Well, looks like we're out. For a cat 5 about $500 more then last year for two adults. Plus with the spa being closed during the cruise and only Castaway Cay as the ports of call DW and I aren't really as hyped for this cruise as we were for last years. DANG, really wanted to go again, maybe next time.

Does anyone know if we can choose who we pay points for? For example, can I pay points for me and DD3 and pay cash for DH and DD2? Like, does it matter?
I don't think that it matters. I think that we're going to pay for one adult and Madison with cash, and points for the rest.

I know what you mean. It would be nice if this cruise was just a little earlier for you, so that you could save some points/cash. Oh well, at least she can go to the clubs.

Yes, but the question is-- WILL she go to the clubs? :rotfl: She'll be starting preschool in September (I can't believe this myself!) so hopefully, we'll be over the shy bit. She did do really good in Flounders though, so I'm hoping for the best. I'm just really hoping Julia does ok in Flounders without Emma. Maddie will still be there, right? So hopefully, they'll become good friends and she won't miss her sister!

Yeah, Madison will be in Flounders, and remember, Emily will be in the club too. They won't be in the same age group, but since they do a lot of stuff together, at least she'll see Emma around.

Oh, and remember, I couldn't get Emily out of the club. She still talks about it. Sometimes she'll just tell us, I want to go to the club today. :rotfl2: I have to explain that she won't go to the club for a little while.

Kind of like how I had to explain to Emma the Mickey Mouse doesn't come to breakfast/lunch/dinner when we are eating here at our house! :rotfl2:

Our girls wanted me to put their napkins in their laps! LOL

Our boy will turn 3 in May. He better be potty trained by October! I bought him a playschool port a john toy the other day for his thomas set.... His workers love to go potty in there, I just hope it rubs off.

I know once he is in the club, we will never get him out... he loves movies, he loves the tree slide, he loves everything in there... (we spent time with him in there on our last cruise.)

Hello, Let me intruduce myself, I am OhanaFamily and RRBB's son Ian. I want to plan a soiree in flounder's for Julia, Madison and me. Might I have some insight into when we should book it? As I will be almost 2 and this will be my first cruise, Might I have a little help in planning when we will be in Flounders? Also, My parents seem to want to do the late seating, and want me to ask if we should try and get at the same table. They went on the member's cruise in 2003, and think that the later supper was better; I am not sure how it will effect my bed time.

I apreciate all of your help, and I can't wait for the PARTY!!!!!

Since it looks like many are still planning to book now would be a good time to go over some of the things we discussed when the cruise was first announced.

Mark already has the website up for this cruise and I'm sure will be updating it closer to booking day. Mark has also said he will again do the buttons for everyone since they seemed to be so popular on our last couple of cruises.

I have volunteered to do the photo gallery again, and set it up like the one we are doing for the May cruise (see the link in my signature below) as well as a mini-navigator for the ship.

Cindy has volunteered to organize early seating dining.

Diana/Amy have volunteered to organize the list of children cruising.

Gail has volunteered to coordinate the birthday and anniversary greetings!

We'll also be holding a DISmeet onboard the first day and most likely one the night before somewhere on Disney property. A lot depends on if DVC has a party the night before or not.

So come booking day it will be helpful if you could send the following information to us (please don't send it yet just keep this in mind for the 3rd).

Dis name of anyone in your party that has one.
Real names of eveyone in your party.
Cabin number
Birthdays of everyone in your party (optional)
Anniversary date (optional)
Year you bought into DVC and where you own (optional)
Early/late seating
Where you are staying the night before the cruise
Button? yes or no
Mini-navigator? yes or no
Photo (.jpg or .gif please)

We request that we get cabin numbers for anyone wanting a button. That way if you don't attend the DIS meet we can at least get it to you. If you do not want your cabin number posted on the website or in the mini-navigator please let us know.

It was suggested that we put down birthdays and anniversaries so that we can celebrate these on the thread as we are counting down to the cruise.

What we did last year that was very successful was to list where everyone owned and how long they had been an owner of DVC.

Again please don't send anything now but please keep in mind what we are looking for once you have booked.

If anyone would like to volunteer to do anything else please speak up. We will do our best to try and coordinate all efforts on the web page.

We had someone do t-shirts for the group last year, another person did personalized pillow cases for the kids, and there were a number of other surprises as well from fellow DIS'ers.

Hey Mary, I was going to wait until after we booked, so I didn't jinx myself....but I'd like to organize the list of the children cruising. That seemed to work well last year with getting penpals (do they even call them that anymore?) and helping us make friends with kids of the same ages. Amy has volunteered to help me out too!

Sounds great Diana! I'll update my post.

And someone :rolleyes1 who is always preaching to others about keeping their boxes swept has some housekeeping to do!

I was JUST going to say that!!! You know who you are!!!

Hey all, I have a question. After Ian posted this morning, RRBB and I had a discussion... Early or late seating.... Which is better with an infant? We like the late seating because we can stay in the room longer on the last day, but I am not sure about him eating at 8:30 at night....

Also, do we have to schedule Flounders in advance, and what about a crib in the room????? Help?!?

Thanks

I was wondering if anyone knows if the DVC cruise can be charged to the Disney VISA for the $75 onboard credit? This promotion exists for any Fall 2006 cruise, but will the DVC cruise also count if paying by cash (or even split with cash & points)? or is this cruise unique that the promotion won't count?

I would say probably not, but it is worth a try. The Cruise is a DVC charter, and it is booked through DVC.

BUT, You Could Call Disney Visa and ask.....

For the 05 cruise Disney Visa had a similar promotion running and I was told No that it wouldn't count. I guess I don't see their reasoning: Yes, DVC chartered the ship, but in the end I still booked a cruise on the Disney ship with my Disney Visa. DVC was just my TA in a sense! Guess it wouldn't hurt to ask again - which I will be doing!

Here's my take on it....and we've been on 3 cruises, 2 without kids and did late seating, 1 with kids and did early seating. With kids early is the way to go, and here's why. Especially with toddlers....the kid has to eat and no toddler is going to wait until 8:30 to do it! So you are going to be the one to feed him! So you have to go at 5 ish to the buffet or Plutos, or call for room service....and sit and feed. Then you have your show, then you have your dinner. So you are taking some time out to sit and eat, even though you really aren't eating, and still going pretty much nonstop from that point on. With the early seating, we all got dressed, went to dinner, then dropped the girls off at Flounders from 8-11 every night. We were able to go and actually sit and enjoy the show, and go up to the deck party at night. It worked out really really well for us and them, because there were no temper tantrums or fits, they played and slept while Mom and Dad had fun.

You know what they say, do as I say, not as I do. :rotfl2:

I definitely agree with Diana, usually, early is for us. Now, that being said, we are booked on the double dip cruise in May and early seating was already filled. So, we are scheduled for late. Our plan is to try to change it, but if we can't, we're going to make the best of it. We will feed the kids early (around 5-6pm), then go to the show with them. Then, we'll drop them off at the club/Flounders to enjoy their evening. And, we'll go to dinner and we will be able to enjoy a nice dinner. Now, if you have your heart set on eating your meals with your children, this doesn't work. But, we figure that it will work for us, because Emily always wants to stay in the club anyway, and Maddie just doesn't care. So, I think that it can work either way.

And, you asked about the crib too. You just have to request a crib and they will make sure that you have a pack-n-play.
