Mary, Cindy, Amy, and (hopefully) Diana ~ Would you mind bringing your CJs along when we meet up in Chicago? I know that you brought them to Michigan, but now that I have a little bit of an idea about scrapbooking, I'd like to take a closer look at a couple of things. If it's not too much trouble, it really would be helpful... :flower3:

Well, I was in ACmoore this afternoon and I was looking over all the scrapbook stuff, actually I was in there to find a frame for the Ducky
Williams notecards, but as I was looking it all over, dollar signs kept
coming into my head. I think I'm going to have to back out of the CJ's.
I really want to do them but if we have to mail out all those journals
every month I don't think it's something we can afford right now. How
much was it costing to send the journals along last time? I thought
I would be OK because you don't have to spend alot to make a nice page
but I forgot about the shipping costs. If someone can estimate what it
would cost please let me know so I can make a decision about this.
THanks!

Ilene - I think that shipping depends on how you send it. If you send it first-class, it would take longer, but it is a bit cheaper. Or, you can send it USPS Priority Mail, which means that it's about $5-6 per mailing. Now, if you're near someone (I don't have my sheet right next to me), then I could have you "mail" to that person, and you can get together to pass off your CJ. I think that you said that you're near Annmarie (maybe???). I would hate for you to back out, we want you in!!! But, I understand if you need to.

for the scouts..we actually saw some today at Publix I gave $5 no popcorn sorry!!

Cheryl, I'm sure they appreciated the $5. In fact, donations go directly towards the pack -- as in, there is no overhead to pay for the popcorn. :) Any and all donations are accepted and very appreciated in our pack.

Ilene, I did the mailing of mine and Mary (wdwlvr's) CJ's to MaryJ each month. I used USPS Priority shipping and I want to say that it didn't cost me any more than $9/per shipment and that was for the 2 books (double the weight).

As Amy said, if you are near someone, you could share the cost of the shipping which would help to keep the cost down.

You are right in that you can create some awesome pages without a lot of $$ investment. Again, like Amy said, it would be sad to have you drop out because of the cost of shipping but I also understand.

Steve, cute pictures of the girls!!

I take it they are sisters? I'm going to guess your older granddaughter is about 9 and the younger one is about 3. Am I close?

(*&^@*^%(&*(*)(*@*)&^&^(@%'

Dang it. KT and Nick auditioned for munchkin roles in the Wizard of Oz.

Nick made it. KT did not. She's going to be very sick of her brother snagging all of the roles! Ya know, if my schedule is going to become VERY complicated, it'd be nice if it was for the benefit of BOTH kids.

Well, at least the Buckeyes won. There is some good in KT's life tonight. :)

NOT BAD! Off by 1 year each. Raegan will be 8 on thanksgiving day and Ryleigh turned 2 on Nov 5th! And yes they are sisters.

Ilene - we could exchange at the South Shore Plaza and I'm not sure if anyone else in our area was going to do it too. If there are others close by we could handle ours in this manner. Annmarie

I can't wait to hear how your girls liked Discovery Cove!

Have a great trip!!!!

Congratulations to Mary and Cindy on post and reply 27,000!!!

Steve - The girls look so cute! I love the fall background.

Gail - The castle came out awesome! I've never done a 3-D puzzle before but I'm thinking about it now.

Cindy - I was just going to say the same thing about mailing them out together. I really hope you can do it Ilene but also understand. I'd still be willing to create some pages for your book if you'd like.

Another thought is if everyone is using the same size pages perhaps you could just purchase additional pages and do yours separately to be added to each journal. We could meet at the South Shore Plaza and all you'd have to do is give me your pages. Again, since I've never done this before I don't know if this is do-able or not.

Tina - I'm jealous! Wish we were going back to WDW soon! Actually, let me know what you think of Discovery Cove. Tom and I were thinking of surprising Shawn with a day there when we go in May but weren't sure about it. Have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving.

Good am!

Those of you with kids...Cindy in particular because you've mentioned Chucky Cheese..there is a coupon for 10 free tokens online.

http://chuckecheese.com/html/cal_patient.html

Diana, how'd you do?

We have an exciting day of food shopping today!

Thanks, Ilene! That's 40 or 50 or 60 tokens when you copy one for each of the kids. :cool1:

Walker & I are off to Brookfield Zoo this morning. Walker's Cub Scout Pack purchases one of the Christmas trees there and then the pack makes ornaments to decorate them with. Today's our big day to go and do that.

Gary & Cameron were off camping last night with Boy Scouts. I woke up this morning to the ground being wet and it looks like either a light dusting of snow or ice. For a fleeing thought yesterday I thought maybe I'd join Cameron on the campout instead of Gary. But, they were fishing and that is definately more Gary's cup of tea than mine. It looks like I made the right decision --- I was cold enough last month but with wetness, I'm sure I'd be even colder.

I am going next month, though, when they camp in a cave. Bats and all. I'm hoping the other Mom who went last month goes as well. The Scoutmaster was saying that the worse part is the noise as it echos in the cave. But, then he talked about the cafeteria and game room and sitting up above looking down out of the windows. It sounds like it will be one of the better campouts -- provided I survive the bats.

I think I have Walker convinced to go out on Thanksgiving instead of cooking at home. :cheer2: Our little Emeril enjoys cooking --- some times we wonder if we brought the right child home from the hospital -- he likes to clean too? :confused3

Who all is cooking for Thanksgiving? We don't see family so it's just the 4 of us on Thanksgiving. In the past, we've headed to the Zoo before going out wherever we end up going. I'm hoping to do the same this year.

We booked another cruise while on board SSMC06 with the intention of changing the date. Do you have to pay a fee for changing the date? How does it work to switch to another travel agent/date? I believe someone said if we change to another agent we would keep the $200 onboard ship credit and 10% discount we received as part of the onboard special. Annmarie

There is no charge to change dates or to switch to a travel agent. For almost all of our non DVC cruises we've booked with DCL and then switched over to Dreams Unlimited to take advantage of whatever offer they had at the time. Our pricing remained the same, we got their rebates, and we still got out onboard credit!

No cooking for me this year. We are headed over to family in Woodridge today for an early Thanksgiving gathering and then on Thanksgiving we'll be at my in-laws.
