2007 DVC Member Cruise - SSMC07 - October 21, 2007

Oh no, not being nosey at all. No worries!! Well I got you beat on being jealous, I am jealous of you - you have the two sizes down graphic! I so need to get down at least two sizes!!!

It is our last night on board :sad1: The seas are a bit choppy this evening and you can feel the boat a-rockin'. Even with my veranda door shut I could swear I heard some waves hitting the baot a few minutes ago.

Sunset is turning out to be gorgeous just like Captain John said it would be. Going to make my husband take some photos and post them tonight.

Today was a beautiful day at sea. We pretty much soaked up the sun and relaxed. The boys wanted to do the kids club all day. The graduation they do for the kids in the Walt Disney Theater was the best and I am SO tempted to steal one of the boys graduation caps with the Mickey ears!

Ok, off the computer and time to get ready for dinner. Tomorrow morning will come too soon!! I am so glad we have one night at OKW before we fly home on Friday. It would be so sad to get off the boat a immediately fly home.

Have a great dinner! What shows are they doing on your cruise? Are you and the family going to spend any time at the parks while at OKW? Say HI to the Mouse for me and tell him we will be there in OMG just 41 days. How cool is that?

Hi everyone,

I have not been out on the site for some time, but can't wait to meet many of you as this is our first Disney Cruise. We have been on Royal Caribbean, but from talking to our friends here in Indy, Disney has them beat.

Looking forward to a grea time.

So whats the best drink on the boat? My last Disney cruise I was happy with the refill mug of beer and a tequila in the other. At the caddy lounge it was martini time.I can see alot of member get togethers at the adult pool bar at night.

Hrm, I wish I could remember the name of my favorite! We had something last night at Parrot Cay that was really good. It had Midori, Rum, Cranberry juice and Passion Fruit juice. It was nice because it was not overly sweet and one of those fruity drinks that makes you feel full.

The first night they had a magician/comedian. Sorry, I stink at names and cannot remember his but the act was lots of fun to watch. He also did performances the rest of the week in the smaller lounges.

The second night was Hercules the Muse-ical. The third night was The Golden Mickeys - this was my favorite. Tonight was Dreams, unfortunately I missed it as my youngest was in dire need of a nap. I going to try and catch it on the members cruise though.

I decided to make a list of things I want to make sure to do on the members cruise that I missed doing on this cruise. So far it is a pretty small list:

1) See Dreams since we missed it
2) Watch a movie on the big screen by the pool one night
3) See Ratatouille down in the theater if it is still playing next month
4) Try Bingo one time since I have never played it

I am sure I will think of more but this is it so far.

We spent 5 days prior to the cruise at OKW. We are going to see how we feel tomorrow about going. I think we will be hanging out at the pool relaxing during the day and maybe hit up Epcot for a few hours in the evening.

Here is a final picture; sunset this evening.

Eric tooks some really neat pictures today - total geek stuff like hallways with strange boat gear, hooks, things like that LOL!

Yay for the Vaios - such nice little computers. I still prefer my MacBook though. I am a major Apple geek!
Your pictures brought back memories from our cruise last year. I remember taking walks in the evenings and not walking through the part of the ship where all the machines and stuff were cuz they kinda creeped me out. I just walked to the entrance of that area and turned around. That would be one of the things I didn't enjoy on my cruise but it's so minor in comparison to everything else on board.

I also found out they have mass at the airport we are schedule to fly out of so we are going to attend mass first before we get on the plane. Thank goodness the chapel is located right across the hall from our carrier so the mass ends at 6:10 and we board at 6:20. yeah

Good morning everyone.

Theresa - happy to hear you have a solution for Mass.

jemiaule - beautiful picture

jmndisnuts - welcome aboard!

COACHSTING - thanks for checking in. You're good to go on buttons!

Just wondering if any of you have been able to chang your dining time on the Cruise. This year we have the late seating.Nanc would perfer the early seating. We were told by member services that we could cahang it until we checked in at the terminal. If anyone knows another way we would like to know.

To be honest I've been a bit intimidated by Disboards (so many people and so much stuff!) and as a result, I haven't posted before this! I've been posting on a smaller DVC-specific site which is where Tiggerguy2000 directed me to this thread...I hope I have time to read it all!

To fill in the blanks...My family (DW, DS4, DD1 and I) having bought DVC mid 2006 will be on this (our first) cruise. We will be on deck 5 near the midships elevator.

We will arrive late on 10/19 (happy birthday to me!) from the Seattle area and will spend 2 nights with Marriott near Cape Canaveral to watch the 10/20 shuttle launch. After the cruise we will be doing 3 nights at VB and then 5 nights at VWL to finish it off.

Thanks again Tiggerguy, and I hope to meet many/most/all of you!

It's a list that I am sending to DCL to get those interested in sitting together. I have one for each sitting.

Brian-Welcome aboard! Can't wait to meet you and your family. Feel free to ask any questions that inquiring minds want to know. Usually, you can find the answer right here with many people who are willing to help.

Have you been on a Disney Cruise before? Mary (WDWLVR) has some real helpful information on her and Mark's website and you can click the link below her signature to get to it. She also has a list of other cruisers on this cruise to help you get to know us all. We expect that you will have all names and pictures matched and memorized by cruise time! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I hope you get to see the shuttle. We have seen a couple of times. Hope it goes off as planned and you get to see it.

You will love the DVC member cruise. Be sure to bring an extra suitcase (empty) so you can haul home all the gifts DVC will be giving you and congrats on your DVC purchase! We have loved being members since we joined in 1994.

:hippie:

Welcome to the DIS and welcome aboard the Member Cruise meets thread. If you go to the very first post there is a link to both the web page and the member gallery. As well as info on how to send me info on your family to be included.

The DIS is a big place but this meets thread is a smaller more intimate group. Feel free to ask any questions you have and we'll all be happy to answer.

Again - welcome!

Joannel - there might be a problem with linking the people who are waitlisted.
I recall reading on the disboards about someone who was waitlisted linking with early and then the early diners were switched!

Not sure if this is the same one Cheryl is talking about but on one of the cruises we had someone linked to the late diners and waitlisted to early and then everyone they were linked was switched to early. :scared1:

I think if when you send it in to DCL that you note that this party is currently on late but would like to be linked with the early diners that may help them get early.

Just my 2 cents.

Anyone seen the sale on Spirit Airlines. If you are part of the $9 club they are paying you to fly. I found $57 for 2 people round trip detroit to orlando. How crazy is that you leave the 11th and come back the 19th. It doesnt work for me but i thought others might want to know about this great sale.
