I just think it definitely allows for a little more flexibility.

Gail has volunteered to coordinate the birthday and anniversary wishes! Thanks Gail!

I would love to design the t-shirt (totebag?).... I can show people some examples of my work....

We are going for early dining also....

We had someone do t-shirts for the group last year, another person did personalized pillow cases for the kids, and there were a number of other surprises as well from fellow DIS'ers.

Could I make a suggestion about the tshirts? I don't even know if it's a possiblity but for the brief week that we were booked on the 11 day cruise, the tshirt design that was put up on that thread was AWESOME!! I do not know the person who designed it, but IIRC, they were not on that cruise but did the design for it anyway.

Just a thought --- has anyone seen that design? I haven't kept up with that thread in a long time but I do remember it was awesome. I was thinking, maybe the person who designed that tshirt might be willing to design one for this cruise.

Just something to think about.

Just my 2 cents about the shirts. My suggestion is to come up with the design....I really really love the design for the 11 day.....and send it to one of those companies where everyone and anyone can go and order their shirt directly from the company. Personally I didn't buy the shirts from SSMC05 because of the lack of toddler sizing, but just as an outsider observing....it turned into a bit of a fiasco.

Is anyone anxious about getting on the cruise? If they sell out by 1:00-thats alot of competition.
Any insider tips I should know about?

Wow there seems to be lots of interest in the t-shirts. That's great!

I would like to see them available in every size like Diana said. Perhaps the best thing is that anyone who wants to do them come up with designs. We'll be happy to host them on the website and then people can vote on which one they like best.

Same with those who want to make them. Come up with some bids and state quality of shirt, sizes, prices etc. and we could bid on them.

I know that places like cafe press let everyone order their own and offer more than just t-shirts but also bags, mugs, and all kind of things.

Anyone else got any ideas?

Cindy/Diana - can you guys research who did the design for the 11 day and ask them if they would like to do a design for us. Laura would love to see your designs as well. Cheryl - were you looking at doing both design or production?

It did. I know a lot of work went into them but in the end, there were some hard feelings about the entire thing.

I like the suggestion of the designs being voted on by the group. I'm sure someone can figure out how to post a poll with the different designs.

I also like the idea of ordering directly through a vendor. It's just one less step for everyone involved.

I'll look at the 11 day and see if I can find out who created the awesome design.

I have read good things here on the DIS about both cafe press and zazzle. I'm sure their are pros/cons to each of them and we can probably figure them out once we come up on a design. I know personally, I don't mind paying a little extra to just order it through one of these companies.

Was the girls name Renee or Robin that did the 11 day design. It is really cool! I think she did the design for the May repo or maybe it was the Aug repo, but her stuff is always really well received. Peter (hygiene99) on the 11 day would have the name and contact info.

If we used something like cafe press would everyone be able to order any color shirt they want? If that's the case then only the design would be the same on all these different colored shirts. Not sure how that would work, but I definitely like a cafe press idea of ordering shirts then how it was done for SSMC05. Everyone orders what they want and no one gets stuck with unpaid merchandise.

We are still in for the cruise and are now trying to decide points vs cash vs combination.

I'd love to help out in some way, however, at this point volunteering for a job would be a bit crazy since I'm sure I'll be that woman covered in sunscreen with a HUGE floppy hat on her head at CC trying not to get a sunburn while sipping 4 coolers so I don't wig out about whatever wedding task hasn't taken place.

I think we're up for early dining again this cruise and we didn't have kids - we just enjoyed the flow!

You will not be allowed to take on any job! You're only job is to relax before your wedding....let us do the rest. :rolleyes1

Start calling at 9:00 and continually hit redial. Don't dial once and come back 20 minutes later and try calling again. Dial, hang up, dial, hang up, dial, hang up! I'm sure you get the picture :teeth:

A co worker of my sisters told her that they called every half hour and when they finally got through it was sold out - :earseek:
