Oh Cindy & MaryJ, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE blue crabs.

My Mom & I can sit down with a bushel of blue crabs and go to town. Not everyone enjoys them or knows how to eat them. In regards to soft shell crabs I've never had them. It's when the blue crab sheds it's hard outershell because it's growning and for a period of time it's just like a skin that protects them. Many people do consider them a special treat to have. They are usually breaded and fried.

Welcome Northerngirl,

Diana, WOW, Great Books!!!!!

Cindy, Welcome Back!!!

Julie... Good Luck!!! ;)

Everyone Else... Hi :wave2:

So here is the skinny on out week Camping out with the Boy Scouts. Like I posted previuosly we had a lot of fun.

Our camp site was huge and we had plenty of tents and many empty tents. The camp provides the tents which are wood pallet floors with wood frames then green canvas like something from a WW1 movie (I'll have a link with pictures at the end of the post).

We had meals in the Dining Hall and we would have to send 3 boys down about 15 minutes before the meal so that could set the tables and be the waiters for that meal and then they would have to stay to clean up the table.
Let me tell you they fed us well. We did not have one bad meal in my opinion. They even did a "Christmas in July" one day where the dining hall was decorated and Santa stopped by. Oh and you ALWAYS sang a song at meals (the songs were really goofy and cute).

We had a little rain the first night but the majority of the week was warm and humid. We did get a downpour on Friday afternoon. Now let me set this up for you. All the tent flaps had to be rolled up in the morning before the boys went off to go do their stuff because they do a site inspection everyday. Well the boys are gone and the only ones in camp are myself, Jeff and 2 of the older boys who are the Patrol leaders. Well it starts pouring like mad so we are running around the camp to put the flaps down on the tents so that everyones stuff can stay dry. Well we got soaked down to our undies.
It was such a riot!

We got the highest score on our site inspection one day so the next day our Troops flag got to fly at the camps main flag pole. We had to have 7 of our boys be the colorgaurd to raise and lower the American, State, & trrop flag in the morning and lower them at night. Well Nick was the only "new" scout that got picked for the colorgaurd.

We also did some goofy things too like fly a pringles can and some swim trunks from the flagpole. All in all we had a good time.
There wer so many other things but this post would be huge!
So enjoy a couple of pictures!

I can't wait for our Fall Camporee in Saratoga State Park at the end of September. Their will be a Native American Festival going on at the park that weekend also so the boys will be going to that.

Looks like you guys had a fun camping trip. I love your tent in the tent picture with your shoes neatly sitting on the side - you make a good scout :thumbsup2

Just dropping by to say hi :wave2: since I haven't been active on this board.

I can't believe the cruise date is getting so much closer from the day we all booked it back on Dec 3rd of 2005!!!
Can't wait to meet many of you all IRL on the cruise.

P.S. I am a die hard scrapper too

Man oh man! We have a bunch of chatty Cathy's on this thread! It took me a while to get caught up.

Welcome back to everyone who was away!

Welcome to northerngirl and scrappindeb! There is a wealth of information on Mary and Mark's site but don't hesitate to ask any questions here. Everyone is extremely helpful and knows a lot about Disney cruising!

I never made it into chat last night. I ended up watching BB7 and going to bed. I had a busy day in meetings most of the day. The weather in MA will be extremely HOT and humid the next few days. Hopefully, the building will be cool!

I never did make it to Cafe Express yesterday. I'll try and do that tomorrow. I want to get our stuff ordered this week. I am in the same boat :rotfl2: as many of you in regards to losing weight! I was doing good for a while but haven't been to a WW meeting in about a month. I need to get back on track!

We haven't made any plans for F&W yet either. I think I'll mention this to Tom and perhaps he can make up our minds for us as to what we want to do. I also need to re-apply for DDE since ours expired at the end of June.

I really wish DVC would provide information about SSMC06. It would be great to know what they have planned for us! I thought for certain we would've heard something by now. Oh well! I'm sure we'll hear something soon.

Annmarie

Edit: I just noticed I have over 3,000 posts!

Congratulations on #3000! :cheer2:

I just noticed that I received an email from Marriott. Did anyone else see or hear about this? I'm not looking to start a debate but rather passing on information.

Dear Annmarie:

In order to accommodate the preferences of the vast majority of our guests, all Marriott® hotels in the United States and Canada will become 100% smoke-free by October 15, 2006.

This is the industry's largest move to a smoke-free environment and includes over 2,300 hotels and corporate apartments under the Marriott, JW Marriott®, Renaissance®, Courtyard®, Fairfield Inn®, SpringHill Suites®, Residence Inn®, TownePlace Suites® and Marriott ExecuStay® brands. The new policy includes all guest rooms, restaurants, lounges, meeting rooms, public spaces, and employee work areas.

Currently more than 90 percent of Marriott guest rooms are already non-smoking, and smoking is prohibited in many public spaces due to local laws. Designated smoking areas will be made available outside of the hotel for our guests who smoke.

This policy will enhance the level of service and care we can offer our guests. We hope to see you soon in our new smoke-free hotel environment.

I wonder how many others will follow?

Welcome to scrappindeb, join in the chat!

Annmarie,
Glad to hear your finger is better.:thumbsup2 It's going to be blistering hot here in MA for the rest of the week sounds like. It's times like these I'm so thankful for our central AC and at work too. I'm very spoiled, I grew up with few luxuries funny how you can get spoiled really fast.:teeth:
Our DDE expired in May but we don't have AP's in hand so I don't think I can order our new DDE card until we get down there and pick up the AP's.
We are going down on Aug. 23rd so we'll get them then so we can use them for our Aug dining ressies. I can't wait already!:woohoo:

Everyone,
Pricing on the F/W fest is very high we will skip the private events this time around and just wander about through the public ones. I do think I'd like to see Gloria Gaynor at eat to the beat though.:rockband:

Interesting about the Marriot group.:smokin:

Haven't ordered anything through Cafe express yet. I did take advantage of the Disney store 80% off sale though and got two lime green icon tshirts. One is a surprise for DH the day we leave.

Add me to the list of weight non-losers. :guilty: I was doing so well and have capped off at 32 1/2 lbs. I've been totally stuck, but the positive side is while I haven't lost anything in a few weeks, I also haven't gained anything. Maybe my body just wants to be this size? :confused3 I have to admit, I've pretty much stopped going to the gym with this heat the last couple of weeks. They don't have AC in the gym where there classes are--just big giant fans. On days like today when it's already 75 degrees and the air is as thick as pea soup, I just can't breathe when I'm jumping around and running laps. I just as long as I'm maintaining and not gaining, I'm still ok--I have 14 1/2 more lbs before I reach my goal, if I work really hard after the heatwave, I just may make it for the cruise.

:bday: HAPPY BIRTHDAY RON (rsschneck dh):bday:

Good Morning! :surfweb:

Yes, but you should be EXTREMELY proud of losing 32 1/2 pounds!!! That's AWESOME, Diana!!! Good luck with those last few!!!

Ooohhh, we're getting close to another milestone, too!!!

Good morning everyone!

Count me in as someone who wanted to lose before the cruise. Didn't happen. In fact I gained a few.

Diana - you have done great and i know you will make goal. Maybe not by the cruise but you will make goal. I am so proud of you! BTW - forgot to tell you I finally got a chance to look at your pictures last night. Awesome pages!

Debi - nice to see you posting. Hope you can stick around and post with us for the next 12 weeks!

For anyone who hasn't done so already - head over to CafePress and see the great store that Diana set up. Some great things to order to help you remember this cruise! Remember that the plan is to be in matching shirts for sailaway! The nice thing with CafePress is that everyone can pick a shirt that is right for them. Be it a fitted shirt for women, or a colored shirt for those who perfer that. Thanks again Diana!

:cheer2: Congrats on 3000 posts, Annmarie!!:cheer2:
