Good morning everyone! Well I'll be at home today. Actually came home at 11 am yesterday and spent most of the day in bed. Must have caught something on the plane on Monday that is catching up with me now. Nasty sore throat, sinus pressure, just plain yuck! Tis the season I guess. The plan for today is more rest, plenty of fluids, and a quick run to the drugstore.

Thanks, Amy, for the clarification.

I agree that as much of a treasure as our completed books are going to be, that maybe we should try and commit to getting them completed quickly. As freqently as this group travels, imagine how many vacations we will take between when we start and now. Being we are a group of friends, isn't there always flexibility if one of us were to run into a problem and no be able to work on someones book for some reason? Couldn't we just skip over that person at that time and then back track later? I know it's not ideal, but as you said, life does happen.
Oh, most definitely!! I think that's the problem with some of the traditional CJs that I've been in. People weren't flexible.

For example, I was in a CJ where one woman had some life issues that were not allowing her to keep up with our CJs. But, unfortunately, instead of just taking down the size of the album and sending it on and just asking the next person to leave her a space and send her pages later, she kept it a secret. She made people think that she had sent it on and the USPS lost it, so that she would have more time.

I don't want anyone to ever feel overwhelmed by this. We are all friends, not strangers, so we will always understand. That's why I suggested the Yahoo group too, because then we can discuss these types of things if they come up.

Sorry it's taken me so long to chime in on this, but yesterday was sooo busy I never even had time to check the thread.

I also vote for option #2. As a relatively new scrapbooker, my only question is: With so many more people in our group, will we still do two pages per person? I figure that if we do we're looking at around 50 pages in the scrapbook by the time you include sign-in pages and a theme page. Can you even fit that many pages in a scrapbook? Sorry if these seem like dumb questions, but I'm still new at this!

ETA: I will go along with whatever the group decides about Yahoo, etc. However, as someone said, the privacy that you have with a Yahoo group does have advantages.

::yes:: Well I guess it really depends on what type of album you choose to use. You'd have a hard time adding pages to a spiral bound alblum, but just about any other type it can be done. Last night I filled mine for the CJ with enough extra page protectors for everyone to do a 2-page spread. It's a post-bound that came with 10 page protectors and I added another 20 to it no problem. Well, I was struggling to get it to lay flat, but that's because I forgot to remove a sticker on the plastic cover that says ""To Expand Poly Jacket When Adding Refills Remove Sticker". :rotfl2:

Sorry to hear your not feeling well Mary. Take care of yourself and feel better!

Speaking of not feeling well, Cindy how is Walker feeling? Are y'all still getting in some quality snuggle time or has he bounced back to his normal self?

Sorry to hear you are not feeling well Mary. Hope you get plenty of rest and get rid of that bug.

Time for catch-up:

Julie - Loved seeing the pictures. You were a beautiful bride. Thanks for sharing with us.

Mary - Hope you are feeling better soon.

Cindy - How's Walker doing?

Robin and David - Ian's party looked like it was a lot of fun. Great pictures!

Circle Journals - I vote for #2 because as a new scrapbooker/(old) procrastinator I would need the extra time in between to get them done. Also, 2 at a time seems like it would be a lot easier to do. Like MaryJ I'd like to know exactly how many pages we need in the circle journal? Would it be OK to send 2 smaller journals instead of one big one if we have the spiral kind of journal? I'm thinking this because I have a bunch I bought at the Disney outlet and it sounds like I would have to add pages to them and that may make them big and bulky, why not just send 2 for the cycle. I figure one in red and the other in black with sign-in pages in each where the other CJers can choose which one to do their spread in. I am very new to this so I have no idea what's acceptable and what's not.

Chris - I want to thank you for all you are doing for the Cedar Point meet in the summer. I didn't mean to sound like I didn't appreciate it in the last post about it, very much on the contrary. I just would like to know where the majority of the group is thinking about staying because that will help me justify my parents and Casey joining us especially if anyone is thinking of the cabins/cottages. I figure I can talk about it with them when I'm home over Christmas. Thanks again! :thanks:

Other Chris and Amy - Thank you for all that you are doing with the circle journals and pictures DVDs. I still owe you DVDs, I'll get that to you when we meet next. I really appreciate all that you are doing. That also goes for anyone else who is helping out with behind the scenes stuff for the group as well and for those I may have missed. :thanks:

Work has been a little crazy the last few weeks but will slow down until about mid-January.

For the CJ, I vote for having two books at a time. The time frame isnt that big a deal to me as I will HOPEFULLY be able to work on them while on duty here at the bulance

The Yahoo group sounds like a good idea.

I will start doing mine soon!

The Yahoo group would work great. It can be set up by invitation only (I think they still do that).

For the veteran CJer's, with this many people will a 2 page spread work for the sign in page?

I am going to make mine work with a 2 page spread for the sign in pages by making the cards removable and perhaps put them in a pocket or something. That way I can fit all the cards on 2 pages, they just won't all be displayed. You would have to take them out to look at them.

Just checking in to let you all know that I arrived home safely - in all about 18 and 1/2 hrs driving time and the fog in the mountains was not a good sign - almost got run off the road by a trucker who seemed to forget that he just passed me and the rest of his truck should have passed me too before he came over into my lane. Just picture me on my horn and blasting it, cussing a bit, and going off onto the shoulder so he didn't take out the front bumper of my car! Ugh!!! Didn't need that but it did make me so mad I decided to get a motel room for the night before I drove much further.
Got home around 2:30 this afternoon and napped, unpacked the car and I'm heading back to bed for some much needed rest. Will try to go back a read about 10 pages tomorrow morning when I find my mind again.

Mary - glad to hear you are home safe and sound! Yikes about the trucker!

Hey There!
Just got a chance to catch up!

Mary - Hope your feeling better soon!

Mary - made it home in one piece safe and sound. To bad the ride back wasn't a little smoother.

Cindy - How is Walker doing? Hopefully he is back to his energetic old self!

Well Nick's concert went wll tonight. The 6th graders played 3 songs then the 7th & 8th graders played 5 songs together. They had refreshments afterwards but everything was basically done in an hour!

I almost forgot. The coolest thing happened yesterday.
Our Kohl's dept store had a Kitchen Aid Stand mixer on sale for $169 (originally $249). Well Wednesday is Seniors day and they get an extra 15% off. Well I asked my Dad if he could pick it up for me (cough...cough...Dad gets the Senior Discount, cough...cough). Well they didn't have anymore of the mixers that were on sale so they substituted a better one for the same sale price. Well the one they substituted was originally $320, well with the sale price and the senior discount it came out to $154!!!!
Nick & I will be making plenty of cookies this weekend!!!

What a great deal! :thumbsup2 Hurray for dad and his senior discount.

Mary, glad you made it home safe and sound. Scary about the truck driver though.

::yes:: This is happening to me constantly, well every other time I hit a button on the screen. It sure is annoying and I can't wait until it's fixed. The worst is when I forget to copy what I want to post before hitting the button and lose everything. (Not gonna let that happen to this post. ;))
