Hi! Wow - single digit countdown now. That is GREAT!!!

Can't come soon enough! We've had nothing but car problems here. Dd's truck had a broken axle (2005 model!!!), got that fixed and then Dh's truck (2004 model) needed both batteries replaced (he found out when he was two hours away from home!!!), then my car called it quits (1998 model!!!). Fortunately, I got a new Yukon XL Denali. I'm happy now. I'm sick of vehicles, though. They don't build them like they used to - well, it's what my parents had always complained about anyway.
Soccer and softball keep us busy, but now we are ALL discussing the vacation and really looking forward to it.

MIL was diagnosed with late stage lung cancer and it has spread to other parts. It's going to be cutting it close - they gave her 3-6 months and that was in June. We'll see what happens. She's 83 and smoked for 70 of those years - it was just a matter of time. It's amazing she has lived this long.

Nothing will keep us from this vacation, though.

This year has been a bad one for medical problems with family and friends... we just need a break.
School starts Monday for everybody here. Oldest is in college now, but I homeschool the other two. Looking forward to getting started again.

I've been ready to go, but the girls want their summer vacation to last until that very last minute. I don't blame them.
Back to catching up on some recent threads - Capris for Pirate Night is a great idea. That Irish Fest sounds like a lot of fun. Sounds like it was a great tribute to Tommy Makem. Best of luck to those who are/will/might feel the affects from Dean.

That's one powerful Hurricane! Finally, on another, very sad, note - our thoughts go out to the families of the two firefighters killed in New York today on the skyscraper fire.
