I was thinking about this tonight as I sat at Cub Scouts. I think it might be a good idea to make reservations for lunch for the Chicago get together in December. That would be Saturday, 12/2.

I'm willing to do the calling -- I just need to confirm the place (Amy, I'm thinking Gino's was your choice, is that right???) Being this all started with your coming up here, Amy & Chris, I think it's only fair that we go to your restaurant of choice :) .

If you could reply here so I can get any idea of who to expect, that would be great. Also, do we have a timeframe in mind? How many of us are staying at the hotel Friday night? Are we planning on shopping at Archivers in the morning pre-lunch?

I just think with the holidays coming it's best to plan ahead. ::yes::

So, who's all in???

We are! We are! :yay:

Curt and I are staying at the hotel both nights. Gino's sounds Italian, which is always a good choice! Everyone knows that I'm not exactly a morning person, but I can deal when I have to (Remember the 9am Roy Disney talk??? :faint: ). Although I may regret it, I would like to check out Archivers. Now that I've gotten a taste of scrapbooking, I can definitely see how it can become addictive... :scared:

Good morning everyone!
Well yesterday I went to foot doc for a painful problem I'd been having with my foot that wasn't responding to anything I had been trying and seemed to be getting slightly worse. Turns out I have a tight short calf muscle that is causing the tendons on top of my foot to be stretched and that is causing the pain. Also a "hypermobile" ankle joint that may be adding to the issue. The fix is to wear a brace at night, which I've been doing and actually seems to help..surprise! He also recommended orthotics but at $400 for the pair I had to skip right now. Someone told me they sell inserts in stores like Walmart. Has anyone here tried any of them and have they helped? A shot in the dark, I know but we are a pretty big group so I thought I'd ask.

Julie the wedding pics are wonderful. It looks like a dream come true wedding! Thanks for sharing.!
Stacy's pics are awesome too. Love the ice hands.

Great Pics Julie!

But what I want to know, how did Matt like the Cannons shooting out the petals? Was he surprised?

I know you had sworn us to secrecy!

The sorbet in the light up cups is really neat!!

You are a perfect candidate for the job of taking pictures of everyones food. Glad Julie put you on task with it. ;)

Great photography there --- just how did you manage to take the picture of the group and still be in it. :rotfl2:

It does look like a beautful wedding. Awesome you were able to participate!

Ilene, I hope your feeling better soon.

I had some inserts made for my feet when I had the plantars facia -- aka heel spurs. I'm thinking that's probably what your doctor suggested. I have heard people say that the ones by Dr. Scholl -- the gel ones -- feel good on their feet. I do know when I started wearing the inserts made for my feet, I could only do so for an hour at a time as it was a change in the way I walked getting use to them. I don't honestly know if they helped or if time helped to heal my pain but if I were you, for the cost, it's certainly worth a try.

Good luck. pixiedust:

Not strange when you are as much of a klutz as I am. I broke the other ankle tripping up a curb at DixieLandings about 10 years ago. It's much better now though. Thanks for asking. But the doctor checking my ankle told me I had Plantar Fasciitis in my right heel. I can't catch a break with my feet lately.

Seeing Ilene's response, I just realized I didn't comment on your foot problems. When I went through the heel spur, the best thing they did for me was wrap my foot. Cordisone didn't seem to help and was painful. But, when they wrapped my foot in the manner to relieve the pressure off the spur, it felt very good. I went back for about 1 month having it wrapped and rewrapped and over time, the pain has subsided.

The one thing I learned is never to walk bare foot.

I use to be able to tell when I needed a new pair of Easy Spirit gym shoes by the way my foot would start to help. There must be something in the support that helps to keep the pressure off. Now I wear crocs a lot of the time and it doesn't seem to be bothered. In fact, when I wear my gym shoes, my feet hurt.

I hope your feeling better soon. pixiedust:

Good morning all. I realized I didn't answer some of Cindy's questions about the Chicago meet. We won't be staying overnight as the hotel is only about 15 minutes or so from our house. We're up for dinner on Friday night if anyone is interested, I'm up for the trip to Archiver's, and we are both up for lunch.

Hey Cindy - actually, I think that Gino's was Mary's suggestion, since it was in the Rosemont area. But, we love Gino's so that's fine for us. We have to have some Chicago pizza when we're up there.

I think that it would be cool to go to Archiver's in the morning, then have lunch. I'm in for just about anything that day.

I think I did mention Gino's as it seems to be a popular spot for Chicago DIS meets.

Here is what else is in the area if you are up for something else:

Ooops, sorry about the mix up there. I did remember Gino's though.

Amy, I take it you are in for 4? ;) :teeth: ;)

Go ahead Curt post away!!!!!!

Wait--does this mean we're not going?? I had the car all packed and gassed up, ready to take off.

Now I have to seriously think about driving out solo. It'll be hard, but I may be able to pull it off. Who's couch can I crash on??

Rose - where are you in Philly? DS goes to St. Joe's.

QUOTE]

I am in the Far Northeast. On the Bucks/Philly/ Montgomery county border. About a 50 minute drive from St. Joe's. We are as close to the city limits on the other side of the city as I think St. Joe's is on it's if that makes any sense typed out.

Ilene I hope you are feeling better soon too. I only wear Easy Spirit sneaks too since my feet are so wide. I bought a pair of the Athens when we returned home from home from the cruise after seing so many of you wearing them. I can't believe how much better my heel feels in them. I just ordered a pair of the scutes to wear with socks. I figure if I keep them behind the register at work no one will see me in them. You can't really sell socks and not wear a pair at work.:thumbsup2
