We're leaving in 13 days.

Wanna talk about panic? I was hyperventilating last night thinking about EVERYTHING that must be done before we catch the plane. I think I freaked Ian a bit at first, but then he came over and gave me some great hugs.

We've already been laying stuff out on my daughter's bed. Stuff that we won't need between now and the time we leave. It was easy just coming off a cruise, we just unpacked and put aside the stuff from one trip for the other trip.

I say give the girls cake for breakfast. Can it really hurt? Is it THAT much different than a bowl of Trix or a poptart?

I find that if I do "crazy" stuff like that once in awhile, THAT is what the kids remember. "Remember the time Mom let us have cake for breakfast?" They are NOT going to grow up and say "Remember that mom always fed us a really nutritious, stick to our ribs breakfast?"

I have to say, my girls are wonderful eaters, especially when it comes to fruits and vegetables, I don't even have to disguise with cheese and sauces. I walked past bananas in the grocery store and Julia threw a full fleged kicking and scream temper tantrum because I didn't buy them. Emma can sit down with a bowl of lima beans and eat them all. :scared: She calls them jelly beans, but far be it for me to correct her. We noticed her love for them when she started picking them out of the mixed veggies first at about 18 months. I don't eat veggies at all so it amazes me what they'll eat!
You are SO lucky because the only veggie that Emily will eat is canned green beans and Madison will only eat corn. Emily is starting to eat broccoli, but only the very top. Now, with fruit, they like most of them, but neither of them will eat apples or applesauce. Don't know why, they just don't like them, but bananas, kiwi, peaches, pineapple, mandarin oranges are all good.

Hey everyone, I'm Stitch's friend who's going on this our first member cruise. Just want everyone to know that I am so not technically inclined and finally have just taken the plunge, all the stars have lined up, remembered our password and yes it looks like i have learned how to post something. Reading through all the postings has been great. I can't wait to meet you all on board. I do have a lot of questions that i hope to be fielding on this sight. One question i'd like help with is that we are looking at float, snorkel and bike rental for the island and i'm just wondering if you all think that's a good idea to sign up for? I mean yes it looks like the kids have their own activities but I would hope My husband and I can tear them away for some family time. OK here goes ...I'm submitting my first post. Hope it gets there!

Welcome aboard!

Boy, it's been years since I've posted on DIS (Feb 2004 to be exact)! So I'm starting back at square one!

Anyhoo...a suggestion. Would anyone like to start contributing DVC trivia, sorta like a study group? Over the next couple weeks, everyone could submit any DVC trivia they know. I would then compile all the info into a "cheat sheet". Then, around Oct 14-15th, everyone could print it out and be ready to sweep all the prizes at the DVC trivia contest!

I'll volunteer to keep a running document of any DVC trivia info that anyone wants to send me. Anything you can think of, such as DVC resort opening dates, number of rooms per resort, resort name changes, themes, etc.
You can PM your info to me, or post it here on the thread (a good way to clock up more messages in search of the elusive 20,000 message goal).

Have a great weekend. I'll try to join the Sunday chat -- so if you have suggestions for the DVC trivia game, just let me know!
Hmmmm, cool idea!!!

Disney trivia: The best way to get this is buy Lou M's books or go to his website. The boat drivers between epcot and mgm also give lots of trivia.

Who are Daisy Duck's Neices: April, May and June
I learned that little bit of trivia while at WDW. One of the CMs asked and I didn't know the answer.

Many thanks to the obviously "in-the-know" Tag Fairy! ::yes:: The words are mine, but the color-job is courtesy of The TF! I feel so special now! And loved!

From my very own fingers: Count me in on Julie's party! :woohoo: (Ummmm, unless, of course, my Tigers manage to make it into the Fall Classic, and there's a game that night - then I'll be "where the boys are"... Sorry!, and no offense!!!)
Yippee!!! I finally got to see Karen's tag. Love it Karen!!!

This happened one time....it was a planned outage. I set up a yahoo group called "DISBoardWithdrawl" for just this situation.

Should we ever need it, it can be found here:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DISBoardWithdrawl/

I may not know what to do in case of a terrorist attack on my city, but I know what to do should the DIS go down!!! HA HA HA
:rotfl: Thanks for this information. I have saved it in my favorites just in case the site goes down again!

We bank. Too much. So much I keep trying to convince Mike to rent some out. But it's just too much hassle. :(
You can just give some to your favorite DIS friends!!!

OK so what are the chances---we have exactly 0 points left for 2006 and 6 whole points for 2007! :lmao:
Ok, that's definitely a TZ moment!!!!

We have 23 left for 2006. My guess is that I'll find a use for them between now and June 1st (along with borrowing from 2007 in order to use the others).

This is probably 50-100% rumor, but a thread on the other DCL forum suggested an October 1st announcement about the next DVC resort to open. Along with the date, someone "in the know" paraphrased a member of the construction team who said this new DVC resort is a pirate-themed resort to be built on the former Discovery Island (the island in the middle of the lake behind the Contemporary). Lastly, the resort is supposed to be a luxury resort, with a very small number of rooms.
(Please don't quote me...I had just finished reading 60+ other posts, so I may have reached "brain freeze" stage by the time I saw the above post.)
If the announcement is made, we'll certainly have something to talk about during Sunday night's chat!
pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate:
I haven't heard of any announcements, but I can tell you that they decorated the lighthouse/watertower looking thing on the corner by Old Key West. It had banners and 15th anniversary signs. We got a picture of it that I'll try to post later today.
