It would be neat if they'd start selling to DVC members on the cruise. I'm not sure that we're in the financial shape right now to buy, but that would be a hard one to pass up, since AKL was designed by the same guy that did VWL and it's the ONLY place we have points. DD's and I stayed at AKL a few years ago, and I have to say it's my favorite resort next to VWL.

I think that it would be WONDERful if they allowed us to buy onboard next week. I'm just thinking that if they are going to be ready next fall, then they are going to start selling soon. Maybe that's why they are offereing members $15/point off for SSR right now, because they know that they are going to sell VAKL at full price. I told Chris about it, and he said that maybe we'll have to add on another 50 points at VAKL, not that we need them, but it would be pretty cool. Maybe I can convince him to get 70 points, to bring us up to a total of 400 (we have 330 VWL points).

Ann Marie, my dd just called about a half hour ago from Oakland University and said it was snowing really hard. I just looked out the window and it's now snowing really big flakes outside here

Hey Gail that is where I went to nursing school. It sure has changed since I graduated.

We just had a blizzard here. I couldn't see the neighbors house and now there are huge flakes. It would be beautiful if it was December.

I'm off to do that pre cruise ritual....the pedicure!! Of course, this would be the coldest day of the fall, and I'll have to wear flip flops on the way home because I'm sure the polish won't be dry! Oh well, I'll just crank up the heater in the car.

Sounds like fun, Mary!! I'm going to try to do mine next week sometime, because you just have to have pretty feet for 2 days at the beach!!!

Still morning here in Utah too. That's the problem. The East Coast gets going about 4 a.m. my time every morning! Then there is 20 pages + to catch up on!

Well sweetie thats what ALARM clocks are for. You'll get used to 4 am before long and then you will already be on East coast time when you get to Fla.

Did you all read the reports on the DVC forum that they announced there will be DVC Villas at Animal Kingdom Lodge? Pretty cool. We won't be buying points there but would be willing to try it at some point just like we've tried almost all the other DVC locations.

Very exciting! LOL now not exciting enough at this point for us to sell our smaller SSR contract and add on AKL, unless they put some strange rules in place on staying there then I might consider it!

Here's hoping Contemporary gets some ground soon - I really want DVC there.

"Development of the Animal Kingdom Villas is scheduled in phases, with units to begin opening in fall 2007. The project is scheduled to be completed by spring 2009.

The first phase will include 134 remodeled accommodations on the fifth and sixth floors of the Animal Kingdom Lodge, and additional phases will include the building of 324 vacation properties in a new building at the resort."

So if the member cruise is really Oct 21 next year we could all stay at AKV. That would be so much fun. I have always wanted to stay there.

Hi from Delaware! Arrived safe and sound yesterday afternoon after driving thru rain til I got to PA and then hit rain again when I got to DE. All in all it wasn't too bad. From what dd told me this morning on the phone, I left just in time - sounds like white stuff is falling from the sky again. Only white stuff I like to see falling from the sky is..... Disney snow!
Off to have a fun day with sis so I'll try and check in later or maybe chat tomorrow. Not sure but will see ya soon!

Mary! Glad to hear you're thru the first leg of the trip.

Eh, the snow is a freak cold snap that isn't even sticking to the ground here. By afternoon probably won't even know we had any. And it is cold, something I know you don't welcome at all. Have fun down there, we'll see you very soon!

Good quality or not, I would never spend $75 for a t-shirt. It would have to be encrusted with gold!! Heck, I have a hard time paying over $30-40 for any piece of clothing. I guess that I'm just a cheapskate!!!

Imagine my pain when I bought Coleen her fur coat!

I just turned off the air conditioning the other day!!!!

LOL we still have the AC in the on and tonight it's going to be 40 so today will be a heat and AC day!

What can I say I've been involved in some very chatty threads. If you do a sort of the cruise meets threads I've been involved in 4 of the top 10.

#1 Blabbermouths - 50,914 of which 3,060 are mine (#6 on that list)

#2 Dec. 04 10 day holiday cruise - 26,307 of which 2,821 are mine (#2 on list)

#4 This thread 22,520 of which 2,298 are mine (I'm #3)

#10 SSMC05 thread 14,318 of which 1,759 are mine (I'm #2)

By the time its all said and done 3rd place is very reachable possibly even 2nd!

Thank goodness they are planning more or we'd all have to buy to stay there! I've not read the article yet (thanks Cheryl for the link) but have heard that the GV will hold more people possibly than other resorts - WOO HOO!

Thats a good reminder - If you ever wanted to stay at AKL conceirge on points - you should do so soon otherwise you'll have to use cash when DVC at AKL opens.
