I bet we can reach a compromise... I mean Ian will want to drool al over you.....:)

:jumping2:

I don't mind drool....drool I can deal with....it's the hugging I can't handle! :scared:

You're funny Julie....I'll let Diana have her personel space but I too am a hugger.....It must be an Italian thing!
Stacey/Jeff (whichever you are) I bet being thrown into the Mickey pool would adjust her Ideas of personal space:crowded:...(just kidding, I don't think I could handle the wounds inflicted by the attempt...)

:jumping2:

OK Diana, I will drop it for now... I can let Ian give you huggs and kisses if he so chooses; Hopefully I will be able to talk you out of one of the sought after hugs by the end of the cruise...

My son and daughter-in-law are coming on this cruise. They will bouth be 26 at the time of the cruise and married for 2 1/2 years. Are there any other young couples on this cruise or will it just be us old folks? :confused3

Diana & Ann Marie - glad you are both feeling better!

As for hugging or not hugging - I like to respect everyone so I usually let others make the first move. I'm all for hugging but not if someone is bothered by it.

We are all individuals and have our own little quirks. One of the great things about this thread is it gives us time to learn them. Some people want to lurk and not get involved in the group. Others want to be in on all the action. Some are shy (yes even though I may post a lot I too am really shy in person) while others are outgoing. IMHO the important thing is not to focus on what you yourself is but to focus on what others are and respect that.

So someone who may not post much I may pay more attention to so they feel welcome. Someone who is new to cruising and asks a question should get helpful responses even if the question has been asked on the boards many times. They weren't reading then.

Oh I want to be young! We are 33 (me) and 31 (Matt) and Matt will be 32 by the cruise but we act young on occasion! Are they DISers? They should join the thread - we'd love to get to know them pre cruise!

Julie (chipscinderelly) and Matt are young and single but they are getting married the weekend after the cruise. :cool1:

Ooops, , I didn't see that Julie snuck in here right before I replied. Hi Julie! :wave2:

BTW, you are young!

Um, This IS A DISNEY CRUISE, We are all young and they may be too mature for us...

PS, Mary, that was spoken with true legaleeze... I will certainly respect Diana's space. Usually if when approaching someone for a hug if they start to froth at the mouth I know how to respect the distance.

Unfortunately on this site we tend to get really close without the proximity. It is sometimes hard to know how physical sensitivities are... I also am leary of giving hugs to married women, esp those married to law enforcement personnel...

So, SWAQOTD, at th meet are you a hug or no hug person...I guess we can have a seperate category for biting...

:jumping2:

It's taken me days to catch up.

Mark, Mary, Todd and Cheryl, Have a great time on your trips.

Mark, the logos looks great. I thought you might have used Fireworks to make it.

As far as hugs go, just like Mary, I respect people's privacy as well. I'm not adverse to them but I don't usually make the first move either.

As of now, I'm sailing alone and I appear to be young, 32.

Robin, Congratulations on your Millionaire win. That may be old news but I just noticed it when accessing this thread. When did you win it? What was the Million-dollar question? Did you use any lifelines?

I don't know, but I'm going to be 37 and DH will be 39 on the cruise and I don't consider myself old. But, I'm sure a 26 yo would think that I was old. :rotfl2:

Thanks Jeff!

Flying out omorrow, going to do a quick Barnes and Noble run for reading since I have a long flight.

You all are young. Just wait until you get to be my age. Then it's not so young anymore.

OMG, I have friends who have grandchildren my own kids age. :sad2:

My kids are all spread out so its makes me old and young! My boys are 18, 15 3 and 5. Only the 3 youngest though will be on the cruise. My oldest will be off at his first year of college next fall.

I still can't believe I'm the "baby" of the group! I'm always the old one. I'll be 33 on Christmas Day.

Cindy, don't feel bad....I have a 12 year old sister. When we go places people always think I'm her mother. I guess I could be. My stepmother is 43, only 10 years older than me. :confused3

The strangest thing to me is that when I was younger (much younger and not married), I swore I was not going to be the "old" mother in school. I grew up with the "old" mother as a child, my Mom was 37 when I was born, which back then was like a dinosaur. All my friends in school had younger mothers, I had the Mom who was the grandmother of grandchildren close to my age.

But, somehow life didn't happen the way I thought it would and here I am, 44 with kids (at least one) young enough to be my own grandchildren. Cameron's 11 so it's a bit of a stretch for him to be my grandchild, but Walker at 5 could easily be.

Gary has been asked many times if he is the kids grandfather. :rolleyes1 That tells me that some people just don't think before they open their mouths. I hope I never put my foot in my mouth like that -- there are just some things, IMO, that shouldn't be asked --- is that your grandchild, are you pregnant, are you married and pregnant. I'm just surprised that people comment on others lives sometimes the way they do  especially when they are strangers.

Speaking of foot in the mouth....this is a funny story. When Emma was born Labor Day Weekend, 2 1/2 years ago, Madison, my sister was 10. The proud aunt she is, went to school the first day and told all her friends about her new niece and how tiny and cute she is. Well the teacher comes up to her and says she shouldn't lie, lying is bad. :earseek: So Maddie says, I'm not lying, my new niece Emma was born this weekend and I even have a nephew who is 4. The teacher apparently jumped all over her and called my stepmother that night to address these lies. :rotfl2: So my stepmother was like, huh, now come on....10 year olds lie, all kids lie, but how does a 10 year old come up with a lie about a niece?? Of course she has a niece. The teacher must have felt like a complete moron after she was set straight. In today's age, you can never be like that. All sorts of family possibilities exist.

I went to school with a guy who's uncle was a year younger than him.

The problem we have is that some people think I'm Mark's mother. That's always fun!

Now that you mention that...I have two uncles that live in FL who are 18 and 20! :rotfl2: The men in my family apparently like to get remarried to much younger women and have more kids. :confused3
