having trouble with my left knee for over a month and this week it swelled up and it was very tender on the outer side. The doctor is sending me for a MRI on tuesday for a torn meniscus.I want to get it out of the way so im okay for the cruise. The last thing I want is to be unable to walk around and swim at castaway cay.my friends picked me up last night and took me over to the american legion to start my rehab with 75 cents beers all night. They also had a 8 dollar buffet so it was a good night.Alot of my fellow members showed up and it was karaoke night and it was very funny:rotfl2: .

My countdown clock is down to 40 days

tiggerguy :thumbsup2

Good luck hope you feel better soon but it might not be in time for your cruise. I had a meniscus tear repaired last year and I was in rehab for 3 months. I've now got some sort of nerve thing going on with it now, can't kneel down on it. Argh!
Hope yours is just some sort of inflamation that will go down with meds.

I hope your knee is going to be okay. I'm sure that .75 cent beer will help!! How come I don't know of any place here that has great specials like that. Hope every one has a great weekend.

Oh my-- it's been so busy here that I just saw the latest update to the Member Cruise page, The Legends Ball sounds exciting! I see that the details include "Then in the evening, honor Disney's greatest contributors at our Legends Ball. This elegant affair promises to sparkle so don your finest gowns and formal wear and join us in the ship's atrium. "

We've never done a cruise with a formal night. Does anyone know if renting a tux with DCL is fairly straightforward? I suppose I'd better go find myself a dress, too.princess:

Good morning Member Cruisers!

Good morning all,

It's nice to see some more folfs posting as we get closer. 6 weeks wow....

I don't want to sound like a broken record, but in two weeks I will have to send in the dining list. So if there is any one out there that wants to be linked up please let me know. I have to tell them 4 weeks out.

Have a great Sunday..

Yes good morning everyone and 6 weeks sounds great
We thought after a undefeated soccer season last spring my daughter was going to hang up her cleats after 12 years but no we are starting another season today.Todays game is a traveling game almost 2 hours away so with my bad knee and knowing they will be going other places after the game im home alone. We won free tickets to Great Adventure amusement park from a radio station so on the way back they are thinking about going since its so close to my house. My middle daughter has her boyfriend with her so i gave him my ticket. The other american past time shopping is the other thing that all girls would do so Im not in the mall walking mode at this point.I need to save my legs for the cruise.

I hear the DVC president is coming to our meeting and giving away big prizes like a 100 point add-on for a year :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Hey it's nice to dream a dream

tiggerguy :thumbsup2 39 TO GO :yay:

Welcome to soccer reality. What traveling team does you daughter play for?
My DW thought (and so did I) that after I tore a ligament in my foot that I would stop referring soccer. I have been doing this for 25 years. However the referee assigner called Thursday and yes I am back doing traveling team referring starting this weekend. I work in the mid NJ region, mainly in the West Windsor area. Phil

Tiggerguy, enjoy you peace & quiet. I too have the house to myself. Took dh to the airport this am. He has a computer class in DC this week. So I did a little shopping on the way home, had a lean cuise for lunch, threw a load in the washing machine and now I am off to float in the pool. My goal for the week is to clean a different room every night. TV stinks still and I need to stay out of the kitchen.... still want to lose some in the next 6 weeks.

Enjoy your kids they grow up too fast!!!!!!!Good luck with the knee. Grew up in NY have been to Great Adventure and the shore many a times.

Have a great afternnon all..

Yes, the first time my DH needed a tux, we went to our local store, got his measurements and then called to DCL's tux place and rented. It was in our room ready and waiting when we arrived.

However, since then, I splurged and bought a tux on EBay. Was able to snag a brand new one for $99 from a guy who owns a tux business. It has been well worth it. We now just take it everytime we cruise and don't rent anymore. In addition, immediately when we get on the ship, I send out for pressing along with my dress so they are all ready to go on formal night.

Oh my hearing everyone talking about renting tuxes and wearing gowns has me afraid that we might be underdressed in shirt/tie and blouse/skirt. Is anyone else out there NOT doing the tux/gown?? Should we be looking into that option? What about children? Too late in the game to start stessing about things like this.

We've talked about it and we'll probably be doing dress pants/shirt/tie for Mark and dressy pants and a dressy sweater set for me. We've done the tux/formal dress route before on some of our cruises but this one is really more about relaxing for us.

We are not doing tuxes/gowns either.
For the men: slacks and maybe a sport jacket.
I am wearing a dress or dressy pantsuit.
Or we may just do our usual dinner attire - business casual - and just check out the happenings at the ball. This is one thing I am not stressing over! I'm not going to spend money on outfits we'll wear for a couple of hours at most! We don't cruise often so it doesn't make sense for us to invest in formalwear.
Listen, I'm sure DCL didn't do this event to make people feel stressed or nervous about their attire! When it comes down to it, it's just about having a great time and who cares what you're wearing!!?!?!?

Now - what's with the lack of updates on the web site?!?! I WANT MORE INFO!!!!

I wouldn't stress about it at all. Remember there will be over 2,000 guests on board and I can guarantee you that you will see everything from shorts and casual wear to those dressed up in formal attire. No matter what you wear, you will fit in! (unless of course you choose to wear your birthday suit, now that's another matter!)

Hi Phil,My daughter is now 18 and she plays for the Lacy Phoenix.Last year they where champions and she should have walked away on top but now they have all new girls and they got a butt kicking today. The game was in east windsor so maybe you worked the game.I live in warren grove near the intersection of 539 and 72.
