I'm a little latke, round and brown,
Here is my upside, here is my down.
When I am all ready, take a bite,
And eat me up on Hanukkah night.

Happy 3rd night of Hanukkah to all who are celebrating tonight.

Good morning everyone! Still got my nasty cough so I'm staying home one more day and will call the doctor this morning. Yuck! I'm sick of being sick!

Cheryl, Ilene & Robin, thanks for sharing!!! :)

Steve, cool commission there! :thumbsup2

Cheryl, very neat that you helped someone out. Those little things to so many that have such a big impact on others. :cheer2:

Mary, I'm glad your going off to the doctor today. It's time. ::yes:: Feel better pixiedust:

Happy Monday everyone! :wizard:

Morning all. Just checking in to see what's new.

I hope everyone that has been sick is now on the mend.

Ilene, Robin and Cheryl thank you so much for sharing with us. I too was interested in hearing all about Hanukkah. I feel bad to say that I really didn't know much about it.

Cheryl and Todd what a great story. It was so great that everything worked out for that family.

I am almost done shopping and wrapping. It really feels good. I am just waiting for a few presents to arrive. I finally was able to get the $29 Ipod shuffles and they are supposed to be here before 10am today.

So what did everyone think about Survivor last night? I was soooo happy. The next season looks good too. I can't wait.

First of all - Way to go Cheryl, what a nice thing to do! :woohoo:

Mary, I hope you are able to get something from the Dr to get some relief. pixiedust:

We had a very busy weekend starting Saturday morning with a drive up to Mt. Pleasant. We loaded some of Dawn's stuff into John's truck, then went to a luncheon for the graduates and then on to the graduation ceremonies. Dawn's pretty excited that those 4 years are done. Of course she failed to tell us that she was graduating with honors! After graduation we went back to her apartment and finished packing up her stuff and then hit the road for the 2 1/2 hr drive back.

Yesterday was spent at my sisters celebrating Christmas a week early. My brother and his two daughters came in from Cleveland for the day.

Now I need to concentrate on my Christmas shopping. Other than what I needed for yesterday I haven't done anything else. This is quite odd for me, I'm usually done by the first of December.

I've pretty much been a Yul fan all along so I was happy. Can't wait for the next one and the Allstar Amazing Race.

I wasn't horribly surprised that Yul ended up pulling it off. I was somewhat surprised though b/c Ozzie had never been two faced or obviously deceitful. I was very surprised that Jonathan voted for Yul. After all, it was Yul who told someone he didn't like Jonathan but when Jonathan confronted him he was stuttering and had obviously been "caught."

Everyone here was rooting for Ozzie.

I was very happy to see Yul win, but would have been fine with Ozzy winning as well. I think what made the foursome strong was the two of them. I found it very funny watching the women trying to make fire and everyone else yawning and falling asleep. Not saying I could have done it but still funny.

We were bummed! :( We had hoped that Ozzy would win. I was surprised by how Jonathan voted against Ozzy. It seemed that Ozzy's age was held against him. And, I thought it was unfair that Ozzy was asked to dish up some dirt on the other two, yet they weren't asked for their dirt. I do think that politically Yul played a better game, but when it came to the challenges, Ozzy wasn't to be beat!

We are also looking forward to the new season. :thumbsup2

This is the first time we've watched Survivor in this house. We're in the process of renting and watching the second season - which is the one that Gary's cousin is on. My kids think it's cool to see someone they "know" (although they have never met her) on the show. And, it's kind of weird how much she looks like Gary's sister.

Well the doctor's office has been called and I've talked to one of the nurses (though not the one I usually deal with). Just need to wait for the doctor to come in and see what he prescribes. Should have something waiting at the pharamcy by early afternoon. No need to come in unless he says to and she'll call me back, but at this point I think they are so busy with people being sick that it is easier to just do it over the phone.

Yes, the fire tie breaker was pathetic. I think that's why Becky didn't get one single vote. If you're out there for 39 days and can't light a simple fire, you don't deserve to win.

Sure, I can't light a fire now. Well, I can LIGHT it, it just dies out quickly, but then again, I'm not trying to win a game and stay alive!! :)

Well, I guess I won't bite my tongue, LOL. I much rather stick my foot in my mouth like I usually do ;) If you have a common cold ie: viral there really isn't anything you can take...especially an antibiotic. If you have an infections than fine maybe it will help youto take an antibiotic. You usually just have to wait a cold out. There are some non prescription things that may help shorten the course: Oscillocinnium (we use it so often in our house we call it OC), zinc lozenges etc. Please don't take an antibiotic if you don't have a bacterial infection as you WILL reduce your body's capacity to fight bacterial infections in the future.

We wanted Ozzie to win too. But we weren't too disappointed because Yul was our early favorite. We think Jonathan voted for Yul because he brought back Jonathan's hat.

Yup. We have quite a bit of OC here in this house, but since Mike started taking Zoloft it's been a lot better. I do see the tendencies in KT though, but nothing we can't work through without medication at this time.

:lmao: :lmao:

I agree, Ilene. I've never had a doctor that will prescribe for me over the phone. In a rare case, I've been able to get a prescription for someone else in our family if we've had strep, but normally our doctors insist that we come in for an office visit. Which is why we've been freqenting the treatment center more often this year.

Those who are under the weather, I hope your feeling better soon pixiedust:
