WOW. THat was a hectic evening. Bad storms came through here. They passed through (or so I thought) and about 30 minutes later we headed to rehearsal.

Here was the plan. Drop Nick at rehearsal, drive to church. Drop KT off at youth group, drive back to rehearsal. Hope that rehearsal either gets out early enough so I can pick up KT on time or late enough so I can pick up KT and have time to get back to Nick (without someone having to wait special with him)

Well, I'm 1/2 way there and the sky starts looking NASTY. Then it starts POURING. I'm talking windshield wipers on full blast and you can still barely see. Then I'm 3/4 of the way there and it starts HAILING. That's LOUD on a car roof. I pulled over under a bridge and turned up the radio. TORNADO WARNING. TORNADO SPOTTED IN FRANKLIN COUNTY (where I was at the time!) :earseek: :earseek: :earseek:

Luckily 10 minutes later it let up but I did hear the tornado was just north of where I was (about 10 miles) :earseek:

Needless to say, I wasn't taking chances. KT didn't go to youth group. We just stayed put at the theater. I wasn't going out again. Amazingly, she didn't pitch a fit about it. :)
Wow! I'm glad you are ok!

Karen, glad you are safe. Scary being so close to that.

Well, we still don't have our docs. We're practicing on the docs from the week before.
:sunny:

Ok you people are to chatty!!! :hyper2: :rotfl:

I fianlly got caught up just in time to go to bed! :lmao:

Well no docs here today...........BUT.......I did get my giclee today!!!! :dancer: (sorry Diana)

Thanks for asking Amy - we have no resolution at this time. They made us send all the bags back to PROVE that they were wrong and have supposedly guaranteed bags by the 13th. I'm not confident but will be checking the tracking tonight when I get home.
Exasperating! I think you better be ready to get those lovely brown lunch bags as backup!

i have the same question. for this DVC cruise, isn't tips already included in our package? i know that we always have the choice to tip more during the cruise if we opt to do so. but if we don't tip (i'm so low on cash these days with the trip!!! ), then it's ok because it's included in the price of the cruise.

True? False? :confused3

True!!

Me, the doubting Thomas, confirmed this with the DCL reps at Member Services on Tuesday. :thumbsup2

It sounds like you got what we had a couple of days ago. Nasty stuff for October -- it's more like spring weather in these parts. Glad everyone is safe and hopefully it's out of the area now.

I'm done for the night. Two nights of meetings in a row --- and tomorrow night is conferences at school for/with the boys. Don't these people know that we need to get ready for vacation? :faint:

Walker's conference is just parent/teacher but Cameron's is student lead, which means it's me, Cameron & the teacher and Cameron is in charge of the conference. So, that takes up tomorrow night.

Last night, I had a daycare association meeting. Fun stuff. Being it's held in the basement of a church, it's just a bunch of daycare stuff. Maybe we should do one in a local bar one of these months. :)

Tonight I was off to a grant writing meeting. The State of IL is offering yet another $1500 for family daycare providers. I didn't apply last year, which turns out to be to my benefit in the scoring process. Not that I really need anything more, but when someone is offering to hand me $1500 worth of daycare items that I get to pick out, it's really hard to turn it down. Now I just have to figure out how to find time to write the grant between now and mid-November. Good thing it's not an end of October deadline, or I know I wouldn't be applying.

My kids have Friday & Monday off -- a long weekend to celebrate Cameron's birthday. Walker & Gary are off camping on Friday, Cameron's party is Saturday (don't tell Walker ;) ) and then Sunday, Cameron wants to head out to Gary's sisters house south closer to where Steve & Coleen live. So, it's already packed with stuff to do.

And now it looks like the weekend after that is starting to fill up with activities. I need to schedule some time our on own calendar or we are going to be in trouble.

I did decide to take the Friday off that we are leaving so that will give us a little bit of breathing room, as the kids & Gary will be in school/work until about noon time.

:faint: :faint: :scared: :crazy2:

We had heavy rains, but thankfully not the high winds. After tonight I don't think it's going to feel like spring around here anymore. Weather man says it's suppose to drop into the 40's tonight.

Last Thursday when we docked at Port Canaveral the guy driving the shuttle for Budget said they hit an all time low for that morning - something like 63 or 64. It didn't take much time for it to head back into the 80's for the day.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we have as nice as weather as we had on the 11 night cruise.

Good Morning everyone....Wow 27 pages to catch up on...Its the first time I'm able to log on since Monday night and the storms that rolled through the Chicago area...My house faired fine, we had a little bit of water come up over the foundation, and the basement floor was wet...but otherwise everything was ok...But Tims house was not so lucky...Hes in one of the areas that had a micro burst, and a reported touchdown of a tornado not too far away...his garage is at street level and took on at least 3" of water...the basement took on water over the foundation...Power lines were down on both ends of his street which made it impassable...Trees were down everywhere...one of his trees split and is hanging over the neighbors house...Lots of clean up...power and cable were out until early this mnorning...cable is still out, but atleast there is power...We carried out so many garbage cans full of wet things, but now the basement is emptied, and all we have left is the garage...So I'm off back to his house till work at 11am...I will try to catch up a little there. Hope everyone else is ok with the storms...
OMG, I'm glad everyone is okay. Good luck with the rest of the clean up.
