Did anyone else receive a survey from Jim Lewis? It's to participate in the 2006 Annual Condo Association survey. Asks for our opinion on topics such as member satisfaction, exchange options and member benefits. I think I'll respond to it tomorrow.

So for those of you following my Wendy's saga....I just received a telephone call from the lady at the Albany County Health Dept. :thumbsup2 First I'm going to say I'm super impressed that first of all she took the time out to call me, but she also went to the raw chicken Wendys and did a full inspection today and called me with the findings. :scared: First off she starts out by saying the manager is very young and is on the job not even 1 month. She commented that she was going to contact the owner because that's not an acceptable timeframe for someone to be left alone and be responsible and not checked up on. He was completely clueless about fryer temps and monitoring them and logging them. He was also completely clueless about the fact that b/c Wendy's offers 2 chicken sandwiches, they are different chickens pucks and take different times to cook, the Spicy Chicken being thicker and requiring more fry time. :teacher: She went on to tell me a bunch of different things about staff knowledge (the fact they didn't know much of anything) and more food prep concerns. She said she left a huge list of things they need to change in order to meet the required health department rules and will be doing weekly follow up visits to make sure the changes are being made.

I'm really impressed with the Health Dept. I'm still never eating at Wendy's again, but I'm impressed that they took my complaint as seriously as they did, sent someone out exactly a week from my incident and is making them change the way they operate. She explained to me that she relies on people reporting things like this because then she can go into the places she knows are problems and bust them. :rotfl2:

I'm still completely UNimpressed with Wendy's because they have not contacted me about my letter at all. I did not include my telephone number in the letter, just my address and email address yet the Health Dept person got my number and called me when her investigation was complete.

Kudos to you for getting the health department involved. And hurray for them actually doing something about it. I guess tax $ do work for us sometimes. Still, it's unfortunate that you had to experience that to begin with. Spicy Chicken sandwich is my favorite at Wendy's but I've kind of lost a taste for it since your trauma.

My vote is the pool. We can be loud and rowdy if we want....and then we can meet our significant others (or not) and head to the clubs from there?
::yes:: Poolside sounds like a good idea to me.

Count me in!! :wave2:

Ilene - What cute puppies!! That is a great picture, too. I could never get my two goofy pups to take such a nice picture!:dog: :dog:

Still catching up...

Thank you all for the kind words about my pups. We do love them dearly and even though they are cute in the picture they are just unbelieveably cute in person. Did you ever think something was so cute you just wanted to squeeze it really hard
::yes:: Yup, Ian! I just love that little boy so much. He's so fun & funny these days.

So, I called about my Disney Dining Experience card and the fact that I can't find the permanent card they sent me last November. It would cost $25.00 to get a new one OR I can call the beginning of the week before my trip and can pick up another temporary card at EPCOT guest services at no charge. HMMMM let me think - I'll take the free one. :Pinkbounc
Thanks for the info. My temp card from last year just "showed up" on my desk this morning. (David must have found it/put it there or something. ;)) But I see it has an expiration date of 11/25/05 on it, guess that won't work this year so we'll be calling for a new temp in about a week or so.

Ok and welcome bag update - second shipment of 50 bags.... and they don't have zippers either - DOH! We've called the company and they are on the phone with the warehouse trying to figure out what the problem is.
Oy, that really sucks. Maybe you should put Diana on the case. She seems to get quick results. (Probably her threats to kick-box 'em into submission.

:welcome: neighbor!

We live in the Bethany/Tanasborne area. Where abouts are you?

Finally another Oregonian!!! Glad to have you onboard!

We live in the Reedville neighborhood. Do you know where Indian Hills Elementary school is? We live very near it.

We're leaving the 19th.
We'll be staying at SSR for 3 nights with tix for MNSSHP for 19th and 20th. Then in stateroom 2068. Stop on by and say HI!
Then we are staying onboard for another 3 nights then one night at ASM before going home.

What are your travel plans? I'm wondering if we may end up on the same flight.

I never liked Wendy's. This just gives me another reason to stay away. :crazy2:

What if you only had one hour in any Disney park. What hour would you spend and what would you do?
MK - watching Wishes and eating Dole Whip!
lick.gif

What if you only had one hour on Castaway Cay. How would you spend it?
Probably hanging out on the beach making sandcastles with Ian. I can't wait to see his expression the first time he sets foot in the sand/ocean!

What if you had the opportunity to go to a Disney park you've never been to before. Which one would you choose?
DisneySea! I really want to make a world tour sometime, but this would be a start.

What if you were given an unlimited fast pass but you could only use it in one park. Which park would you choose?
I'd have to say MK. There are just so many rides to choose from there that I love to go on, whereas each of the other parks only have a few that are must "do's" for me.

What if you were given 100 DVC points to any DVC property free of charge (you would have to pay dues). Which property would you pick and why?
The new one at Disneyland because it would give us reason to head out west more often. Now that my sister is down south rather than out west we just don't seem to go to CA anymore.

We'll probably just miss each other. We head out on the 20th. Staying @ BCV before and after the cruise. We are doing MNSSHP on the 26th. Room
#6085 on the cruise with early dining. We'll have to chat on the cruise at some point. Looks like you are new SSR owners. We have been DVC owners since 2002.

Isn't Indian Hills over near Scholls and Hart? DH works for Intel. I noticed in your information you worked for something with computers. You wouldn't happen to be Intel too?

Nice to have another local onboard!

LOL, it was done at one of those Petsmart photo sessions. Photographer was pretty good. I had the image put on a pocketbook as well one for me and one for DD. From Walmart, came out great in case anyone wants to do it with one of their pictures for a holiday gift. I'll try to find a picture.

Good morning Member Cruisers
- we sail in 22 days!

21 days until the pre-cruise DIS meet in the Solarium at Beach Club!

party:

Last call for button and navigator information - the cut-off is tomorrow!

Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah Tip Of The Day

Lunch on boarding day is held in two places. Parrot Cay on deck 3 or Beach Blanket Bufft on deck 9. They serve exactly the same thing so the choice is yours if you want to eat outside or inside.

Usually they will try to direct you to one (Parrot Cay) first and then when they are filled direct you up to Beach Blanket. We like to eat outside so we'll head up to Beach Blanket using the mid-ship stairs/elevator instead. Remember that you'll still have your carry-on luggage with you.

So if you want to eat outside head up to Beach Blanket. If you prefer to start in a fun festive air conditioned room then head on over to Parrot Cay. You can't go wrong with either.

Not real hungry or have kids that want to head right to the pools - then head up to deck 9. Grab a table and chairs by the pool. You can grab burgers, hot dogs and chicken fingers at Plutos. Also one person in your party can go through the buffet at Beach Blanket and bring back food to the table.

Had a great time in chat last night. Sorry I couldn't last past 9 pm my time. I was beat!

I missed chat. Not feeling all the well yesterday and when the kids went home, I laid down for a while. Never got back up.

We're off and running today. If the weather holds out, Cameron has been invited to a sportsclub way out south of us. This is by the instructor that he met in Michigan who Cameron is very anxious for Mom to meet. This is the man who told us, second hand, that Cameron has a lot of natural talent when it comes to target/clay pigeon shooting. I think Cameron feels as if once Mom sees what Cameron can do, that she might change her position on whether or not Cameron can have a rifle of his own. I'm still not there yet -- they scare the heck out of me, but when I hear works like "scholarship material" it really puts me in between a rock and a hard place. So, we'll see.

Gary's off to take Walker to the ear doctor -- yet again. I'm thinking it's time we really bite the bullet and have the adnoids taken out. In hindsight, we should have done it back in the spring, but Walker wasn't having any problems then.

Walker also has a Cub Scout hayride later this afternoon.

Busy, busy!! I'd really like to get some things packed this weekend as well. After all, we have less than 3 weeks. :Pinkbounc

Some items for the Navigator. A couple people expressed an interest to have all the things we've talked about on the thread in the navigator so they don't forget and I agree. However that means we have to agree on a few things so I can get them in place this weekend.

MNSSHP - I think the general opinion is to meet at 5:30 at the Liberty Bell. Someone speak up if this is wrong as this is what is going in the navigator.

Julie's bachlorette get-together. Meeting Tuesday night at 9:30 pm at the tables by the adult pool. Again someone correct me if I'm wrong or this is how it is going in.

Morning walks. A number of us have talked about getting together for a morning walk down on deck 4. What time does everyone want to meet? Roxann and I were talking about this in chat early last night. I suggested 6:30 which is before breakfast, she suggested after breakfast. What does everyone want to do? We could always set up two times (we did that on the 10 day cruise). Not that I made it any of the 10 days :guilty: Also do we want to set up a meet spot? On the 10 day they used the Walt Mural outside the Walt Disney theatre as the meeting spot. Come on walkers let's hear from you!

All the other meets are pretty well set and on the front page of the navigator. These will most likely be on one of the inside pages. I'm going to configure things a little different than I did in May to make this work.

Guys - have you set up a time and place to get together with Matt? I think I heard Diversons. Yes???? Also at 9:30 on Tuesday? Let me know.

Anyone have anything else they want to add in?
