2007 DVC Member Cruise - SSMC07 - October 21, 2007

I can't believe I had to go way over to page 2 to find this so I thought I'd just say Hello!

Good morning all,

Did a little cruise shopping. Went to the Disney outlet and bought two pirate T-Shirts. Now were are ready for Pirate night. Whith this only being a 4 night I don't think I will need to do much shoppping this year.

Have a great Thursday!!!!!

I have begun to think about what to pack since we are only 8 weeks away!! YIPEE!! Do you think it would be ok to wear denim capri pants on Pirate night with a nice shirt (or pirate shirt)? I'm trying not to pack too much that I couldn't wear to the parks also. Any thoughts?

Boy, I feel like I've been packing/unpacking for the past month. I just sent the two older boys off for a weekend trip with my brother, SIL, and nephew. They are headed to Inner Harbor for the weekend. The rest of us are headed to Atlantic City for the weekend. Wish us luck, well more like wish the DH luck since he is the one that gambles and I will be watching the other two kiddies. Hope everybody had a Happy Friday and a good weekend since I don't know if I will have access to the internet while I am gone. I am feeling the DIS withdrawls already. lol

Good morning everyone - happy Friday!

I think denim capris for pirate night would work great.

We heading away this weekend as well. Going up to Milwaukee for Irish Fest. It is an annual tradition for us. I've been going for over 25 years. We're bringing the notebook so I'll still be able to check in when we are back in the room.

Have a great day eveyrone!

Good Morning All--

My DD is soooo funny, she woke up this morning and announced we are going on the Disney Cruise this morning so everybody had to get up and brush their teeth, change their clothes and get ready to go. Little does she know we are only going to Atlantic City for the weekend and the cruise will come later. She actually went and brushed her teeth and changed without being asked to do so.

Mark&Mary-Have fun!!(everytime I type Mark&Mary it ends up as Mary&Mary even though in my head I am saying Mark&Mary...it's weird)

Have a Happy Friday everyone!!

Morning all,

Mary- have a great week end- do the irish jig for me and have some corned beef & cabage.

Tiny tink- good luck & have fun.

We are taking son # 2 to college tomorrow. He is supposed to be packing and doing laundry today, I offered last night but he was too lazy to get it together. So we shall see what he gets done.

Have a great friday!!!!

I sure hope no one is in the path of the Hurricane out there.

If so, lots of pixie dust your way and stay calm. That helps a lot.

We have a generator. After living in Guam and here, sad to say but we have been through that too many times. There is nothing worsr than running from a storm and watching Jim Cantori on the weather channel in your town. We have always been very lucky.

Prayers for all those who need it.

Have a great Saturday.

Good morning everyone - happy Saturday!

Had a great evening at the Fest yesterday. I don't know how many of you know who Tommy Makem was (he was part of the Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem, later part of Makem and Clancy and also had a great solo career). Well he's known as the Grandfather of Irish music in America and sadly passed away on August 1st. They have dedicated this years Irish Fest to him and the time slots where he was to perform are filled with a dedicated performance to him featuring friends and relatives. It was wonderful!

We got to the fest when it opened at 4 pm and left at 9 pm. It was really getting crowded then. We're going back today but the weather forecast isn't looking good so we'll see how long we stay.

Prayers and pixie dust to anyone in the way of the storm. Sad to see that it hit St. Lucia. We visited there on our December 2004 10 night cruise and it was just beautiful there.

Have a great day everyone!

Joannel: that was one good thing that my DH did before he passed recently. He set the house up with a great generator that will run the whole house, if needed. I'll have to get someone to pull it out of the shed but I have instructions on how to get it running. I was instructed thru the steps on several occasions. DH's son is a master electrician and he put the large electric box and all that is needed on the side of the house.

Have a great Saturday and Sunday everyone.

Good morning Member Cruisers!

We sail in 9 weeks!

Yeah - we are in the single digits. Not sure if I'll be able to sign on tomorrow morning as we need to pack up and leave early for Mass at the fest. So I'm going to go ahead and post it tonight.

Hi! Wow - single digit countdown now. That is GREAT!!! :cool1::thumbsup2:goodvibes

Can't come soon enough! We've had nothing but car problems here. Dd's truck had a broken axle (2005 model!!!), got that fixed and then Dh's truck (2004 model) needed both batteries replaced (he found out when he was two hours away from home!!!), then my car called it quits (1998 model!!!). Fortunately, I got a new Yukon XL Denali. I'm happy now. I'm sick of vehicles, though. They don't build them like they used to - well, it's what my parents had always complained about anyway. :hippie:

Soccer and softball keep us busy, but now we are ALL discussing the vacation and really looking forward to it. MIL was diagnosed with late stage lung cancer and it has spread to other parts. It's going to be cutting it close - they gave her 3-6 months and that was in June. We'll see what happens. She's 83 and smoked for 70 of those years - it was just a matter of time. It's amazing she has lived this long. :confused3 Nothing will keep us from this vacation, though. :snooty: This year has been a bad one for medical problems with family and friends... we just need a break.:wizard:

School starts Monday for everybody here. Oldest is in college now, but I homeschool the other two. Looking forward to getting started again. :teacher: I've been ready to go, but the girls want their summer vacation to last until that very last minute. I don't blame them.

Back to catching up on some recent threads - Capris for Pirate Night is a great idea. That Irish Fest sounds like a lot of fun. Sounds like it was a great tribute to Tommy Makem. Best of luck to those who are/will/might feel the affects from Dean. :scared1: That's one powerful Hurricane! Finally, on another, very sad, note - our thoughts go out to the families of the two firefighters killed in New York today on the skyscraper fire. :sad1:

9 more weeks...9 more weeks...9 more weeks...:hourglass

My DVC countdown says 1 month 29 days

until we check into the Animal kingdom Villas.2 days later we board the 2007 DVC member cruise.

tiggerguy :thumbsup2

Hi everyone.. Been a few days since I checked in. We've been busy school shopping, taking our last trips to the beach, etc. Although, now the rumor is school will start 2 weeks late due to construction. Maybe as late as September 17th!! I'll REALLY need a vacation if that happens!!
Hope everyone has a great day!
Jaime

Quick question: From earlier posts I recall people discussing running in the mornings and people who are running in the TofT race at MGM after we get arrive. Our DD, who is a CM and going on the cruise with us, just mentioned that she was signed up for the TofT race.
Who is running in the mornings and what times and decks?
Anyone else running in the TofT race, I thought I read that Cobbler was :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: running.
