No more tangles -- I remember that!

I also had a Chrissy doll that I could pull the hair out and make longer. Did anyone else? How did we get all that hair back inside the head of the doll?

I know, I know, I'm showing my age.

I didn't have that doll, but wasn't there a string on her back that you pulled and her hair "sucked back in"....magically. :)

:confused3 :confused3

Ok, that's too funny! Emily is the complete opposite! She has stick straight hair, and she hates for me to do anything to her hair. Every once in a while, she'll let me, but she also won't let me cut it short.

Now that would be Julia. She sees me coming her way with the hairbrush and goes Oww--Oww and runs. I'm lucky because her hair it completely no maintenance!

Our son has an interview with his first Fire Dept. He never seemed to be interested in what I did but apparently it made an impact on him. He took the EMT class last year and has applied at a couple of Fire Depts. He also has a test later this month for another FD.
Coleen is a little nervous as it can be a dangerous job (and I guess so am I) but I am also very proud and honored he wants to follow in my career path.

So it could be a fourth generation of FF in our family tree. My grandfather signed up as a volunteer in 1951, on the department I am a member of. I had an uncle who was a FF in Columbus Ohio and now he is interested. Must be something in the blood I guess.

Squid:firefight

Wish him luck. That is terrific that he wants to follow your career path even if it is dangerous.

I had this doll

The box says "Cut her hair and make it grow long again and again" Problem being that inside the doll was essentially a spool of yarn and once you gave her two or three good haircuts, you had to buy a replacement cartridge or else she was doomed to have that last bad haircut forever. :scared:

As you can tell, I was tramatized by this doll and continue therapy today trying to get over it! :lmao:

AND--I would NEVER EVER EVER give my children a doll with scissors and show them how to cut hair!! Whose crazy idea was that?? Hey, let's encourage little kids to do this to a doll, because then they'd get the great idea to do it to themselves--or worse unsuspecting siblings!!

That is wonderful that he wants to follow in your shoes. Good luck to him. pixiedust: It takes a certain kind of person to do what you do, and I'm glad people like you and your family members do it!

A couple of pics from the weekend. The girls look like they are ready to sign up for the military and take off to fight the bad guys. :scared:

This was so cute--it's just like the C-130s that constantly fly over our house only it's a van. :rotfl2:

This is too cute. Your girls have grown a lot since last year.

Thanks, Diana. I never would have thought to google Chrissy and see what was up with her way back in the dark ages.

Look what I found:

About Crissy Dolls: Crissy was the doll with hair that "grows and grows" from the late baby boomer era. She had a long ponytail of hair which you could pull out of her head by pushing on a button on her tummy. The same hair would retract back into her head by twisting the knob on her back.

Question: Does filling out the forms online determine when you board the ship or is it when you arrive at port?

Sorry Cindy, but Chrissy is one freaky looking doll! :lmao: She looks like a giant! Not that my doll is much better.....

Here's a gross doll story. I always wanted a Baby Alive doll, the one that came with powered stuff you mixed it with water and fed her. Well, I guess I fed her and no one ever cleaned her up because she ended up getting worms!! :lmao: You know, those wormy things you find in sugar and flour after it's been around too long...yup, growing out of her mouth! :crazy2:

OK, since I visited enemy territory I have a few GTKYFKC questions:

What is your favorite Universal attraction and why?

When was the last time you visited Universal, either park?

Has anyone dined at Emeril's and is it really worth waiting 6 months for reservations?

What ride/attraction/technology from Universal would you like to see Disney adopt in the future?

Since DVC began offering a discount on annual passes, do you stay mostly on Disney property? If not, where in Orlando would you go?

That is pretty disgusting. :crazy2: Wow, I never thought I'd use that smiley.

OK, since I visited enemy territory I have a few GTKYFKC questions:

What is your favorite Universal attraction and why? Spider Man--It rocks and there's nothing at Disney to compare it to.

When was the last time you visited Universal, either park? It's really been a while-- it was before we got married....2001 I believe. :confused3 And what' dumb is ever since GE bought out Universal, we get a heck of a deal on park admission.

Has anyone dined at Emeril's and is it really worth waiting 6 months for reservations? Nope. We've eaten at Margaritaville :thumbsup2

What ride/attraction/technology from Universal would you like to see Disney adopt in the future? Spider Man!

Since DVC began offering a discount on annual passes, do you stay mostly on Disney property? If not, where in Orlando would you go? We've only stayed on Disney property. If/when my kids get into Nickelodeon shows, I may consider a night or two at the Holiday Inn Nick Suites, but even then, just 1 or 2 nights. I don't mind visiting Universal or Sea World, but I like my Disney resorts!!

What is your favorite Universal attraction and why?
So far its MIB Alien Attack. I do much better on this than on Buzz Lightyear. I still have not been to IoA so Spiderman may pass this.
When was the last time you visited Universal, either park?
Last Saturday, before that the first week of February 1999. Only Universal Studios, not IoA yet.
Has anyone dined at Emeril's and is it really worth waiting 6 months for reservations?
I haven't and was wondering about it.

What ride/attraction/technology from Universal would you like to see Disney adopt in the future?
From what I have heard Spiderman is incredible but since I have not done that I'd like to see them use the movable individual seats that Shrek 4D has for their 3D movies.

Since DVC began offering a discount on annual passes, do you stay mostly on Disney property? If not, where in Orlando would you go?
We usually didn't have a car for the last few years but now that I live down here I will venture off. If we didn't get the discount when it was implemented I was considering staying at Disney and going to all the other parks (SW, US, IoA) since it seemed like they didn't care whether we stayed in WDW or not. Now, I mostly stay on property. If I did venture, I'd go to Universal and stay there for FOTL access.

Do we get more than one guess and if so, is that one guess per day? My family is getting involved in the fun too!

I remember that doll. I thought she was cool!:cool1:

My favorite doll was Cathy Quick Curl. She had gold wires in her hair and witht the play curling iron you could curl her hair. She was my favorite!

For many years I begged for a Baby Alive doll. My family wasn't well off and that was not a "necessary" toy. It wasn't until my mom realized that little girls in her kdg class had her (the same kids who were on gov't subsidized free lunch programs) that she decided that no matter how poor we were, she could swing a doll for me. She figured if the really poor kids could have it, then I could too!!

So I got her for Christmas.

I had her for quite sometime until one time I didn't quite get her cleaned out well after a feeding and....
well, flies took residence in her GI tract....
and laid eggs....

nothing needs therapy more than watching maggots come out of your Baby Alive's MOUTH!!! NASTY!

It's when you arrive at the port. Cats 1, 2, 3 automatically go in the first group. Then you're grouped according to arrival time.

I didn't think Diana's story could be topped but this one did just that. :crazy2:
