Diana,
Big lesson to learn...don't tell them to early!!! I don't blame you for being excited. When my kids were little it was Raffi and Sharon Lois and Bram.

I LOVE Raffi. By the time my kids were old enough for Raffi he wasn't touring anymore. :( I'd have LOVED to go to a Raffi concert.

1) How are you getting to FL (fly, drive, already live there)? Flying into JAX then driving to the World

2) Are you planning on attending the Saturday afternoon DIS meet? did I miss this??? when and where? we will try.

3) How are you getting to the cruise (rental car, own car, Disney transportation)? rental car - count us in for the caravan of FUN

4) How many days before the cruise are you getting in and are you doing WDW? Saturday

5) How many days after the cruise are you staying in the area and are you doing WDW? 2 days at BWV - MNSSHP and Food and Wine - leaving Saturday

6) This one is for DVC if they are reading :) - do you hope the ship backs in, pulls in, or does it different each of the two days? I will be out on Deck with Diana... BOTH is my vote though.....

Item 1 - MINI MEET TONIGHT!! Jeff(Copper3) & bvcprincesses (Ann Marie, Tom, Brooke & Jessica), Karen & I will be getting together for a hastily arranged meet at the DVC Block Party at Pleasure Island. Note to self: The CROWDS here are INSANE (one of the benefits of having the ability to come during school time:woohoo: ).

Mini-Meet Report...

The rain stopped in plenty of time for the meet this afternoon - quite cooperative those clouds. And just as Cheryl and I were closing our umbrellas, Cheryl looks across and goes, "There's Karen!", and we make our way over. No word from Jeff yet.

We make our way in, the events are much more organized now as you get a nifty little coupon book with your raffle ticket and snack tickets inside, as well as information about discounts provided for dining choices in Downtown Disney (for after the event). And of course, blinky magnetic DVC pins once again.

The four of us get routed into the dance club with the beach shack motif, and find a spot to sit. Get some drinks, sit and chat. Somewhere along the way Jeff called and said he won't make it, but was hooking up for Beaches & Creame later. A call form Ann Marie and they found us not long after.

Curt played one of those basket ball arcade game things with Brooke & Jessica after laying out the rules for safe, but fun play. Tom went off to play video golfing, and I went off to play video skateboarding (very cool the controller is a skateboard thingy you ride). You'll have to ask the ladies what they discussed at that time, not a clue here.

Then we headed over to the other building (InMotion Dance Club) in search of Face Painting and Tatoos. Found Face Painting and fun little games to win silly little prizes. But no Tatoos. Asked around, still no Tatoos. Finally, Curt, using his natural crime solving instincts, tracked down the location of the Tatoos. And so we headed back over to the other dance club and up to the third floor (Elevator!!!) and found the Tatoos.

Not long after Cheryl and I headed off to a dinner at the Turf Club (yay! Blackberry Lemonade! yay!), and that was it for us. You'll have to wait to hear how Beaches & Creame + Illuminations went for everyone else.

Tom and Curt have pictures.

If Dan's on the bus you know it will be Sparkling Clean!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Not if we get detoured again to Ft. Lauderdale and Walker doesn't get to the resort before the car sickness sets in. Wouldn't that just put a crimp in Dan's plan! :rotfl:

Sounds like fun.

We are definately going to have to try Turf Club. Doesn't it figure, we've stayed at SSR for several of the past trips and now I don't have any idea when we will next. Somehow I just don't see us driving over there for the restaurant.

1) How are you getting to FL (fly, drive, already live there)? Fly

2) Are you planning on attending the Saturday afternoon DIS meet? Yes

3) How are you getting to the cruise (rental car, own car, Disney transportation)? We haven't decided yet.

4) How many days before the cruise are you getting in and are you doing WDW? We arrive on Saturday afternoon and will probably go to Epcot after our meet.

5) How many days after the cruise are you staying in the area and are you doing WDW? 4 days/3 nights and of course we will be doing WDW! So far we have MNSSHP on 10/26, Wishes Fireworks Cruise on 10/27 (thanks Roxann) and the last night is still up in the air but I'm sure we'll think of something!

6) This one is for DVC if they are reading - do you hope the ship backs in, pulls in, or does it different each of the two days? Different please! That way everyone gets to see CC.

We went to concerts and really had fun (hmphf there were no ipods to drown out the songs, lol). It's great to get excited about these things...it's why we have kids..so WE can be kids again! Glad you got that great price too.
OMG! We took Shawn to the South Shore Music Circus to see SLB a long time ago. I still have that song stuck in my head, "Shimmery Rinky Dinky Dinky Dinky Dinky Doo! I love You!"

And now so do I.

I love you in the morning, and in the afternoon. I'll love in the evening and when the sky is blue.

Actually, they sang that during kindergarten graduation. It was rather cute but I've heard it enough to know that once in my lifetime was enough.

I am just happy to finally be on a Disney cruise, but both ways would be best.

I couldn't agree more!

By the way, I went to Verizon Wireless with Shawn today because I accidentally plugged his Razr phone into my blackberry car charger and damaged his phone. Unfortunately the phone couldn't be repaired but luckily, his phone was insured so he was able to get a new one. The only bad thing was that they couldn't transfer any of his information from his old phone to the new since the USB port was damaged. Shawn was able to re-enter all of the phone numbers but lost his downloads, ringtones and a bunch of pictures. I felt so bad because he had a really nice picture of Fenway Park that he took while at a game earlier this year. We were in the store for about 2 hours while he re-entered the numbers!

I'm not happy that I broke his phone I am happy that we went to the Verizon Wireless store! I was waiting for Shawn to finish re-entering his numbers and walked all around the store. Well, in the back corner there was a clearance rack and as I spun it around I found a Mickey Mouse phone holder for only $9.99! It hooks onto a pocketbook or belt loop. I was so excited and bought one. I showed it to Shawn but for some reason, he didn't have my same enthusiasm! Annmarie

A caravan would be COOL!:cool1:

We are planning on driving to the new M & M store before we head to the Port. DD doesn't know yet. She will be very surprised:teeth:

1) How are you getting to FL (fly, drive, already live there)? Flapping our wings and flying.

2) Are you planning on attending the Saturday afternoon DIS meet? Wouldn't miss it.

3) How are you getting to the cruise (rental car, own car, Disney transportation)? Rental car to the port, Disney transportation back to the airport.

4) How many days before the cruise are you getting in and are you doing WDW? 8 - We're arriving the Saturday a week before to do all the parks, MNSSHP on one of the DVC discount days, and relax. Except for a few days visiting my family in the spring, we haven't taken a vacation since last October so we're taking as many days as David can get off for this trip.

5) How many days after the cruise are you staying in the area and are you doing WDW? Sadly, none. We're going straight from the port to the airport. :(

6) This one is for DVC if they are reading :) - do you hope the ship backs in, pulls in, or does it different each of the two days? Both ways would definitely be nice.

Roxann - just a reminder that since it will be Sunday the mall won't open until noon.

Bummer, Could be a Saturday trip or maybe a stop on our way back to WDW. Thanks for the the information Mary. I will have to ask DH when he thinks we should go. DD doesn't know so she won't care.

Mini Meet Report....

Todd is a great fiction writer. "Rules for safe and fair play?" I made stuff up so Ann Marie's adorable daughters didn't wipe the floor with my keester (or is it keister? :scratchin - Remember that is a Trivia Question...)

The night started just as Todd said, the rain was ending and Karen says to me, "Hey, that's Cheryl from the boards." just as they walked up. We had no idea that was going to happen (remember the Tigers were on..) So the more Dis'ers the merrier!!:dance3:

Tom, Ann Marie & her brood show up and the fun was on!party:

Jeff called and said that the project at work was taking longer and that he would meet up at the Beach Club for dinner.

Well after a harrowing experience on the Disney Bus :drive: :crowded: we all bailed at the Yacht Club :boat: and walked the remainder of the way and, thanks to Jeff, sat down immediately at Beaches & Cream. Unfortunately dinner and MANDATORY ice cream (and a little table "Tom"foolery extended our stay past Illuminations. After the ice cream was consumed Jessica's sugar high wore off and she wore down, so Tom and Ann Marie bade us farwell and made their way back to 'toga and a recharge to attack the parks again on Friday.

Jeff, Karen and I made our way back to Pleasure Island for fun and frolic only to land back at the Rock and Roll Beach Club (where we all started out in the first place) where we discovered a TV tuned to the Yankees game. Well that was as far as we got as our Garden State chauffer was firmly rooted to this spot only to see the Blue Jays knock out a 10th inning walk off homer to send the Bronx Bombers down in defeat. Well not to worry Karen and I consoled Jeff with lively conversation till about midnight when we all agreed it was time to call it a night.

We're sorry Todd & Cheryl couldn't join us for dinner - we had a great time harrassing our poor castmember and had a blast when she gave it right back.:duck: Our thanks to Jeff for hauling us around. Good seeing you again, buddy.

Finally a great big THANKS to Todd, Cheryl, Tom, Ann Marie, Brooke, Jessica and Jeff for meeting up with us. These DisMeets really help make this world we've created real. With 92 days and counting we cant wait to put faces with names in person and have a Wonderful cruise.

Here are some of the pix that I took. It would appear a great time was had by all.

We tried to stop on the morning we got off the ship but before we checked into Boardwalk. Got there at 9 am and they opened at 10. We went over to WDW - checked in, got a room, and then headed back. Great store! Just didn't want you to go all the way over and find it closed.

:cheer2: GO JAYS GO! :cheer2:

Sorry it's rare that I can cheer for them! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Thanks for the pics! and report!
