2006 DVC Member Cruise - SSMC06 - October 22, 2006 Part 4

Have fun & I hope you have good weather.

We have a very busy weekend coming up. Our town has their annual labor day festival which spreads out 3 days. We're doing volunteering for Boy Scouts at 7 a.m. Sunday morning, I'm doing Cub Scouts from 9-2 Sunday, Walker is doing Cub Scouts 11-2 Sunday, Walker & Gary are walking in the parade on Monday, afterwards Cameron's doing cleanup along the 1 1/2 mile stretch of the parade when it's over, Cameron & Gary are doing pop, ice & water delivery for Boy Scouts from 4-8 on Monday and Walker & Gary are selling pizza for Adventure Guides from 12-2:20 on Monday. Come Tuesday, we're going to be glad to get back to work & school.

Cameron asked me yesterday morning if we get to have any "fun" at the fest. Yep, that would be Saturday morning when we take the kids with their friends to the carnival and Saturday night when the kids stay home and Mom & Dad go with Mark & Mary to hear Gary Sinisi & the Lt. Dan Band play. Anyone else want to come out and join us???

Wow, sounds busy, Cindy!!! I wish that we could join you!!!

Another day, and 72cents from the federal government.

To avoid the acusations that I am running uo my post count I'll do this all in one.

Amy - Like the new all inclusive pic!!

Mary - With the way the taps on the board have suddenly opened it should be interesting what the final post count is. The question I have is since you and Mark pay for the on-board service does the board get closed out at the "Sail Away party" or just before Customs clears us back into the country? ::cop: (Or since a bunch of us are partying afterward does it end November 1? ) Hmmmm

Thoughts to ponder on a long weekend Friday (enjoy, I have to work all weekend. grrr )

Mary, I wouldn't just send it to her.

I'd list it on ebay and then tell her that she could purchase it that way.

That is, unless a konk kooler appeared at my door. Then I just might ship it right off to her.

It was a Coke promotion during the Olympics. You'd go to the Coke website and enter codes from your Coke products and they'd give you an "event." If the USA won a medal in that event you got 5 free 2 liter bottles of Coke. You could also request something like 5 codes be mailed to you every day. I got in on it late so I ONLY earned 40 free 2 liters. ONLY.

After receiving all of my coupons, I realized there was no way we'd drink that much Coke. So I asked KT's youth group leader if they could use them for their get togethers. She snatched them up so fast.

Worked for me, worked for her!!!

We gave a bunch away too!! I had a TON of them!!! But, I'm such a cheapskate that I didn't want any of those coupons to go to waste, so that's why I sent Chris to Walmart at 10:30pm last night!

Thanks Mary! It's one that we had taken last night. The rest of them won't be in until Sept, but I had them print this one off last night because I needed it for a project that I'll have in Phoenix.

So someone asked what we need to do to get to 20,000 by sailing day. Well we need approximately 5608 posts. Divided by the 51 days we have left that means we need to do 110 posts (or 7.3 pages) per day.

Ok, I did my part on this today!!!

And, I'm almost caught up!!!

Curt the chatting will go on long after the cruise. The 2005 cruise ended on September 8th but last post on the thread was on January 23, 2006. I think many of us would still be posting there but moved over here to plan this cruise.

Yeah, Mike didn't mention that in his article....the "hunt out the DISer that brought the most medical equipment" strategy.

Ohh, that's right! I was actually thinking about a WDW family trip (with 11 of us) where Emily got sick. It was NOT pretty!!!

I will tell you that we now try to bring ALL the different medications, just in case. We've always brought fever reducers, etc, but now we have it all. But, not as much as a pediatrician, I'm sure!

So I'm sure no one would be surprised that if you go to ebay and do a search on Disney Cruise Line Lotion there are two auctions currently up selling the free lotion/shampoo you get on the ship.

Nope, not surprised at all!! Maybe I need to put all my Mickey soaps & shampoos on eBay?!?!?!?! NOT!!

So what you are saying is maybe I should hold off and wait until they are officially not on the ship anymore and sell this big giant bag of mine for top dollar?

Ok, I think that I'm finally caught up (I, of course, could skip ALL of my posts)!!!

I should be in chat tonight. Chris is taking Emily to grandma's house tonight, and I think that he's taking Madison too. So, the house will be quiet, quiet, quiet!!!

So while Amy was flooding the thread with posts I was taking pictures!

Here the chain--nothing fancy, just Mickey colors. I have it hanging from the ceiling in the family room, just high enough that the girls can reach it thinking if they rip more links off we can go sooner! The picture is taken from the steps to the kitchen before you think I'm 8 feet tall.

And this is what I've been working on crafts wise. I'm in a quart sized paint can swap over on the Creative Boards and I had to make 4 of each cans to swap. I can't wait to get the others back because those ladies do some incredible work!

Group A The Fab Five--Minnie Mouse. That's an altered mini composition notebook for the filler.

Group B Princesses--Cinderella. That's a mini accordian album for the filler.

I actually recently had all of my mickey soaps and shampoos (WDW and cruise) sitting in a basket by the door. I was going to take them to the women's shelter and donate them. They sat there for a couple of weeks. Finally, I had to clean up b/c Mark and Mary were coming and then I thought....this is enough SOAP to last us 4 years, why am I giving this away and then going to have to go buy my own????? Bar soap lasts forever! The shampoo won't last as long, but hey, we're on a budget now. Every bit will help!

I know what you mean Karen! I cleaned out our bathroom closet about a month ago, and put all the Mickey soaps and shampoo into a gallon ziploc bag because I couldn't bear to throw it out! Now, knowing that the inexhaustable supply is about to run out, I don't know if I can stand to part with it!
