In honor of Monday how about another round of GTKYKFC

1) We sail in 27 days, but when do you actually leave and what else do you have planned? Leaving on Oct 10th - driving to Delaware and then sis and I will go to Atlantic City for a Barry Manilow concert and then visit for a few days before I drive down to VA and pick up my roomie, Karen! :moped: :cheer2:

2) What is the one thing you are looking forward to most about SSMC06? All of the surprises that DVC has in store for us and being with friends - makes me misty!

3) If there was to be a SSMC07 and it was in the same time frame and same type of cruise (4 day) would you book it? Most likely - I find I am enjoying time with friends on a ship!

4) If there was a be a SSMC07 and if you could determine when it would be and what type of cruise what would it be? Hmmm - let me think about this one

5) For 07 instead of a cruise would you rather see some type of land-based event? If so, what? Member Homecoming was fun and just being with fellow DVC/DISers is a blast no matter where we are

1) We sail in 27 days, but when do you actually leave and what else do you have planned? We leave in 24 day. Besides what is planned with this group, Party for the Senseless on the 21st,doing MNSSHP on the 27th with friends from here, meeting with friends who just moved to FLA on the 28th plus F&W Cook, Book & Bottle and another event, and of course shopping!

2) What is the one thing you are looking forward to most about SSMC06? Finally getting to meet everybody and seeing those that I already have met but haven't seen in a long time!

3) If there was to be a SSMC07 and it was in the same time frame and same type of cruise (4 day) would you book it? No Can Do! With DD in High School now, I pushed the limits this year! I did tell the school it was a Business Trip! Monkey Bussiness!LOL

4) If there was a be a SSMC07 and if you could determine when it would be and what type of cruise what would it be? During a School Holiday, even during the summer and definately a minimum of 7 days! Would be nice to have a Special Caribbean Cruise!

5) For 07 instead of a cruise would you rather see some type of land-based event? If so, what?
How about a nice dinner and show just for DVC Members!

So now you know how to read a KTTW card. Have a Disney Day![/size]

That breakdown of the KTTW hit on my one pet peeve with Disney. They can put all that information on a KTTW or room key in WDW, why can't they indicate the number of days of park visits you have if you bought park passes tied in with your reservation.

Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah Tip Of The Day

You don't have to use your KTTW card to lock your safe. The safes in the room lock when your KTTW card is slid through it. Problem is you need the exact same card to open it. If one partner is up at the pool and the other wants to get something out of the safe you are out of luck. Plus if sadly you misplace your KTTW card then you have to call to have someone come and open it up for you.

Here's the tip of the day. You can use any card with a magnetic strip. Like your grocery discount card! Then if you use that you can put it somewhere else in your room where everyone else in your party can get to it if they want to get in the safe. Of course you don't want to just leave it out on top of the safe (since the safe wouldn't be very secure then) but tucked in a drawer out of sight should be fine.

I think this is one of the BEST tips ever! We used this all the time last year and was so easy to do - I'm so glad we knew about it!

Julie, I can hardly tell that's a pink shirt. Must be a light pink.

I love the one that you took or yourself. How many tries did it take before you didn't chop off your head or the side of your face? I try to take pictures of the babies once and a while when they are sitting on my lap, and usually something is missing or they are lop sided or whatnot. :rotfl2:

It is light pink plus we didnt' have the overhead lights on - I should have gone outside!!

LOL um honestly - about 20 before I got one I even remotely would post!

Yeah - I got my DDE card in the mail today. One more thing to check off the list! 4 weeks from today we'll be getting ready for the DIS meet in the Solarium!

Mary - I just called member services today to add DDe to my reservation. They didn't say anything about a card, just that I would get whatever information when I check in. SHould I be expecting a card in the mail?

I was thinking about boxing up things like my pirate costumes, shoes and swim gear and shipping it down in advance (then shipping it home too). Has anyone tried this before? I have no idea how much it would cost, but I'm thinking of saving our backs on travel days. Any thoughts?
Chris

Here is the address. When we did the 14 day Panama Canal Cruise, everyone sent LOTS of stuff down ahead of time. I never heard of any problems. Hope this helps! :wizard:

To ship a package to the port:

Address the package to Disney Cruise Lines
9001 Marlin Street
Cape Canaveral, FL 32920

At the bottom left corner of the package put the following information:
ATTN: HOUSEKEEPING
STATEROOM #(Gty if stateroom # is unknown at time of mailing)
Passenger Name (the name on the reservation)
RESERVATION #
VESSEL: DISNEY MAGIC or DISNEY WONDER
DATE OF SAIL: 10/22/06
NUMBER OF BOXES (1 of 1, 2 of 4, etc)

Sandy - are you adding the Dining Plan? That is different from DDE (Disney Dining Experience). The dining plan is the pre pay plan where you get an alotment of meals vs the DDE where you buy a memebrship and receive 20% off meals and drinks.

1) We sail in 27 days, but when do you actually leave and what else do you have planned? We leave the morning of the 21st. Matt technically has finals the week we are cruising so he's going to finish his classes Friday night while I enjoy the quiet house (dog and cat go to the kennel that am). We plan to arrive at MCO, grab the luggage/car and head to Costco for our welcome bag items, then to DTD to purchase a few final gifts we can only get on property and then to the Beach Club to check in, do the meet, have dinner with friends and zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

2) What is the one thing you are looking forward to most about SSMC06? Seeing old friends again and making new ones - oh and RELAXING and 4 days pre wedding with no phone calls!

3) If there was to be a SSMC07 and it was in the same time frame and same type of cruise (4 day) would you book it? YES

4) If there was a be a SSMC07 and if you could determine when it would be and what type of cruise what would it be? 7 day - not Nov/Dec as those are hard times to get away from work.

5) For 07 instead of a cruise would you rather see some type of land-based event? If so, what? Yes - we love hearing about Member Homecoming and other events so we'd like to participate in any we can.

DIS Navigator

I have a preliminary navigator layout done for the front and back. This is not final as I still have to update some of the deck plans with anyone who sends in info over the next week. Also I can change any info on the front based on feedback. Please if you see I left something out or mis-spelled something let me know. You won't be hurting my feelings. For example I noticed after I saved it that I don't have the date for the Wishes cruise so I'll go back in and add that on the real version.

To see it go to http://monorailgreen.info/member2006/disnav.jpg

Any and all feedback appreciated.

That is absolutely brilliant! It really looks just like the DCL navigator.

1) We sail in 27 days, but when do you actually leave and what else do you have planned? We leave on the 17th, and will arrive in Orlando on the 18th. This is earlier than we originally planned, but wanted to spend some time with our DD who's doing an internship with Disney before the cruise. We'll stay off property near her apartment the first 3 nights, then check in at OKW on the 21st.

2) What is the one thing you are looking forward to most about SSMC06? All the great things that DVC has planned for us (gifts, speakers, entertainment, etc.) and getting to see all my DIS friends and eat with them each night!

3) If there was to be a SSMC07 and it was in the same time frame and same type of cruise (4 day) would you book it?Honestly, it will depend on how much Ken enjoys this cruise. I'm sold, but since this is his first DVC cruise, and first time meeting all of you, he needs to have a REALLY GOOD TIME to convince him to do it again! (I'm counting on all of you to contribute to this!)

4) If there was a be a SSMC07 and if you could determine when it would be and what type of cruise what would it be? Definitely a 7 day cruise. It could go just about anywhere, but the Southern Caribbean would be nice. Summer or the end of May would be nice so DD could go along without missing any college classes.

5) For 07 instead of a cruise would you rather see some type of land-based event? If so, what? The only member event we've done is Member Days at the Boardwalk, and it was pretty low key compared to the cruise, but I like the idea of Member Homecoming. Maybe they could do a Sunrise Safari for DVC members at DAK on the line of the one that is available to concierge guests at AKL.

1) We sail in 27 days, but when do you actually leave and what else do you have planned?

Mike and I will arrive on the 19th.We plan on going to the food and wine festival. DIS meet saturday and just hang out!

2) What is the one thing you are looking forward to most about SSMC06?

Meeting my DIS friends!

3) If there was to be a SSMC07 and it was in the same time frame and same type of cruise (4 day) would you book it?

NO. It's too hard to go with the kids in school now!

4) If there was a be a SSMC07 and if you could determine when it would be and what type of cruise what would it be

I would love the cruise to be in early summer and a 7 day.( easteren or southern)

5) For 07 instead of a cruise would you rather see some type of land-based event? If so, what?
Lets go out to Disneyland to open a DVC resort out there!Maybe even do a cruise addon option.

On SSMC05, I would get up between 5 and 6 most mornings, grab a cup of coffee :coffee: and stroll up to the bow to meditate :worship: and watch the sun :sunny: rise.

Here comes the sun, here comes the sun,
and I say it's all right - Beatles

Crusin :sail: - it does a body good ::yes:: :thumbsup2

Sandy - I'll echo what Julie said. Sounds like you are talking about DDP the Disney Dining Plan which means you get so many meal credits for your stay (I think it is one sit-down, one counter service and one snack per day). Right? If so I don't think you get a card I think it is keyed into your KTTW card.

What I have is the DDE the Disney Dining Experience which is a card you buy that is good for one year and gives you 20% off your bill at X number of locations (almost all sit-down). With this trip and a trip in December I think it will pay for itself and then if we go back before it expires next year (not planned yet) even better.

Hope that clears things up for you.

Umm, that would only be on the mornings that I wasn't up there.

Take turns, man, take turns. Let's be fair about this! ;)
