"so disappointed that all of the palo brunch ressies are gone. this is our first Disney cruise. Is it possible that some ressies will be available once we get on board?"

From past experience, if you go to once you are onboard to the Rockin' Bar D you can schedule a reservation. They do not open all the slots to the advanced reservation. Also try again at the 75 day point when every one else is open to register.

I can't wait to get on the ship and get out of Blackberry range.

Yeah, the last week of school this week!! School ends on Wednesday and up to the mountains for camping on Thursday. Two weeks at work then back east for my nieces wedding and a mini vacation. Two weeks at work then Disneyland for a weekend to celebrate DS's 3rd Birthday. Then San Diego for my Birthday, then three more weeks until we pack it up for WDW and the Cruise. Now that the fun is beginning, we just stayed for the weekend at DL, things will move quickly. We have our excursions all planned and spa and palo reservations made. Although I didn't reserve anything for Palo Brunch, is this something that should be attended? If so, I will try to get it on board. I don't believe that we will be at the port early because we are taking Disney transportation to the port from Old Key West. We hope that something is remaining when we arrive. Really looking forward to seeing you all on the ship.

We were almost on page three, so I thought I should give us a bit of a bump!

Hope all are having a good week. Life here seems to be in overdrive...but muddling through. While we are vacationing this summer, and cruising on DCL at the end of July...I will be so ready to get away in September. That week is one of rejuvination for me! By dinner on the first night, I am so missing the kids that by the time we get home to them...running around is such a joy!

Have a great day all!

If you are looking for something else fun to do to pass the time, I found this on the DISign boards: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=928135 it's a thread with instructions on how to tie-dye a Mickey Mouse onto a tshirt.

I thought it would be really cute if my family wears them on the day we leave so we can get a cute picture of the family in matching shirts as we board the ship.

I can post a pic here of how they turned out, if someone will please tell me HOW to do that?! I don't see an attachement option. Or am I too new (still earning my ears) to be allowed to post a picture?

It's getting closer and closer!!!

Hi gang...

Looking for Pixie Dust! My boys are in a golf tournament in our hometown. Iain, my oldest son, has let a young man really get into his head. We are looking for Pixie Dust to let him just go out and play his own game! It is the last year he can participate in this particular tourney. The youngest is playing great...so just let him enjoy the pixie dust for fun! Thanks all!

In 4 hours it will be 75 days until my first Disney cruise!!!! I am so excited :Pinkbounc Tonight my wonderful DH will be staying up to book Palo and excursions. He's such a trooper. :rotfl:

I'm a bit lost. I thought the reservations for Palo opened a couple of weeks ago and it was totally booked.

Do they open up more?

Those in suites and on REAS can book at 105 days ahead; Castaway Club at 90 days ahead; all guests at 75 days ahead (i.e., 3AM this morning).

Also curious whether they open more slots, though.... mickeymedic-- did you get Palo ressies??

Have any of you ever been cancelled by DCL? The first time I cruised, my dad paid for our whole family to celebrate his retirement. The last time I cruised, I was able to pay the full amount up front. This time I made payments since October. I told my TA I would be having trouble coming up with my final payment on time, so I cancelled the 2 days at WDW we were going to do afterwards. Then, in order to bring our balance a tad lower, I cancelled our Disney transfers because it seems cheaper to rent a car. She had told me that since I've paid most of the cost (only $381.90 left), Disney might let me postpone payment a week or so. When I told her my next payday is 6/30, her response was that there's a good chance Disney WILL cancel me.

I understand this is policy. I understand they need to be fair to people who pay on time. I have before and just ran into a speed bump this time. It's not like I still owe $1,000. I know some people will read this the wrong way, but all I'm wondering is whether this has happened to any of you? And if so, do you think I'll just be able to re-book (with whatever cabin is available--won't be picky) in 11 days when I get paid next? :confused3

Nevermind my earlier panic. My TA says she's sure Disney will be OK with me paying in 11 days because of me being a repeat cruiser and also because I've paid almost the whole balance. :rolleyes1

I just panicked earlier!

We were cancelled early in the history of DCL, but for a different reason.

We made reservations the first summer that DCL was cruising. (was it 98? 99?) We were using our DVC points for the four night cruise.

About two months before our cruise date, we got a Fed Ex letter telling us the ship wouldn't be ready in time for our cruise, and we'd need to reschedule. As a bonus for our trouble, they'd give us 25% of the points we were using for the cruise as a bonus.

We rescheduled, and the exact same thing happened again! We took our 50% bonus, rescheduled again and finally cruised on about the 8th cruise the Magic took.

It sure wasn't a problem, and we actually upgraded our cabin since half our cruise was free.

BigBlueMan: Sounds like you got a great deal! I've heard that DCL is great at compensating for things like that.

I just got another e-mail from my TA. She knew how panicked I was and wanted to ease my fears. She said she has had lots of people in the past who have paid very little on their cruise, and who pay their final balance 14 days after the deadline and they were not cancelled. She was just letting me know that it is possible but probably won't happen since I'm so close to having my whole balance paid. WHEW! What a relief! :woohoo: I think I was just overly stressed because my car broke down yesterday on the highway when I went out of town for Father's Day, so I had to call in to work because I knew it wouldn't be fixed to get me back to town. Good gravy, I'm sure ready for this cruise! :crazy2:

Yes, we got our first choice of Palo ressies - 8pm Friday night (our anniversary) :thumbsup2

Mickeymedic congrats on getting the reservations you were hoping for! It really does make everything seem so much more magical when those little details fall into place.

Holly, I am so glad that things will probably work out. DCL does like their repeat guests, so that should definitely work in your favor!

As to the pixie dust over the weekend...thanks! The boys each pulled out wins in their age divisions. :goodvibes

tomspixie: :cheer2: Congrats to your boys! You must be so proud of them! WOOHOO!
