Congrats on #1000, Mary!!

Looks like you guys had a great time in Chicago!! Cindy - I love that picture, and you should make it your Christmas card!!

I have a really good friend that lives in Berwyn. We visited him when we were up in Chicago over 4th of July this past year. I agree, Chicago is a wonderful city. But, I don't think that I'll ever leave the weather of Florida to go back to live. I love to visit, but won't ever live there again.

Nice pictures Cindy - that was a sweet display of the Castle! So, any details on upcoming news we should all know about???

Cindy - that picture will make a great one for a holiday card.

Mary - you are too funny with the cell phone comment. I had to go back and look at the picture again. :rotfl: Congratulations on your 1,000th post! I'm going to have to check the SSMC05 thread to see how long it took us to hit 1,000.

48 WEEKS UNTIL SSMC06!!!!

Annmarie

Someone please help - I can't see any photos that Cindy posts all I see are the lovely dotphoto daisys... it happens at work and at home so it's not a firewall. Suggestions?

Amy - congrats to you on reply #1000.

To those of you new to us we like to celebrate milestone posts and replies. Started when a number of us were on the Dec. 2004 10 day and continued into the Member Cruise thread.

Mary - they talked about being able to bank points and check our balances online but those of us on SSMC05 heard that already.

Basically almost everything they talked about we heard on SSMC05. In fact the young woman who did all the talking yesterday was the same one who intereviewed Jim Lewis on SSMC05.

Julie - this might be way to simple but are you sure you have show images turned on under User CP? I can't think of any other reason. Sorry.

You know, I'm already jealous of the folks that live in the Chicago area - You didn't need to add DVC parties on top of everything else! It's a wonderful city! My husband grew up in Berwyn, and I keep asking him if he wants to move back. Relive his youth and all that good stuff... :rolleyes1

Karen, my DH (Garfield) grew up in Berwyn. In fact, his parents owned a florist shop there while he was growing up. It still holds his family name to this date. Maybe your DH knows my DH -- wouldn't that be a Twilight Zone moment (that's a reference to something that happened a lot on the SSMC05 thread because of coincidences -- who knows maybe it will carry over to this thread as well :) ).

Where about in Berwyn did he grow up? My DH lived Harvey and then moved to Highland & 26th. Went to Komensky School.

I just realized that if we could have had Walker stand next to Cameron we would have looked like one of those ads for cell phones (you know the 5 bars in a row all getting taller. :)

Mary, your right. But, if you remember, Walker was playing the part of Grumpy yesterday morning. Just look at his face. :teeth:

Gosh, Julie, I know you mentioned that once before. I haven't a clue as to what the problem might be. Sorry.

Another thing that happened on the SSMC05 thread and will eventually come up here is a TOP.

Which translates to my post started the TOP of a new page.

I know that one confused me when it first happened. So, be prepared! :cheer2:

Yes - I can see all the other images, just not those. I see Amy's kiddos in her signature, all the photos everyone else posts - this happened all last year too. SAD. Thanks for trying Mary!

...and now's the time for scary things, like monsters, ghosts and vampire wings - and screaming yellow movies all drippy and drooly - like me, SVENGOOLIE

Back in the early seventies, when I was in high school (long, brown hair) :cheer2: , I met Svengoolie at a Turn-Style on Ogden Avenue in Downers Grove and he autographed my official Svengoolie sweatshirt.
:cool1: at the time

Hi everyone! I am pretty sure I am going to book the Member Cruise (if I am one of the lucky ones...) but I have a question I am hoping someone can answer for me. Does anyone know if there is a penalty if you book on Dec. 3rd, pay in full, then decide to cancel within the timeframe permitted? I guess my question is, is there a $75 fee if you cancel? I know they are waiving it to book, but I think you have to pay it if you make any changes and I am wondering if that means cancelling also.

We have been DVC members since 1998, but this will be our first Member Cruise. We were on the Magic in Oct. and will be going again next Sept. The Member Cruise will just be myself and DH. The kids will stay home with Grandpa and Grandma. :)

I look forward to getting to know everyone here!

Hi Krista! I pulled this information from the SSMC06 points chart: All reservations are subject to availability and the 60-day rule (see your Vacation Planner for details).

You may want to call on Monday and ask (but I'd be surprised if someone here doesn't respond with an answer). Annmarie

Hey there gang!
I missed the thread the last couple of days because we were BUSY!!!
Went to a Pampered Chef party Fri. after work and yesterday we had Cub Scout food drive bag pick up and Popcorn sales pick up and I threw Tastefully Simple party and just crashed last night.

Cindy & Mary - Looks like you guys had some great fun! I wish we could have joined you. Cindy, I think the pic of the family in front of the castle will be great for your Christmas Card, can't wait till I receive mine in the mail!! LOL!
We are using a picture of us from the cruise for our Christmas cards!

Mary - I agree about that group shot picture, I does remind me of the cell phone commercial, I thought that was pretty funny! :goodvibes

I almost forgot Mary, you'll never guess what happened Friday morning on the way to drop Nick off at my parents house. Traffic was stopped becuse some nicely plump turkeys were crossing the road and heading in the direction of Mom & Dad's house. They must have know that Dad invited all his Dis friends over for Thanksgiving! :rotfl2:
I wish I had my camera with me. They were pretty big, I'd almost venture to guess they were easily a 25lb size bird. There was at least a dozen of them.

Stacy, are you sure you don't live in the middle of farm fields? That is so "wild" to me. :rotfl2:

We don't live in the country by any means! I have them at my house too! In fact we see them on the side of the road a lot on our main highways. There must be a giant wild turkey population around here.

I also get deer in my yard, we don't live anywhere near the woods. :confused3 Maybe they know I'm not a hunter and take refuge here?

Trust me nothing against farmers and all but there is NO WAY I could live on a farm. I'm a city girl settling into being a suburban Mom. :teeth:
