Well, I can tell you that most of my scrapbook events that I've gone to out of town have been class opportunities, more than crop events. I've been to 3 CKUs (Creating Keepsakes University) and they are set up like a school. You take 10 classes over 2 days, along with crops in the evenings. But, because the teachers give you class projects that can't necessarily be completed in class, you have "homework" that you can do at the crops. Plus, the crops are more like big parties with contests and socializing going on all the time.chipscinderelly said:Diana and Amy - I would love to hear how you prepare and pack your things for the scrapbooking weekends. That really seems like something I would like to do and would love to hear more about it. We do them locally at a good friends home when her husband goes on his annual fishing trip and it's so much fun!
The one that I'm going to in September is called Creative Escape by Heidi Swapp (big name in scrapbooking for those non-scrappers). Her event is also a class-based event.
I only bring the basic tools that I'll need to use at these events (trimmer, tool kit, adhesive, etc). If I think that there might be time for me to crop, I'll bring a couple of pre-planned page kits that I just need to assemble and add pictures and journaling.
Does that make sense? So, I don't have to do much to actually pack for the event. I have yet to do a big crop event because I'm just overwhelmed with the idea that I would need to get organized enough to bring what I need, but not overpack.
