Only 50, Jeff? :rotfl:

I don't recall anything really important and directly cruise related being posted lately.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEFF!!!party:

Amy that's cool that they are finally moving forward with the event! We heard rumors of it last year when we started the wedding planning and changed the Magic Kingdom minimums to $500k (OMG). I can't wait to hear more about it and see if we can sneak a trip in for it. Hopefully it will be something adults will like as well as kiddos.

Ho Hum - What to do today...:bored:

Oh I guess we'll go to a
dettiger.jpg
game!!!

LETS GO TIGERS!!!

Mom gave me some more details but I didn't write them down quick enough. I'll let you guys know a little later today. She gave me the dates, when the tickets will be on sale, the prices, and when the DVC/passholder discounts are. I'll get back to you guys soon. I know that we'll be going, since I'm sure it will be right up the girls' alley. I'm not sure that we'll go to the first ones, since I'm more willing to wait for any kinks to be worked out. But, mom did say that they would be having special parades and special fireworks too.

I just read on the main page of the DIS that Millionaire is closing. Is anyone else upset about this? This is one of the few attractions my mom looks forward to. There always seems to be a large crowd for each showing even at slow park times of the year. It says a new ride is coming in that area. I guess chalk one more up for the extreme rides taking out one of the slower shows.

Jeff

I liked Millionaire for a while and I LOVED it the 2 times we went during Star Wars Weekend :yoda: :darth: :chewy: But my last couple of trips we've done with cruises we just didn't want to take the time out to sit through it. I've read a lot about what's going to go there and I'm excited for it.

Although I can name several other attractions I'd like to see eliminated before they shut Millionaire, I guess "Midway Mania" or whatever it's called fit in that spot better.

3. Which current Disney star would you like to see perform on the cruise? Jodi Benson (loved her at Member Homecoming), Christy Carlson Romano
(Just about anyone BUT Andrea McCardle's family!!!!!)

Just curious, what's wrong with Andrea McCardle's family?

And, my mom said that they are supposed to impress on the guests that girls can be pirates and boys can be princes, they don't have to be in the "traditional" roles of boys as pirates, girls as princesses. When my mom first said this, Chris thought that she said that boys could be princesses and he about laughed his head off, but she clarified that boys could be PRINCES. Maybe you had to be there, but it was funny.

That's good because I have a princess: here who thinks she is a pirate: . We went to TDS last night, they are having an awesome sale, take an additional 25% off lowest ticket price. So I tell her to go ahead and pick out a new bathing suit for her and her sister, they were like $7 each. :thumbsup2 She wanted nothing to do with the ton of Princess bathing suits.....they had all the new Pirate stuff out--costumes, shirts, all the plush guys dressed like pirates (Pooh, Chicken Little, Marie). I ended up picking them out myself. Sure, it was fun for me....but Emma is only interested in pirate: and :car: .

But I ended up getting them 2 bathing suits, 2 sequined tshirts and 2 nightgowns for under $40! :cool1:

Andrea and her family were the guest performers on SSMC03.

Andrea has a beautiful voice and did a nice job. Her DH is a composer who has done things like the theme from Monday night football and stuff like that. He sat behind a keyboard the whole time. Their daughter is a teen who I think they envisioned as the next pop star. She wasn't a bad singer but she didn't have that "it" factor. She didn't look happy up there. They rotated between the three of them performing.

The performance by Susan Egan was much much better.

Diana - I too like the pirate stuff a bit more than the princess stuff!

We went to that sale this weekend and made out like bandits! 4 adult t's, 4 children's backpacks (wedding stuff), 4 child princess pens, 2 light up twirly dangerous cindrella toys and a buzz lightyear book all for under $50 - woo hoo!

I guess I should have clarified. I know who she is. I was so excited that she was the performer on SSMC03. When I was a little girl, Andrea McArdle was my idol. I was probably about 6 years old when I saw her as Annie on Broadway, I SO wanted to be her. I had the album and warped it, I played it so much. I wasn't exactly thrilled with the daughters performance as I agree, she didn't want to be there.

I was just curious as to why Robin would prefer anyone but Andrea McArdle and family, it just sounded pretty harsh to me. Susan Egan was definitely better, I think it was her personality too, she was funny, but I didn't think Andrea McArdle was that bad.

I was kinda disappointed because with all those $4.99 tshirts, they took out the "good" ones and put them on hangers and sold them for full price. Like the Cars ones. They did it for the Cars PJ Pals too. All PJ Pals were 9.99 except the Cars ones, they were $15 or something like that. I totally understand why, I'm just being cheap! :lmao:

They had an incredible Belle costume in my store for $15 but they only had it in size 8 and 10 and my girls are really far from being that size.

I'm trying hard to not buy the twirly dangerous light up toys for the girls just yet because I can see Emma using it as a weapon and hurting Julia with the twirlers! :rolleyes2

Diana - silly me forgot you were on SSMC03 with us :rotfl: I thought it was a good perfomance at the time. I do think that Jodi Benson and Susan Egan were better but I would take Andrea over many others that Disney couldh have brought in.

:rotfl2: well we bought those dangerous things for the flower girls - woo hoo someone else's kids ! :)

We did have to hunt and peck through the shirts. Matt picked out the Incredibles logo shirt and a Mickey shirt and I bought a different Mickey shirt and the Minnie shirt to go with his Mickey - say it all together now... AWWW

I did notice the sizing is totally different than the online store- it's much more regular size. I am so tired of buying larges online only to find out they are too tight - urgh!

I was thinking it could get ALOT worse--what about William Hung?? :lmao: Or has anyone heard that new Paris Hilton song? :scared:

Hey all,

Diana.. I was really kind of insulted to have to sit through all of those sports commercials. JMHO. Her voice us great, but we didn't need to pay extra for a half hour of sports commercials as a captive audience!

:figment:.

I take it you aren't a sports fan. You were "insulted"? Insulted as in you thought you were above having to listen to it? Did you not realize you were free to leave the show at any time and you weren't locked in the theater or chained to your seat? It's not like you bought tickets to the theater and they showed the performance on a television screen. That would have been insulting. And acutally I don't think you paid any extra for the show, you paid what DVC charged it's member for the cruise, the show was just something optional to participate in.
