Just tell them that you have friends to meet that weekend. I'm sure they'll change the date. ;)
Well, I guess if all my DIS friends aren't in Chicago that weekend, then I'll be forced to spend more time with my family. Oh please, please save me from my family. Pick a different weekend!!! :rotfl2:

Amy - we'll be happy to get together for that weekend (or any weekend you are in Chicago). I highly doubt we'll be going to Cedar Point.

You're not coming? I know you guys aren't into roller coasters, but how can you guys pass up a fun filled weekend with friends?

That's the part I'm sad about - that we'll be missing all of you guys. However as you said we aren't into roller coasters and spending a summer weekend in an amusement park full of them is not really our idea of a good time. I'm sure you guys will have a blast.

:)

How did I miss this? Must be someone that just plain loves Illuminations as much as I do :)

As far as how they did it.... Light-o-Rama, I looked them up after the one that made the rounds last year.

And to catch up.. Congrats Robin & David! Sorry to hear about your surprise on returning home Erin, and hearing Mary's now under the weather.

Now, if you're up here and have never been to one, you just have to go to Archivers. It's top of the line for scrapbooking.

And what's this we're not going mind already made up thing? I need to look the place up. I'm not a fan of the more aggressive coasters, and honestly if that's all the place has it'd be half a waste to go for us. I'll try to find some time to look it up.

:confused3 I thought that is what we decided, but maybe I'm wrong. CRS is catching up with me.

Well, now....what about this?
Every year Mike and the kid go to Cedar Point. I have nothing to do with it. I stay home. Although every year they beg me to go....just to be with them and wait in lines. It'd still be "family" time, just every hour or so they'd leave me for 5 minutes (I'd take the chicken exit)

If you guys go....I'd go.....and we'd wait in lines with ppl and take the chicken exit and hang out together while we're waiting for them to ride the ride.

Mike keeps telling me I should go b/c I haven't been there in YEARS and I should actually SEE the huge new coasters. Not ride them....but at least SEE them!

So don't discount it totally. :)

If we're going to make a weekend of it, we'd probably have to know by about March or April in order to get Mike's work requests on the schedule.

Oh my gosh. I have CRS SOOOOO badly. We had "Thanksgiving" in Cleveland this weekend and I had written a LIST of things that I had to take.....

but in order to get everything, I had to check the LIST, right?

No. I get 9/10 of the way to my parents and all of a sudden it dawns on me that I forgot something. Then I'm nearly to their driveway and remember something ELSE I forgot!!! And then I'm there for awhile and my dad says "did you bring the.....?" NO!!!

So what's the point in making a LIST if you aren't going to check it???
(I forgot I had made a list!) (sigh)

Ok, we got our new TV today and I'm SO excited. We ended up getting a GREAT deal on a 42" plasma Hitachi and it was delivered today. WOW!!! It's pretty awesome. Now, our old TV was on it's last leg where it would take 20 minutes for the TV to warm up and show the picture, so anything would be great. But, I really do like this TV!!! I'm gonna have fun watching it tonight!!!

Remember the days of tube TVs, where as a matter of course they would take that long to warm up and then when yo uturned them off, the picture would blink down to this tiny white spot in the middle of the screen? THose were the days when you though 19" was huge :rotfl:

Hey, stop stealing away my last DIS friend that's going to be in Chicago that weekend!!! :rotfl2:

In all seriousness, I will miss you guys, if you're all at Cedar Point, and I'm in Chicago that weekend. But, it is what it is!!! :sad2: Why does it always happen that 2 things that you would love to do are happening at the same time??? It was like that on the cruise a few times too.

One more Circle Journal thing - if any of you live close together, please let me know. I'm going to be trying to start to create the order in which the CJs will travel the U.S. and I want to try to keep those that live near each other in order. That way, some of you can save on shipping and have some mini-DIS meets.

I know that Stacy & Diana are close, because we did that last year for the CJ. Also, I know that Cindy & Mary are close too, and I think that Tina and Steve are also in the Chicago area. Anyone else??? I know that there are some MI people that are pretty close too, along with a few of us Floridians. Let me know, so I can start to make the list.

We're up to 22 participants. Welcome to the group, Chris (sanddune)!!!

Back from Detroit! I walked into our house and my back door was broken. Now we are having the police "dust" the home. They did not take any electronics except our video camera. They took Nicks money box and my jewelry box. and they ransacked our bedroom. -- There was another home kind of behind us that was broken into last night as well and they have a 100+ pound dog. UGGH. Luckily I do not have much REAL jewelry - as I am not a girly girl. Mostly it was jewelry from growing up that my parents and grand parents gave me and a few items that were from our grandparents.

Just last week I put on my mental to do list to go through the house and write everything down. GUess I am too late. They did not take any computer stuff and we have a lot. My laptop was on the sofa.

On a happier note, WE really enjoyed our evening with everyone. I will try and post later and maybe catch everyone in chat.
Erin, sorry to hear about the break in! I'm glad all of you were out of the house at the time of the break in! Hugs to you and your family!:grouphug:

Glad to see that alot of us are going to the Chicago DIS Meet!

PS. Breaking News!
Ryan says he already has a girlfriend. Deanna was a sweet girl in all but he likes Emily!;) He's been going with Emily since July. Ok now he's mad that I spilled the beans!:guilty: I'm not to talk about his love life.;) That's the news for now.
This is sanddune signing off for now!:lmao:

OK I was joking about the soap opera schtick - now I'm confused. Cameron likes Mary and Ryan likes Emily... WhoTH are MARY and EMILY?!?!?!? [mumbling to myself as I eat my favorite red jello]

Silly boy I'm Mary :)

Honestly Mary is one of the tweens that was hanging with Cameron and Deanna on the cruise. Ryan is Chris' son and Emily is his girlfriend from school. Got that!

Btw - Annmarie is married to Tom and Ann Marie is married to Tom. OK? :lmao:
