Just want everyone to know that I am so not technically inclined and finally have just taken the plunge, all the stars have lined up, remembered our password and yes it looks like i have learned how to post something. Reading through all the postings has been great. I can't wait to meet you all on board. I do have a lot of questions that i hope to be fielding on this sight. One question i'd like help with is that we are looking at float, snorkel and bike rental for the island and i'm just wondering if you all think that's a good idea to sign up for? I mean yes it looks like the kids have their own activities but I would hope My husband and I can tear them away for some family time. OK here goes ...I'm submitting my first post. Hope it gets there!

Niagara2 said:Hi everyone!!! Well - better late than never they say. My family consists of myself - Niagara2 - Doreen and my DH Sean. We have 2 sons, Brandon and Justin.
We signed up for this cruise like most of the rest of you....on hold that Saturday morning so long ago. I cannot believe it is already October and time for the member cruise. This is our first member cruise but we are DCL veteran's. We did the repo and brought the Magic home. We have also done 4 other DCL cruises on both the Wonder and Magic.
I am a late planner. We own our own business and are very busy in the summer. It is just slowing down and now we can plan our great trip. I actually have a business trip to FL next week and will make time for a day at the Magic Kingdom. We still are on a wait list for a room at BCV for the day the cruise ends. Not good this late in the game. I also have not planned the night before room. Any ideas? Told you I am starting really late.
I have attended Dis meets on board during prior cruises and loved getting to know my fellow Disers. I have even been to Dis meets here locally.
I am hoping to readthis entire thread before I go so that I know more about you all. Can't promise - because do you guys realize there are over a 19000 posts! Wow. I have a lot of catching up to do. I will continue to check in until we go and look forward to our time together.
Thank you for letting me in at this late date. Mary and Amy even put me on the lists. Thank you! Doreen![]()
alikat99 said:Well, Madison and I are going to be doing a lot of running around for Emily's party this morning. I need to finish finding all the stuff for the goodie bags and decorations. I think that I finally have all the food figured out (mini cheesecakes, mini muffins, fresh fruit, tea cookies and "star" cheese (Sargento makes Sunburst shaped cheese that my girls call star cheese). I'm also planning on taking pretzel rods and coating them with pink "chocolate" and sprinkles.
I'm going to JoAnn's and pick up a bunch of pink tulle to drape around the living room too, since it's pretty cheap.
Happy belated birthday!Stitch#1 said:Happy Birthday Bruce!!
cgcw said:Doreen, do you have Cub Scouts and/or Boy Scouts??
Stacy's son, Nick, is a Boy Scout.
My son, Cameron, is a Boy Scout and my other son, Walker, is a Cub Scout.
They love their camping.
We get home from this cruise Friday, 10/27 with our plane arriving at midnight. We leave for a campout at 7 a.m. Saturday morning.![]()
Niagara2 said:Both the boys are Boy Scouts. One is 11 and one is 12 years old. Glad they will have much in common with the kids that will be on board. I will tell then tonight!

Congrats on 100 posts!tigger795 said:I don't know about anybody else but I feel like I need a quick summary of all the DIS'er events taking place before/during/after the cruise.
Can anyone put one together and post it? Maybe put it up on the monorailgreen.info page too? It would be nice to have a one-stop place to go to see what will be going on!
So far I think I saw a pre-cruise DIS meet @ the Solarium @ BCV and some sort of bacherlorette get together on the ship but that is all and it is rather difficult trying to sift thru 19K+ posts to sort it all out from scratch.
TIA to whomever

They sent 2 luggage tags-do you tag your "carry-on"?
MarkRG said:But it sounds like this year they're telling everyone byob(bag, beer, whatever...).
Seriously, we always pack a easily packable nylon duffel and pack out dirty clothes into it if we need to make room in our good suitcase for souvenirs. what we'll do this time too![]()
