Hey Chicago folks, it looks like we'll definitely be coming next July. I found out that my HS 20th reunion will be the weekend of July 14th. So, it will be at least me, but most likely the whole family, since we still have family and lots of friends there.

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

We're not heading to Hilton Head next July as we're going in March for a change of pace (I hope a good one) so definately, we'll get together.

I wonder if our kids will be confused seeing each other some place other than WDW? :)

We skipped the parks last year after the cruise because of the rain and did a day at DisneyQuest. Nick loves that place. I'm not a huge video game person but there was stuff that I did and enjoyed.

Thanks, all for the info about DQ. It sounds like Cameron would love it since many of the "adult" boys on here do. I brought the idea up to him last night and he said he'd rather do some type of fishing excursion so I'll have to look into that.

Has anyone gone fishing at WDW? :fish:

We saw this huge bass off the pier at VWL our last day there in August. The kids couldn't believe the size of it -- it's mouth was huge. So, I'm sure that's what he's expecting to catch.

I'm still trying to figure out a way to come up the first weekend of December. I'm keeping my eyes out for DING fares, so we'll see.

December is good too.

Definately keep me posted. ::yes::

I have the Athen's too!!

I love them and wear them all the time. In fact, I wore them when we were in WDW in August. My feet never ached at the end of the day. :thumbsup2

Good Morning! :surfweb:
Sorry I missed chat last night. By the time I got home from the crop I went to I was just beat. It's been a long week and it just caught up with me.

Hey Diana! I saw you last night! :3dglasses
It was around 6:30pm and you were on 146 heading south at the traffic light at Rt 9. I imagine you must have stopped at Lowe's. I was heading to Michael's on the way to the crop. I called your cell phone but got your v.m.

We were at Lowe's! Did you honk your horn because I remember someone was honking while I was at the light and I started to have a bit of road rage about impatient people and honking and where am I gonna go when the light is red. Now I think it's hysterical if it was you! :lmao:

We went to Red Robin for dinner then headed to Lowe's and Petsmart and for the record--not to return the jeans, to buy DOG FOOD!! For the DOG!! We talked about Penny in chat last night, I'll have to post a pic of her.

Gas around here is around $2.40 or so but I have been filling up with E85 and it should be around $.30 a gal less I can go two weeks USUALLY between fill ups in the Avalanche BUT its $65.00 or so then so every little bit helps!

Squid

So your Avalanche takes E85 and they have it at the regular gas stations out by you? They are tearing apart the Mobil station by our house and we're wondering if it's to make it E85 friendly.

They have it at a few places around here so I have to figure out when I will be low so I get to one of them.

Okay, I need some posts so I'm breaking up one long one into several, LOL. Here goes:

1) What is your packing strategy? (do you pack a week ahead, the night before, the day you leave, etc.) Probably pack during the week before to make sure I don't forget anything. I have the ultimate cruise packing list from online but...

2) Do you have any pre-vacation rituals? I also clean the house but only because I know it's kinda chaos when we get back with new things (goodies) to add to what's already in the house. Also have to find accomodations for the pooches, like Marla.

3) What deck are you on for this cruise and what do you like best about that location? Hmmm...not even sure, down in the bowels, where it's cheap, LOL! Forgot to try for that SPH room, we had that once and it was great!

4) What category are you in and what made that your choice? Money!

5) Where are you staying the night before and why did you choose that location?
Staying at PopC, same reason as above..Money! This whole cruise is a stretch for us now. I just cancelled my spa appts. and the eco tour excursion as well. But we ARE doing the magical gathering w dd. That will be way too much fun!

Robin,
Ian is just too cute as a pirate! Nice picture of the two of you.

Sheesh, I had 14pages to catch up on! This is a chatty post from me.

I'm here in AZ! The weather is fantastic and I have free internet..YAY! I really wish they'd do this at Disney already but it's $10/day there :-( Time change has caught me off guard, I've been up since 2am but didn't get online until 4:20..call it self control, LOL! I had a sad day yesterday though. I came into Phoenix and rented a car to head to Jerome. Jerome is a little artist type community built into a hillside..nice yarn store and "haunted" hamburger joint was the main attraction for me,:-). I'd been warned about the road up..I have a fear of heights and bridges but I'd been able to do a similar road (I thought) two years ago. So I start up the road, made it into the city limits of Jerome and almost to the top when....I FROZE...literally. I could not press on the excelerator and my heart started to pound out of my chest. I almost cried. I had 4 cars behind me. I waved them passed me and then I did the only thing I could, I inched the car around and headed back down. What got me was the last turn was a hairpin cliff, just the site of it sent me into a full blown panic. I'm dissappointed in myself. I like to conquer my fears but I couldn't do it this time :-( Darn it. So I spent the rest of the day at Talpapque in Sedona then headed out the LONG way to Flagstaff because the short way is another "scenic" cliffy road. But I'm here and I treated myself to a nice meal at Olive Garden, lonely but yummy. They have a new dessert, a chocolate gelato with chocolate chunks and carmel sauce..YUP I devoured it!

I'm a mypoints person and just got some gift card from them. Now I've signed up for his one too, hope it goes well. I hate the ones that make you do surveys etc. I'm a click on it type.

I love our minivan. We don't need it for kids and such anymore but I just love the way it drives like a car and gives you a view above the road. We've had a MV since 1989! Our last one was a 2002 we are still paying on...wonder if we'll get another. Of course I have a convertible so that sort of balances it out, LOL.

Well after being up since 4:20 it's probably time to get up and take a shower, get some breakfast (I noticed a natural foods supermarket next door to the hotel here) and get on my way to sunset crater which I will not see at sunset I think, LOL.

Hope I don't have another 14 pages this evening but I'm soooo happy they have free internet here!

Have a good day all!

Ilene, who is on her way to 300 posts, LOL!

:surfweb: Good Morning everyone,

I didn't honk my horn because it didn't notice your car till just before the light turned green. I did think about it but I was in the turning lane and like 3 cars behind you so I didn't expect you to ba able to figure out the honking was me and coming from so far back.

Had fun in chat last night! I forgot to tell you guys - I'm so excited, one of Matt's 2nd cousins (ok the little boy of one of his cousins) sent us a FLAT STANLEY to take around and then send back to the class.

So I know we have a lot of moms and dads here - what are good things the kids like to see Flat Stanley do? How long do we keep him before we return him?

Just busting on ya.
I'm glad Diana didn't get to pick on you to much in chat...I would have been bummed to miss that and the jibes you'd be zinging back at here!!

Oh so my cursing was comletely justified then! :lmao:

I was actually very preoccupied with the car next to me in the turning lane. There was a kid in the back seat, I'd say maybe he was in kindergarden. The mother (I'm assuming it was his mom) was driving a pretty new Honda Accord and the kid was in the back seat hopping all around. I was staring in disbelief that first of all the kid didn't have a booster seat but I was thinking maybe he was older than 6 and was small, but he didn't even have a SEAT BELT on!!! She saw me staring and I think I even had my mouth open and must have told the kid to stop but I was amazed by the whole incident, so I probably wouldn't have noticed you Stacy anyway.

You were justified all right.

I think I would have been staring opened mouthed too if I saw some kid that looked like he should be in a car seat bouncing around not even seatbelted in. What was that women thinking. I bet she had her seatbelt on.
