Feel free to give me a call Friday morning for a live update.

What time are you leaviing Florida?
Our flight leaves Tampa bright and early at 6:40am, arriving in Chicago Midway at 8:20am. You'll still be sleeping when we're getting on the plane because it'll be 5:10am your time.

Winter Storm warnings for the weekend and today it was 65 - it's no wonder everyone around here is sick.

I was thinking the same thing. It was 60 again today yet they are talking 20s and 30s for the weekend.

Safe travels to all for the weekend! pixiedust:

Cheryl, I'm glad you're doing better. Here's to getting back to 100% real soon! pixiedust:

We are gearing up for a possible storm here as well. Tomorrow morning it's supposed to be in the 20s which is VERY cold for Texas this time of year.

Cheryl - so glad you are back at home and hope you are feeling better already!

Got a nice surprise when I came home today. There was a sticker on the front door saying there was a package to be picked up at FedEx. It was the Disney Dollars we got for a DVC referral. The person buying was someone we sailed with back in 2004!

I actually did a lot better than I thought I was going to. On our first day, I went out farther than I could stand. The water was SO clear I could see the bottom. Good thing I didn't see anything down there or I'm sure the lifeguard would have had to rescue me (instead of Walker  ). :fish:

At one point, I think it was the second day, I was laying on a raft chit chatting with Gail & John & I'm thinking Judy & Sandy were there as well. There was this stingray swimming back and forth right in the area we were at. I have to say I was pretty impressed that those in the water actually staying in the water and didn't run onto the sand.

Yes, it was Sandy and me. I think I jumped on my raft!

We are watching the weather too. It's not looking like a great drive over on friday. We were going to be late but this will make it even later! I'm glad the kids will sleep in the car!;) Come sleet or snow we will be going!:goodvibes See all of you on friday!:sunny:

I did get home last night. The dr.didn't restrict my diet, one of the nurses recommended it. The no chicken broth is also Kosher, but it is tasty. Having a hard time sleeping on my back. We have to kick the cats out because I can't have a 20 pound cat sitting on my stomach.
ok chair is getting uncomfortable, moving to couch.

Cheryl

Hi Cheryl. Hope you are feeling better today and that every day gets easier. :cheer2:

So glad you're home Cheryl. Take it easy and feel better. (BTW, IMO there's no better chicken soup than Kosher chicken soup.

What are you talking about, "this time of year"? Temps in the 20s is VERY cold for us any time. ;) But it looks like the forecast has changed a bit and no winter storms just yet, and freezing temps are holding off until tomorrow night. If I had my way we'd never get them - I hate cold weather!:cold:

Safe travels to everyone headed over to Chicago. We really wish we could be there. Rich would like to get out of the dinner we are going to and go to the High School football Championship game instead; but this icky cold weather we too will be getting is keeping him from that.

G'mornin folks!

Here's the weather update for everyone travelling:

http://www.wunderground.com/radar/mixedcomposite.asp?region=a4&size=2x&type=loop

Again, the green is the rain, pink is freezing rain, and blue is snow.

As you can see, it's a very narrow band, which is still uncertain at this early hour of where it's going to hit. My personal guess right now looking at this is it's going to hit from downtown to the south and southeast.

Chicago is prepared, all the snow removal crews are set to be ready to go as needed, so whatever hits should be dealt with quickly here. And it's going to hit tonight into early tomorrow morning, so the city should be cleaned up before most arrive.

For everyone driving over from MI, be careful! This has the potential to be very messy right along the the 80/94 corridor as it sweeps east Friday morning.

I'll post an update this afternoon.

Good morning everyone. Let me echo Mark's statement. Those of you driving over from the East please be careful. Amy it looks like you guys might have some challenges as well depending on where the band of snow hits.

GREAT!!! I just did my online check in, since our plane leaves so early tomorrow morning. Well, we'll just have to see how it all goes in the morning.

Amy, your plane is taking off at 5:10? You'll probably board at 4:50 or so. We get up close to 5:30 anyway, so I will give you a call around 5, if you want so you can be prepared as to what to expect. The airport is going to be on top of things. The city should be on top of the removal but I bet your going to be arriving around rush hour.

But......I'm sure you remember that no one in Chicago can remember how to drive on snow so I'm betting that will be the toughest part. Maybe you should plan on breakfast at Midway airport before heading out.

As much as I'd love to see you in the morning, if the roads are bad, just give me a call to say your not coming my way or I'll be worried that something happened. pixiedust:

pixiedust: to all traveling through any storms.

Actually, our flight leaves at 6:40 EST, so 5:40 CST, that's why I said that we'll be boarding at around 5:10am your time. I know that you're right that the airport will be on top of the weather, but we worry about the traffic. We'll just take it easy and see how it goes.

Which is the best route to take - go through Chicago or take 294 around the outside of the city?

We are going to leave about 1 PM (EST). This should get us to the south end of Chicago about 4PM (Chicago time) barring any slow ups due to weather.
