Opps - guess it just goes to show how expensive a scrapbook hobby can be. I should be paying bills this morning so I guess I have checkbook on the brain. No time - off to work I go.

Ain't THAT the truth!!!! :lmao:

That is pretty funny! :rotfl:

pixiedust: Pixie dust for Chris. Hope all goes well with the surgery.

Tom had another biopsy yesterday and happy to say there were no signs of the tumor. This was his second follow-up since surgery last October and the doctor said he can now follow-up once a year for the next five years.

I bought the copper color beach style and the off white/tourquose athens.

I bought them at Dicks. It's the only place around here that I know of with Crocs - althought they probably have them at Nordstroms as well since that's where I bought Walker's.

I thik I'm going to order a pair of the scutes online. The ones they had at Dicks seemed to be darker/men colors. And, the sizes were huge. I looked through them all, hoping to find a smaller pair but no luck. They do look very comfy.

Did I miss it? What color athens did you get? Let me guess, fuschia/lime green? ;)
Ok, I just might have to try these Crocs. I haven't jumped on the bandwagon yet, but since it's pretty much summer here all year long, I just might have to give them a try.

:cheer2: Great news for Tom!!!:cheer2:

Thanks for all the well-wishes everyone! I dropped Chris off at the hospital before dropping Emily off at day camp. I'll just hang around the house now, waiting for them to call me to pick him back up. His surgery is scheduled to start in the next few minutes, so hopefully all goes well!!!

Hang in there, Amy. We're thinking of all of you today. pixiedust:

Annmarie - great news about Tom.

Chris - saying a prayer for you that the surgery is successfull and without complications.

Amy - saying a prayer for you to as I know how nerve wracking it is to be the one waiting.

Ilene and Annmarie

Let me know what is happening with the Wishes Cruise. I am not working for a few days and could call DVC MS to inquire if you were able to get added to our Grand Gathering event. Keeping my fingers crossed that our boat is not already full.

Cindy, Hope all is well with your boy. There has been a real rash of viral meningitis around here (I am in Ontario) lots of camps have been stricken with it and at least 3 co-workers children have had it. I work in an ER sometimes (yes I am an RN) and I can say that I have never seen the numbers of it like I have this year. Hopefully it will pass quickly.

Chris--all the best for your surgery today

Thankfully my Cameron does not need surgery finally we saw the Head of Orthopedics at Sick Kids and decided that the casts in the past were not tight enough and the one he put on last week has done the trick. He already has some bone formation at the site and will have the cast off on Aug 4--thank god, I am so sick of hear I'm bored!

I am off to buy some bug spray since we are going camping next week

Jacqui

PD Chris, congrats Tom, PD Amy...

Hi all!!! Here is the update..

Well, my dr. emailed me back. he said that if my co-worker was contagious then the health department would be down on us quicker than a bob-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs. No need to worry.

My dad is still in PT, he had a bad night last night.

no one fell through the roof (yet) today!

The Master of the universe slept in today, and us off to Little Gym in a few minutes...

You're not kidding! The waiting is the worst. But, I need to get off this computer and do something to pass the time. I guess that since it's almost noon, I'll get Madison some lunch and do some more waiting.

Uggg!!! I just got a call from the hospital that Chris's surgery was delayed by an emergency in the hospital, so he hasn't even gone in yet. So, I guess my wait will be even longer. Oh well! At least Emily is taken care of for after school. I'll keep you guys updated, and please don't hang me for being pesky around here today.

The question is "contagious with WHAT?"

If it's viral meningitis, then the only action necessary is that you be alert for the signs and symptoms of meningitis (headache, stiff neck, fever, nausea)....
There IS NO PREVENTATIVE MEASURES to take for viral meningitis exposure. If your health dept passes out prophylactic antibiotics for a viral meningitis exposure than SOMEONE needs to educate them about CDC guidelines.

Now, if the person turns out to have BACTERIAL meningitis, all bets are off, but then they'll probably want to determine your level of exposure.

Too many people create a sense of panic when they hear the word "meningitis." What needs to be determined is the TYPE of meningitis and THEN CDC guidelines should be followed.

off soapbox now.

Roxann - I just sent you a pm. I'm not sure what's going on but MS is telling me it could be next week before I know if I can be added to the group rervation. Does that make any sense?

Thanks everyone for the good wishes for Tom. We were both very happy to get news yesterday. Tom was very nervous!

Amy - I went through a similar situation when Tom had surgery last year. You are in my thoughts. I think the family members have it worse than the patient! The patient is at least "knocked out" and unaware of the time that is passing.

Annmarie
