And.. Mary's somehow confused again. The plan is for us to stay there just Fri night, parking can get iffy for people not staying there when there's a big show in the convention ctr across the street.

And here's a map. On the top left is a green highlighter, that's where Gino's East is, the map program don't list it for some reason. The Doubletree is off the bottom right, along River Rd, just barely off this map.

There's not a lot else in the immediate area, the hotels have a restaurant each in them. And all the immediate hotels and the convention center are connected by indoor walkways, so you don't even have to go outside if you want to go to the craft fair.

I'll put together another map with directions to get to the hotel when the meet gets a bit closer.

(edit)

OOOkay. Mary calls me up..'Your map looks like crap', gee thanks. I even made it open in a new window to avoid an IE 'feature'. :badpc:

So, when viewing, if the map looks like crap, you need to go into IE:

Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced and turn off 'Enable automatic image resizing'.

Then open it again and it'll be perfectly readable.

What a surprise I'm confused again. I'm going to make hotel reservations for Friday night. :)

Also when I tried to look at the map it looked distorted. Mark is going to edit his post to show you what settings you need to make it look good.

Off to the doubletree site.

Ok we are booked for Friday night. So count us in on any get togethers Friday night, and Saturday morning. We'll head home after lunch on Saturday (which is when I think a lot of the group will be headed downtown to see the store windows and lights).

Ooops, sorry about the mix up there. I did remember Gino's though.

Amy, I take it you are in for 4? ;) :teeth: ;)
Oh, no big deal, we like Gino's a lot, and we can't get that down here. We have a Giordano's in Orlando, but it's just not the same.

And yep, count us in for 4 (or 3.5 if you count Maddie as a pint-sized person).

Sandy and I live 2 hours south of Diana, so we are "close by".

Really? You drive it up there then. I had enough of driving to Albany a year ago! :scared1:

Hi Jeff. Sandy and I live within walking distance to NY. If you were on Route 17 by Sharp Plaza, you were 5 minutes to our house! We'd love to see you next time you drive by our area.

Um, Judy, I suspect you meant walking distance to NJ. We LIVE in NY. It's easy to tell, it smells better and the drivers are less crazy.

Wait--does this mean we're not going?? I had the car all packed and gassed up, ready to take off.

Now I have to seriously think about driving out solo. It'll be hard, but I may be able to pull it off. Who's couch can I crash on??
Oh, I'm sure that we could find some room for you somewhere!!!

And for Firefox Users go to Tools -> Options -> Advanced and uncheck Resize large images to fit browser window

Great Pics Julie!

But what I want to know, how did Matt like the Cannons shooting out the petals? Was he surprised?

I know you had sworn us to secrecy!

j

HE WAS SHOCKED!!! LOL I don't have a photo but I hope our photographer does. Matt's comment was Oh S*** lol and he was still wearing the videographer mike at that point so we'll see what it says. I can't wait for the video of it.

:lmao:

I drive down your way about once a month to visit the family.....and take the mandatory detour to Woodbury Commons. :lmao:

I don't know if we'll be down Wednesday night:scared: or early Thursday morning. I've driven in that night before Thanksgiving traffic WAY too many times coming home from Plattsburgh. But I'm toying with the idea of going to the parade and maybe going into the city Wed night to see the balloons getting inflated.

Now that video would be fun to see! Petals being shot out! WOW! You definitely pulled out all of the stops!

FANTASTIC!!!

Stacy the pictures you took of Julie's wedding were great! I love the lighted ice hands - what a cool idea!

We're staying Friday and Saturday. We're probably not getting in until 8ish on Friday.

I'll go to Archivers Sat morning and count all 3 of us in for lunch Saturday afternoon. Gino's sounds fine with us.

Diana you can share the couch bed with Deanna in our room! Seriously, get out there and we'll find someplace for you to sleep!

Just checking in today. We are talking about going to Cedar Point. I sure hope I can talk Tom into it.

Julie your pictures are amazing. Can't wait to see more.

I really wish we could make it to Chicago. I would love to see everyone again and see the lights. We are going in Feb. so no Dec trip for us.

Ilene I hope you are feeling better soon too. I only wear Easy Spirit sneaks too since my feet are so wide. I bought a pair of the Athens when we returned home from home from the cruise after seing so many of you wearing them. I can't believe how much better my heel feels in them. I just ordered a pair of the scutes to wear with socks. I figure if I keep them behind the register at work no one will see me in them. You can't really sell socks and not wear a pair at work.:thumbsup2

I asked the foot doc about crocs. He said they exhibited at a professional conference he went to. Although he has not personally worn them he feels
any shoe without a back can be an issue. He highly recommends them for standing though for the great cushion but he says not for walking, although
a little better if you wear the ankle strap. He says they just don't give enough support to the heel, although the manufacturer disagrees with that.
Where as my ankle is part of the problem and it only started since I started to wear crocs regularly (previously sneaks..reebok) I think I will hold off on getting those Disney ones :-( and reduce my croc wearing days. He did recommend Reebok DMX and that is what I normally purchase anyway so I instinctively knew what was best for my foot. I'm gonna try wearing my Islander crocs more and see if I have the same problem.

Ummm, Julie, I LOVE the hands/sorbet thing. I'm gonna have to borrow that for something :-) That's just the best!
