One-Time Use Points Questions

We are planning a trip in January my UY is June I have booked 1/2 the trip on 2026 and 2027 points and have to wait until 6/1/26 to use 2028 points. I will still be 40 points short. It sounds like I can purchase the OTU points now book a 1 bdrm for 1 night AKL and then cancel but those points would not be available until 7 months before the booking date for the 2nd 1/2 of my trip, do I have that correct? Also, when I was planning our Aulani trip for last month I did purchase the $99 special BOGO, I thought I was going to need more than 24 points and she said I would still be eligible to buy the regular OTU $20 per point (not the $99 BOGO special). It ended up that I did not need them but just wondering if that is true. I think I have gotten conflicting info on that. Thanks

If you have a Jan 2027 trip booked, with a June UY, you can’t borrow 2028 points for that trip.

It takes place in your 2026 UY, so the only points available to borrow are the June 2027 UY points.

It’s all based on UY of the trip that determines which points can be used, not the calendar year.

Interesting, I was surprised that she said it would work also. So she used my remaining 87 pnts from 2026 and borrowed from 2027 leaving me with 74 BWV pnts (7 pnts short of another night). She said to call in on 6/1/2026 to complete the resv with 2028 pnts. but apparently that will not be an option correct?

I believe it is only II, ABD and cruises that you can borrow multiple years of points for.
