2007 DVC Member Cruise - SSMC07 - October 21, 2007

What is the dress code for brunch at Palo's? I know dinner is dressy but I'm not sure what to wear for brunch. Have a great Sunday everyone. Only 84 days til we sail:cool1:

Hi everyone, just checking in.
I have a slight change, my husband was recently laid off, replacing him will be my mom Maureen. I'll try and get her to register and post here .

-Cheryl

I will be interested in dress code for Palo brunch too.

And for regular dinners (AP, Tritons, and Parrot Cay) - how dressy is dressy? Can you where Capri's and nice shirt...or does it be better to have dresses...etc.

Like business casual at work or dressier??

Cheryl- sorry to hear Todd won't be joining us. I look forward to meeting your mom.

As for Palo brunch. Capri's and a nice top for women is fine. Mark usually does dockers with a polo shirt. He does the same for dinner. I usually go with pants and a nice top. Many women will do sundresses for brunch and dinner as well.

As for Palo dinner. A nice pant suit or dress for women and a dress shirt and tie/jacket for men.

Hi..... I tried to do on-line registration for thecruise today and it would not let me complete it. Is this because we are first-timers and we can only complete the registration process on August 7 when we can try to reserve activities? Thanks....

Good morning Member Cruisers!

We sail in 12 weeks!

A couple of reminders:

If you want to link for dinner with other DISers be sure and pm Joannel with your names, ages, cabin number, reservation number and whether you are early or late seating.

There is still time to vote on the pre-cruise DIS meet. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1526461
Looks like 3pm at Beach Club is currently in the lead but 7 pm isn't far behind. Your vote counts!

PDFG and all who need it.

Hmmm - not sure but you might be on to something Coach. I know I couldn't log into our for online check-in until after my booking day last Sunday. Were the buttons there to be seen but not active (you couldn't click on them)? That's how it was to me. If so then you may want to wait until August 7th (or 8th).

The buttons become active at certain points before the cruise. I think it's Castaway Club gets 120 days out which was 7/23 and concierge was even before that. I guess the non-castaway club goes at around 90 days out.

Good morning all,

Had a much better nights sleep last night. All the boys seem fine. Said a very big thank you at Mass last night. We are sure counting are blessings!

Off to do some college shopping today. Patrick is moving from the dorm into a house, so we need all bedroom, bathroom, kitchen stuff. Then hopefully some pool time.

Have a great Sunday!

good morning everyone

Beautiful day here in Ft. Lauderdale.

Just watching movies and doing some chores around the house and catching up from all week.

Hope everyone has a great day

Wow 12 weeks. Pretty soon we will be in double digits. Still waiting on my passports, it will be 17 weeks on Tuesday. Now I have waited longer for my passports than I will be waiting now to board the ship.

First of all Joannel, I am glad to hear your son is all right.
Remember cars are easier to replace...

My DW said she read that there are a ton of phones on the ship. Does anyone know if you can use a calling card on these to make calls?
I need to know if I should buy a calling card to be able to stay in contact with our DD who is not sailing with us.
Thanks

Hi Coach-- yes, you can complete online registration the same day that you are eligible to book activities. According to DCL, if you're booking your activities at midnight, your check-in link may not become active until later in the day. Also, I've recently learned that it's best to use Internet Explorer and not FireFox for your web browser when you do this

I thought I read somewhere on the Dis that you could order other items than those listed on the menus while on the DCL.
There was a trip report and the family had ordered breadsticks and pasta with alfredo sauce.:mickeybar
Is this true? I have to admit that there are few items on the fancy menus that I would go for.
Please give responses...:mickeyjum
Thanks

There are alot of times I really don't care for the menu items and they always seem to find me something for me to eat. There was one night that I really wanted jerk chicken even though it wasn't on the menu. I asked our server and was told that was no problem. It was probably the best jerk chicken I had unil we went to Cha Cha's chicken in Santa Monica!!!

I can't believe that its only 12 weeks away!!!!

As far as the dress code for dinner, we usually wear pants or capris or a skirt and a nice shirt. There is usually one night that we tend to dress up a little bit more. Usually the night when they do the Golden Mickeys. I'm not sure they still have that show. It might have been on the 7 night.

Good morning everyone - happy Monday.

Can't help with the phone card question. We've always just used the internet to stay in touch with family.

As for the food. There are always some plain options on every menu. Steak, chicken and I believe a fish option. The servers will do their best to make you happy and combine things as needed or not put a sauce on something. Not sure how much they will do a custom order. I think that is really up to the server.

I also am glad to hear you son and friends are ok...

I finished Harry Potter Friday night finally loved it. JK Rowlings was on Dateline last night...Thankfully I had finished the book because she gave away alot.

I'm down to 79 days before I leave I know the cruise is a little longer but this helps me make it just that much closer.

Thanks Dopey, every one is fine.

It is definately a Monday here. Woke up to a puddle of water in the kitchen. Refrigerator had died and melted all over. So at 6 am I am cleaning up the mess and throwing everything away. Before I have to goto work. If this is any thing on how my week is going to be I am going to bed. Wake me up Friday!!!!:confused3

Hope you have a great Monday. It's got to be better than the way mine is starting.

Hi everyone!!!
Can't believe we sail in 12 weeks!!! I am so excited. Well, it doesn't look like Alexander is interested in potty training at all. I know he can't wear pull ups in the oceaneer's Club either. So we have him in the nursery for our dinner at Palo. I'd rather get him into OC because he loves to watch the older kids. Well, we have a few months, right? He'll turn 3 right before the cruise.

I saw an earlier post about car rental and we are renting at Thrifty when we get to the MCO. We'll then drive to the All Star resort and then to PC the next day. We're then renting a car from PC to the ASR and will be staying there for the rest of the week. This seemed like a cheaper way to go. Plus, they have this "wild card" pick where nothing will be smaller than a mid size car. You pay the same price as a standard.

We are excited about meeting everyone on Sat. Where is the poll to vote on where to meet?

I can't wait to meet everyone!!

Ooh been there done that I hope your week improves. It's rainy and very muggy here today but so far so good.
