Fingers are crossed that we have seen the last of the snow, but it's Michigan and anything can happen!

Same here!

It's crazy because last Monday school was cancelled for us because of the 8 inches of snow. Today, it's going to be 82 degrees.

I'm not sure how much I've shared about my stupid neighbor around here, but he's the guy who decided to tear off the roof/attic of his ranch and turn it into a cape and only half finished the project. :scared: All of the supplies, wood, insulation, scafolding sat under the 4 feet of snow all winter long. So this weeked, sunny, beautiful, warm--you would think the dummy would clean up his yard or at least continue with his construction project? Nope--he opened his swimming pool. :confused3

We had beautiful weather here too. Spent Saturday helping Ken clean the garage. We put all our bikes, etc. into the back yard to sweep out the floor, and two people stopped to ask if we were having a yard sale!:rotfl2:

Spent yesterday afternoon working on CJ's. Still have one page to go. Heading off to do that now, so they should be in the mail to Mary this afternoon!

Hey there everyone!
Well it was a fabulous sunny day today like Diana mentioned. I think the high was 86 today!!
Thinks have been very busy here. I'm working in a different office currently and the new job involves some travel well basically that all I did last week was to be in what they call "travel mode" so today was my first day back in the office since Friday the 13th!

Well off to get the vacuum put away. wanted to spend as much time outside as possible so I did whatelse but vacuumed out the car!:rotfl2:

Diana - don't you just love neighbors like that! Bet he keeps the neighborhood entertained. We have a few of those around here.

Time for me to get the packing lists and piles together - leaving in 10 days and I sure hope I'm ready!

He's the reason why in Florida all the houses we're looking at are in Community Development Districts with strict rules and regulations of what you can and can't do to your house. Everyone who knows me knows I'm a total neat freak--a place for everything and everything in its place. There's NO WAY I'm living next door to Sanford N Son again!! :scared:

Which is exactly why you will never have an invite to my house because a lot of times I feel like Sanford & Son with all the stuff we have around here.

We also have a neighbor who has a never ending addition going on next door. I've talked to the Village here a couple of times when his addition has been flooding our garage due to the grade of it, and they tell me he has up to 1 year from the time the permits are issued to finish the project before they will get involved. :scared1: 1 year!! That's a long time to have things in shambles, even for me. Good thing for us, we're coming up on that 1 year anniversary, so hopefully there is a light at the end of the tunnel. And, I hope the neighbor doesn't get anymore grand ideas anytime soon.

Mary, 10 days!! Lucky you! I hope Chris & Amy are having a great time on their cruise this week. I SO wish we were all there with them!

Diana...Then you don't want to come here ever...LOL! Tim has lived in this house his whole life he bought the house from his parents, and his parents still havent moved all their crap with good reason, (they moved out a year ago in Jan, and then his mom was really sick, and ended up passing, and his dad cant handle going through the things yet.) So I completely understand why, but at times I am going insane!
All in time I guess...We are redoing the kitchen this summer and just purchased my dream appliances (Best Buy has no interest for 24 months this week)....Kitchen Aid Stainless Steel .
..Fridge...Stove...Over the stove microwave, and a dishwasher...I cant wait! No more having to wash all the dishes! And the good news is that we have a 2nd kitchen in the basement, so when the kitchen is torn up I can still cook, and not have to eat my kids favorite choice for dinner!

This week was a pretty interesting week for me at work, we purchased a new intra-oral camera and moniters...they were finally installed this week. The guy who sold them to us promised to be out 3 different times and cancelled 2 of the 3, so I called him Thursday night to make sure he was showing up on Friday. He was at the airport at 7pm on his way he said. Then he asked for directions from 950 N Michigan (downtown Chicago) to our office in the burbs. I told him to take the train, and gave him the correct directions. He said great hes staying with a friend and will be there at 12 noon to install, but would call at 10 am. I had this gut instinct that this guy was going to go out, and not show. So at 10:30 am I call him, he doesnt answer. He calls back about 5 minutes later sounding like death warmed over. Say to me "I'm hopping in a cab and going to be there in 30 min" I laugh and say see ya soon, knowing a cab ride from the city is going to be expensive, and take longer than 30 mins. He calls an hour later from the ghetto...The cab driver who spoke little english took him to the south side of the city. The cabbie gets on the phone with me, and says "I at your office, he no wanna get out" I laugh, and say "no way, are you in Willowbrook?" He says "No we in Chicago" I tell him he has to take I-55 south, to the exit we are at. He says I take 75th st west to I-55??? I am trying not to laugh at this guy, I said no 75th doesnt connect to 55...he says ok I fix this.
30 minutes later the cabbie calls back to ask what exit again. I tell him, and in about 20 mins at 12:20 the guy comes stumbling in saying the cabbie wanted $120, but he only gave him $30. He was still drunk from the night before. So I figure I better help him install, so it gets done today, and correct. As we are unpacking this, he pulls out the directions and says he ahs never done an install before. I knew I was in for it now. So we get all the moniters connected to the polls on the chairs, why hes telling me about his bar adventures the night before, and how he still has double vision and his phone is consistantly ringing. Now we need to make the Dish network work with the moniters, and he has no clue!!! He tells me he will find out, and call me! Then offers me a job, because I learn fast. He has to go at this point because he has a flight back to Detroit for the Tigers/Sox game! So he
leaves, and I look at the wires to attach the Dish network, and have it figured out in less than 5 minutes.
Then Yesterday, he called to see how everything was working???? Duh...Great because of who??? Not you!!! He then asked if I thought about the job demoing cameras to other doctors...I told him to get a salary package together and call me back, havent heard from yet! Too funny!!!!

Tina - you sure made me laugh with that installation story but I don't know that I would have had the patience you showed. Guess it's just the ole lady in me!

Diana - I'm a bit of a neat freak to a point. Have way too much Disney stuff - starting to sort thru it this year and ebay some and give some away. At least that's my plan when I get back from my cruises in May.
Like I said there are a few neighbors around here like your Sanford n Son.

Oh well, it's a rainy day and I will get a move on and start packing away the winter clothes. Think it's safe to do that - it's Michigan after all!

But before I leave - I will post a few pics from Christopher's first birthday picture session

So Tina are you going to send the guy a bill for the install that you did? :thumbsup2

Mary the pictures of Christopher are adorable. I can't believe he's already 1 - where did the time go!

We've been lucky with the neighbors - no Sanford and Sons - knock on wood it stays that way!

Tina, wow, you have WAY more patience than I do! :lmao: I would have practiced my kickboxing on that guy!! Those cameras are pretty cool though, my dentist has one, although I prefer to not see in my mouth. :scared:

Mary, those pictures are absolutely adorable!! My favorite is the one with the cupcake, that was such a great idea to do it like that!!

Mary...The pictures of Christopher are adorabe...I love the cupcake one! can't believe hes 1 already!

As far as the install...I tend to have alot of patience, I guess that comes with having kids. So I let alot go, and have had many tell me that its sometimes too much. This guy was your typical I can sell you anything guy, and then didnt follow through with his sell. He promised to install if we bought the moniters and cameras. They were so nice, and the price was over 50% off at the meeting, that we went ahead and did it. The best thing is the patients can now watch tv on them, and not strain to see it when in the recline position. I love them!!! I of course have tried the camera on myself...LOL! I do have a few spots that I want fixed now...Dr was like oh no, I am in trouble!!!

Well, I have been at work for an hour now, and the work is piling up, I am here til 8pm, so I better get busy!!!

I love the cupcake picture, Mary. I can't believe it's already been a year! Time sure does go fast, doesn't it.

You must have the patience of a saint -- because I can't stand when someone doesn't do their job. It sounds like this guy was taking you for a ride and I feel for the next office he walks into and can't do an install.

Tina, maybe you should just figure out who else he's working with in the Chicagoland area, and then give them a call after he's done with the "job". I bet you could find yourself a lot of side jobs that way. :lmao:

Rainy day here in Chicago :umbrella: Is it May yet? :flower1:

The UPS truck just stopped in front and gave me my docs for the Trans-Atlantic cruise to the Med. My docs for my 4 nite just before this came last week so I guess it's time to start packing!

Thanks for all the kind remarks about Christopher's new pics.

Getting the docs just makes it more real! Now get back to that packing! :goodvibes

We are back from Az. Had a great time it was warm and sunny most of the days. The Grand Canyon and Sedona area's are breathtaking. We saw some wildlife, some of it up close. In the interest of keeping your attention I will just mention ELK................... I will do a short trip overview and post a few pics as time allows. Right now we are going to our daughters house to put up a new swingset for the grandaughters. I hope everyone here is well and I will check in again soon.

Enjoy the cruise Mary!

We have been busy around here. DH has still been working 80 hour weeks (getting very old) and I took a part time job a month ago (in addition to my home business) so I am working more than before. DD has been playing softball so we are GO, GO, GO right now. We have decided my car is on it's last legs so I went test driving yesterday and hope to be the new owner of a red convertible vw beetle. I want a red with beige leather seats and top which seems to be hard to come by. There is one being shipped from Texas to Seattle in a couple of weeks and I won't find out until next week if I can purchase that one or if it is pre-sold. I can't believe another new car since we just bought DH's in November. When it rains it poors! Good thing we received a nice tax refund and since DH has been working so much we have been saving money so I won't need to finance too much. I am taking DD to go check out the back seat of the car to make sure she can even fit back there. It is very tiny!!!!:hippie: Have a great weekend everyone!

Hey everyone - we're HOME!!! We had a GREAT time, but I am glad to be back home. I have NO energy to unpack, so it'll have to wait for tomorrow after Emily goes to school and Chris goes to work. I'll give a quick update on our cruise soon!!!
