2007 DVC Member Cruise - SSMC07 - October 21, 2007

So while I'm up awaiting midnight (hopefully EDT rather than later) is the "right" time-zone, I have tipping questions.
I understand the tipping at Palo - I assume that even though this cruise includes "gratuity" that this is only for regular dining servers and Palo servers still need the over and above tipping. Confirm?
It is unclear whether it is appropriate to tip for excursions on Castaway Cay - ideas? Will tip spa staff like on-board if cabana massage, but what about tours?

Well I just tried to log in and got the following message:

Sorry, you cannot make Shore Excursion reservations at this time. Our records indicate that you have either not paid for your cruise vacation in full or have not provided complete birthdate information for each member of your travel party. If a payment is still due, please apply payment now online or contact your travel agent.

To update birthdate information, you must first call a Disney Cruise Line representative at (800) 951-3532 or your travel agent to update your reservation information. In either case, please return to the My Disney Cruise section of disneycruise.com afterwards to continue making your cruise vacation plans online.

Color me confused. Checked our online profile and my written confirmation and our birthdays are correct. Of course we are paid in full as we did it on booking day back in December. Anyone else having any problems?

You are correct about Palo - there is a $10 per person charge but most tip over and above that. Our gratuity does not cover Palo.

I believe we tipped the crew when we did the snorkel excursion last year.

Just confirmed Palo brunch, Palo dinner, cabana massage.
We wanted the walking and kayak nature adventure, but it wasn't listed at all - is it only on the date/time I've selected for cabana massage or is it not offerred at all this cruise?
I guess it's midnight eastern time! Woo hoo - can get to sleep now, but I'm too jazzed to sleep

I was just able to book the reservations for Palo.

Mary - close your browser, and clear all your cookies, then try again. I was getting the exact same error message. Once I did that, I was able to get in to book.

Thanks for the hint Tony. I had logged off and decided to try once more before giving up and going to bed. It worked! Got Palo Brunch at 10 am and got the jet skis on our first sea day at 11:15! Yeah!

10am brunch, fishing for Amanda, bikes and floats for both. Now its time for bed, even though I am off tomorrow. Still a lot to do:thumbsup2

Has any one else seen Walking & Kayak Nature Adventure?
Is it me or is DHs favorite (only requested) excursion not available? If it's not available, is it full or cancelled? If it's full, are there spots held back for on-board rezzies and if so, where/when do I try on-board.
I was all ready to do the Palo rezzie rush on board but now I need to discover a castaway cay contingency?

Good. Glad you were able to get in. I just booked the same Jet Ski tour (11:15 on day 1), so looks like we will be able to do it together.

I could be wrong but the only kayak excursion I've seen has been the Wild Side which is for teens only. Don't remember seeing an adult one.

Cool - just promise me you won't laugh too hard at me. I'm pooh sized and had a very hard time getting on the jet ski last time and brought up the rear because I was afraid to go too fast. Hopefully I'll do better this time. :)

It's listed as ages 10 and up... I'm bummed for DH who is asleep and can't give me another idea - it really was the only thing he requested to do. He's going to Palo with me because I want to and picking kids up from Scuttles Cove for me during my Cabana Massage. I've got to find something for him who I

I just did it also. got brunch and dinner. Bikes on first trip to cc and mats for second day. Weird how it lets you in early. Now I don't have to get up in two hours.

Good night all.

Mary
We are having brunch at the same time as you and Mark.:goodvibes

Excellent! We had a lot of DIS tables last year and it was fun to stop and talk to everyone as we were getting our food from the buffet!

Well 5 am is coming early so I'm going to call it a night. Congrats to everyone for getting their reservations and yeah for not having to wake up at 2 am!

I booked brunch for noon, didn't want to miss any morning activities. Booked dinner for Monday. Will cancell once on board if navigator shows anything good.

Can anyone tell me why I can't book my parents for the same brunch time as me which happens to be the same as most everyone 10am? We have different ressie numbers but we are linked together, if that makes any sense.

Just too booked

Palo Brunch on the 23rd at 10:30
Palo Dinner at 6:00pm on the 24th
Stingrays at 11:00 on teh 24th

I was worried about morning activities also on t he 23rd....I noticed someone said they went for 12:00 instead. Just curious if others thought this was a good idea. Are there usually NOT activities at lunch....would that be a better time for brunch??

OK - tried to go on and book ours at 2:10 am 'cause I woke up.

Already booked.

Now how cool is that. Thank you to whoever did this for us...

Now back to bed I go, as I leave for WDW in about 5 hours.

I knew this was going to happen...:dance3: But my body had to wake up anyways
