2007 DVC Member Cruise - SSMC07 - October 21, 2007

Morning everyone!!

Joanne!! That is too funny. Did you ever meet the ghost??
My Dh went to Siena for his undergrad. He always talks about a place where he could get unlimited wings.
I went to Buff State.
We lived in Jersey for 3 years also. Right by Great Adventure.

Mary, I believe I am already listed on the Gallery Page. we're the ones with the pic from Beaches Turks and Caicos. However Disney will always be the first love!!!

Ok, time to do some much needed cleaning and errands. Alexander is in a fairly good mood so I may take him out in public. It's hard with a 2.5 year old.

DUH! I think this is the 2nd time I've asked that too. Please forgive me as I think I am suffering more and more from CRS (Can't Remember Stuff). :lmao: Please forgive me.

Never met the ghost, but did hear the stories. My dh is from MA, and we spent many a summer at the Jersey Shore, WIldwood, Cape May, Spring Lake.

But after our pretty beaches I don't think I can ever go back in the Atlantic up there.

I can't get the picture to show. I really stink at this computer stuff.

My Dh is from RI and I lived in MA for 2 years. I lived in Andover. The world gets smaller every day doesn't it?

Very small, I won't bore you with the long version, but I met my husband in LA. He was in the Airforce and i just wanted to live in California. Come to find out both of our brothers lived in the same town near Albany. Our first assignment after we married was back to NY-Rome. It was vey strange.

Good afternoon everyone. Hope everyone has a great day!!!

Mary- are we doing the 3pm meet at Beach Club?

Just to let everyone know... I'm still thinking about organizing a charter bus to take folks to and from the cruise. I called a few bus companies, but haven't had much luck. I talked to the company that was used last year, but the guy that answers the phone is always "in his car" and tells me he will call me back with a quote, but he never does. Don't really want to use that company if that's the way he likes to conduct business. Does anyone else have any recommended companies to call before I start blind calling Orlando charter bus companies???

Looks like 3pm at Beach Club is still in the lead but I see someone did vote today so we won't make a final decision until the poll closed on 8/7. Once we have the formal vote done I'll announce it on the thread and add it to the web page but I would say at this point it is looking like yes for 3pm at the Beach Club. Can't wait to meet everyone!

Sorry to hear you are having problems with the company from last year. Not sure if they do busses but have you contacted FL Tours? They are a sponsor of the DIS boards...maybe they can help.

Hey Poohbear,

Just sent you a PM too.

This is what I found at Happy Limo which I think was from allears.net

They emailed me this quote on a van, and a minibus which holds I think 37 people or so.

For 6 to 10 people:
1 way>$134.00 ---website says $130, again $4.00 is for tolls

Round Trip>$268.00 --- website says $260, $8.00 is for tolls

If we have more than 10 people:

The cost for the minibus

1 way >$304.00 – website says $300.00, $4.00 for tolls

Round Trip>$608.00 --- website says 600.00, $8.00 for tolls

I'll be in touch with my roommate to see if she wants to drive over to Disney for the 3 pm meet at Beach Club. We'll see how it works out.

I would add my name to the link for dining, but I think my roommate has something else planned with other cruisers. We shoudl be close to each other, tho. She is back from her Med cruise and I'll be talking to her sometimes this week.

I am a very, very happy camper today. I got news this morning that I DO NOT have to go back into the hospital for a surgery that I thought I needed "now". YIPEE YIPEE - I am on cloud 9.

So my next cruise is 8/23 and then 9/13 and I don't have to cancel them.

Hope everyone has a great week.

It's your roommate checking in! :hippie: Back from our Med. Cruise. Had a magical time. My trip report is at

www.seaulaterinthemed.blogspot.com

Can't wait for our next cruise.

Answers to your questions:

1. Guess I better check into making plane reservations so I can figure when I am coming and going.

2. Yes, we are linked to another dinner reservation.

3. That is such good news about NO SURGERIES!

4. How dare you go on two more cruises before this one! Some people..............HA! If I lived in Florida, I guess I would be taking more cruises too!

Okay, this is my next cruise, so I'll try to catch up now on everything. I am only home for 3 more days, and then I have to go to New York on business and return late next Tuesday night. If I don't have jet lag now, I'll definitely have it next week. My body won't know what time zone I'm on!

Whoa Linda! Don't you ever slow down? ;)

I voted - better late than never. We have a 5 pm at Coral so we voted for 3 @ BC.

Looking forward to this vacation more than anyone could imagine. I need a vacation really bad. I'm sure you guys do as well (even Linda needs a vacation from all those vacations! )

Sorry to hear about the accident Joanne, but thank god nobody was hurt because of that lame driver. My dd is almost 18 (next month) and I still get nervous every time she's out there on the road. Having a teen driver helped me to be a better driver, I believe. I picture every other driver out there as an inexperienced teenage driver who needs the benefit of the doubt on the road. It has slowed me down and made me more courteous to other drivers.

Finally got our itinerary all planned out and made our WDW dinner ressies. Hopefully everybody here got their ressies in - some of the places were already booked for that week before the cruise. Luckily we got what we wanted.

Any word on the Wild Side - are they just not offering it this cruise? I only have one that could do it and she said no, but I wanted to book it in case she changes her mind.

Geez! It's only around the corner already. Time sure flies!

I think we are 82 day out. :cool1: :cool1:

Don't want to wish the days away 'cause the cruise will go fast. We don't want that.

Linda & Trishy - nice to see you both posting. Now that we are getting closer we're seeing more and more posting. Love it!

Kay - you are correct we are 82 days out. It is coming up fast!

Finally got our reservation for the sneak peek at the new Doorway to Dreams store here in the Chicagoland area. The first mailing they did got all messed up so we've had calls, e-mails and a new mailing. Crazy! Can't wait to see the new store. They have the AKL models on display which we haven't seen yet but I know many of you have.

The previews are Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The Grand Opening is Saturday and I hear the Big Cheese himself ::MickeyMo will be there.

I know this is silly but where is the Doorway to Dreams exactly. I am from CT but I will be in CHicago this weekend visiting a friend from High School. I'd be interested to hear if it might be something I can get to.

Thanks!!
Kelly

Good morning everyone!

Kelly - Doorway to Dreams is in the Woodfield Mall which is located in Schaumburg, IL (which is a Northwest suburb of Chicago). I'm not a real good judge of travel times but I'd say its about an hour out of downtown Chicago.
