[Stitch#1]

Hi all. Just back from the 11 night on the Wonder and it was awesome. Now at WDW till Sunday.

The changes in dry dock are going to be awesome. Can't wait to get back on in 3 weeks!

Talked to Ducky the last night of the cruise. He said we are NOT getting a litho on the member cruise. He does have something special that DVC had him too, and he said this is not something for our "wall" to hang. Wouldn't tell me anything else except that he was thrilled with the outcome and loved creating this new "gift" for us!

See everyone soon. Once I get back to work next week, I'll start checking the member thread.

Ok now I can't wait for this cruise. Anything from Ducky is a treasured piece!

That's too cute! My girls are never dating so they won't have the opportunity to be nervous!

So for those of you following my Wendy's saga....I just received a telephone call from the lady at the Albany County Health Dept. First I'm going to say I'm super impressed that first of all she took the time out to call me, but she also went to the raw chicken Wendys and did a full inspection today and called me with the findings. First off she starts out by saying the manager is very young and is on the job not even 1 month. She commented that she was going to contact the owner because that's not an acceptable timeframe for someone to be left alone and be responsible and not checked up on. He was completely clueless about fryer temps and monitoring them and logging them. He was also completely clueless about the fact that b/c Wendy's offers 2 chicken sandwiches, they are different chickens pucks and take different times to cook, the Spicy Chicken being thicker and requiring more fry time. She went on to tell me a bunch of different things about staff knowledge (the fact they didn't know much of anything) and more food prep concerns. She said she left a huge list of things they need to change in order to meet the required health department rules and will be doing weekly follow up visits to make sure the changes are being made.

I'm really impressed with the Health Dept. I'm still never eating at Wendy's again, but I'm impressed that they took my complaint as seriously as they did, sent someone out exactly a week from my incident and is making them change the way they operate. She explained to me that she relies on people reporting things like this because then she can go into the places she knows are problems and bust them.

I'm still completely UNimpressed with Wendy's because they have not contacted me about my letter at all. I did not include my telephone number in the letter, just my address and email address yet the Health Dept person got my number and called me when her investigation was complete.

And people always joke about State Workers. I think it's awesome that she called you and is going to do so much follow-up

Chris - the flowers sound beautiful!

Bachlorette party - how many people are we up to? What are we looking to do?

If you want to dance, listen to the band etc. I suggest Wavebands. Downside is that it can get loud. So great for dancing, not so great for talking.

If you want something a little quieter, and a little more classic then I suggest the Cadillac lounge. It is the piano bar. Much more intimate. It would be easier to talk but other patrons might be a little upset if we get too loud.

If you want something a little decadant and everyone is up for a small charge what about the Rainforest room in the vista spa from 9-10 (when it closes). I've known someone who has brought his own mammosa's in there.

If you want something more casual where we can all laugh and have a good time what about meeting up by the adult pool on deck 9. There are tables we can put together. I think the bar stays open pretty late there or someone could bring a bottle of champagne and some glasses.

I'm up for whatever. Maybe we should ask the blushing bride which she prefers.

Interesting looking resort. Will prob stay there but not interested in buying there. We want our 80 points from BCV. Might be talked out of our 150 at HH (never stayed there - prob don't know what we are missing) but DEFFINATELY want more at BCV.

Ummmmm - We're not selling our HHI points, dear. I can't wait to go there, and I have a very strong feeling that I'll fall in love with the place...

Curt and Karen - I thought about you two last night - my kids went to that game to hopefully help bring home that one elusive win that the Tigers need - they had hoped it would happen but I thought anyone going to that game last night was or a die-hard fan! Don't know how you withstood the weather element.
Maybe if the Tigers don't get that first time, they'll go on to do what the other Detroit sports teams didn't do in the past year - seems that first place has become somewhat of a jinx for the teams lately. Think about it - it makes sense.

With a win today, we would have taken the Division title. Notice that I said WOULD have taken the title...

Ok and welcome bag update - second shipment of 50 bags.... and they don't have zippers either - DOH! We've called the company and they are on the phone with the warehouse trying to figure out what the problem is.

What the heck? I hope it all gets fixed!

Walking--I'd be in for 6:30, but I'm sure most people won't be! I usually walk Deck 10 because I like the view and lack of crowds that early but I'd be open to anything.

I think I would like the early walk too on deck 10

So would I get mother of the year if I give my family Julia's birthday cake for breakfast? Emma suggested it and Bruce was all to happy to chime in. Now they are all saying Cake Cake Cake. I don't think I'll win this battle, and it is a special day, plus cake has some nutritional value.

Anyone ever see that Bill Cosby routine--Dad is great, he gives us chocolate cake. That's my DH.

When we paid off our first set of point, Kelly Jo - our DVC person, suggested we put the balance on the Disney Visa first, then pay it off. That way, we would earn our reward dollars for the pay off! HMMMM how to use the $$$.
I've never had a Konk Kooler but if Cindy's mentioning says anything, they ought to be yummy!

When we did an add on we had the cash but we put it on our Disney card (for the points) Then just paid the bill in full.

gosh, Erin, I really don't remember.

I do know there were 2 CM's in the kids club that Walker chose to give a card to each.

There wasn't anyone in the lab that Cameron selected but we did send down a bunch of candy that I brought thinking we might go to a show and use it there.

We also gave a couple to our room steward, server and assistant server as well as the head server. I know that our room steward and serving team got at least 2 each --- so that was 6 there, 1 for the head server and the 2 that we gave to the club CM's.

I'm going to venture to guess that I brought $100 and I know that I didn't bring any home.

We got $100 in Walmart Gift cards last year too and non came home with us either. Ours got distributed in a similar fashion as yours

Hey everyone, I'm Stitch's friend who's going on this our first member cruise. Just want everyone to know that I am so not technically inclined and finally have just taken the plunge, all the stars have lined up, remembered our password and yes it looks like i have learned how to post something. Reading through all the postings has been great. I can't wait to meet you all on board. I do have a lot of questions that i hope to be fielding on this sight. One question i'd like help with is that we are looking at float, snorkel and bike rental for the island and i'm just wondering if you all think that's a good idea to sign up for? I mean yes it looks like the kids have their own activities but I would hope My husband and I can tear them away for some family time. OK here goes ...I'm submitting my first post. Hope it gets there!

It's a nice sunny day here. I've got all clothes washed this weekend, I think--the laundry seems to exponentially increase when I'm not looking. We went to our neighbor's house last night for the annual clambake. Fun was had by all! I'm going to stroll soon (9 miles today). I hesitated to check in on the 6:30 a.m. deck stroll. I'll probably be there for the a.m. deck walk, but if I get a chance to add a few extra Zzzs I'm thinking I will take it.

Ohh. That clambake sounds so good. Sounds like fun!

I believe that it was 10 AM.

I believe we did meet at 10am for the group shot.

I finally caught up. It was only 40 pages!!!!

I'm so happy my friend posted to the thread today...yea!!!!

Now I just need to step away from the computer so my eyes can straighten out and so I can try to make chat tonight!

Karen and Curt - it's been a real roller coaster ride for that team! DD and I were talking today and maybe, just maybe, instead of the first place jinx that seems to happen to the Detroit teams (i.e. - the Red Wings and the Pistons), maybe the Tigers can get their growl back and make it to the big play-off - the World Series. Either way, they have had a heck of a great year and made baseball a fun game to watch again.
