2006 version: What have you seen on the Emerald aisle?

when we were there may 20th...

there were no SUV on the aisle when we got there at 9:45 and we did not leave the garage until almost 11 as we only had a two day rental ....flight on monday was leaving at 2pm,.....thus we stretched out the wait in the gargae....there still were only cars on the EA

maybe they are paring back their SUV/Van fleets...???

Where the suv's /vans on there own aisle or did you have reserved the emerald aisle? What did you wind up with? thanks, mky princess:

Arrived May 18 at 7:30pm. :confused3 Only one Grand Caravan on aisle and we were very happy to take it!!! People behind us were told to go to Emerald Executive. Not much there - we got the deal with regular Aisle. We also got the best rate we ever had $8..50 per day with discounts and coupons. Real lucky this time with the mini van. Good luck to all of you too! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Arrived on Wednesday, May 24th at about 11:00pm. The Emerald Aisle on the A side was full, but all cars. No minivans or SUVs. Mostly Pontiac G6s and Impalas.

mkymouse4 ever

we ended up with a buick lucerne for our three day weekend

did not really check the "suv aisle", was just commenting that they did not have any on EA and surmising they may be cutting back their fleet size ....

The night of May 26th there were no SUVs in either EA or EX. aisles. We took a Buick La Crosse (sp) from the Executive.

We have an intermediate size reserved with national for our trip later this month. I'm hoping there will be something a little bit bigger or fancier in the emerald aisle, but in the event there aren't any minivans, suvs, convertibles etc. I'm going to have to do some homework. For instance, given the choice between a grand prix and a monte carlo I wouldn't know which was 'better'. Some of the car names - buick lacerne?? I don't even recognize.

I'll definately be checking this thread daily until we leave. :sunny:

A Monte Carlo is a 2 door, a Grand Prix is a 4 door. They are basically the same car (GM's). I think an Impala is also about the same (4 door). I think a Buick Lucerne is a little bigger.

buick lucerne is very close to impala....

they both have huge trunks

Correct...

GM's cars are pretty similar when it comes to size...

Chevrolet Impala
Chevrolet Monte Carlo
Pontiac Grand Prix
Buick LaCrossee

are all the same vehicle, built on the same platform in the same plant (Oshawa, Ontario, Canada). The only difference is that the Monte Carlo is a 2 door virsion of the Impala. All of the above are consider Full Size by National, so these would be your most likely sights on the aisle (if there were any full sizes). BTW, if you ever see a Buick from National, take a look at it because most have leather, onstar, sunroof etc.... just a tip :goodvibes

Because my hubby travels so much we have two free days of rental, plus he is Executive Level. What cars are in this aisle? I am wondering do we just reserve a minivan or chance it? We have four kids though...so I am a little worried. Also, are we able to get a van of our choice if we rent and we just pick out of some aisle or do we have to have an agent bring it up to us?

In my past visits to the aisle, executive usually has a few more upgrades. Most of the vehicles on exceutive are brand new with many options. If you reserive a minivan (as is all other vehicles) you can choose the minivan that you like best.

I'll be arrving around 11:00am tomorrow, I'll report back. I'm using my Executive Aisle card for the first time, my company got me one. Hoping for a new full size, it's just me and my niece.

Arrived this morning. All I saw on both Executive and Emerald Aisle were cars, no vans or SUV's. A red Impala parked on the end caught my eye, 723 miles, sports model, so I didn't look too much farther. I saw some Monte Carlo's on Emerald Aisle.
