Thanks again for all of the well wishes...

Amy Daaaaling,I would so love to see him dressed up all GQ, like the prince he is (or maybe more like Stitch;)), but Alas he is too young. I guess we will just have to get him a costume (Robin used to make ours...and Our dragons can shop at build-a-bear.

IleneF (and anyone else who is interested), The information about the TAGLIARCHY can be found at the following ling (the color wheel).

Our current thread is the Extreeme makeover thread...

(The current thread needs to be update on the wheel)

It is kind of like this thread only everyone is welcome (not that everyone isn't welcome here, but this thread doesn't make much sense if you aren't going to go on the cruise with us). You really only need to read back a few pages to get the feel of the thread. Please feel free to come by, take a dip in the M&M pool or watch a movie on the big-screens... It is Summer, so the pace is slow now... One thing different, we don't use real names just user ID's; it's a privacy thing, especially since we have some teens who like to post.

I think we are going to stop by the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in July and check it out. I would love to do the works package and that way we wouldn't have to pack costumes for the girls. I think they would love to have their hair and makeup done.

Both my girls have been sick this week and they are finally feeling better. We are going to go to the fireworks tonight. Should be a good time. We are going early to walk around with my dd's gymnastics coaches to pass out flyers for their new gym. Their gym is called All American Flames gymnastics and they have a mascot Flicker that is going around tonight. Should be fun but it is cooler here today. I bet it will be cold down by the river.

My dh had it done when we were down there earlier this month. :lmao: :lmao:

Evening all!

Busy day in our house. This is the first I'm posting --- which is unbelievable in itself. :chat:

Happy Anniversary Robin & David.

All the final touches are being done on Cameron's camp gear. He sure has a lot he's taking for the week -- not including the care package that he doesn't know is coming with one of the parents. Cameron is very ready -- a bit nervous and very excited. I know he's going to have a great time -- and I'll be counting down the days until he returns.

Errand running this morning and then we went off to the pool for the early afternoon. Walker challenged the drop slide -- into the 16' deep water today and succeeded! :thumbsup2 Cameron worked on his strokes for the swimming test tomorrow. A great day weather wise for the pool.

Then off to Cameron's baseball game later this afternoon. The won by a landslide tonight. Afterwards, they all received their trophies and the coaches sprung for pizza and pop. Tonight was another "fan support night" so we dug out our pirate gear again. We sure are getting a lot of use out of it this season. Playoffs start on Wednesday and if they win, Saturday is the next game and Cameron should be back in time to play.

It's bedtime in our house -- so night all. Cameron needs to be at the church about 6:15 tomorrow morning. So, it's going to be an early morning in our house.

Thanks for all the anniversary wishes everyone. It was so nice to come hear and see/feel all the love. ;)

We had a very nice dinner with a friend that's in town for a trade show. He even treated us since it's our anniversary. I'm so glad we took Ian with us, too. He was such a gentleman at the table, and he even tried so hard to use a spoon. It was very cute. After dinner we came back to the house for cake. It was the same kind of cake as we had for our wedding cake - orange marmalade & lemon with a cream cheese frosting.

I have a question for you e-bayers. The auction I won for the DCC piece the other day showed - and I paid - $12.55 for shipping. I also paid $3.35 for insurance. Then yestereday I received an email from the seller saying I owed more for shipping because she sent it by a different method than stated in the auction. My question is, should I be upset about this or not? Personally I feel I should have been contacted before the change/increase in cost but since this has never happened to me before I'm not sure if it's normal or not.

Your piece was mailed today via UPS Ground since the USPS store near my house was closed. I had to ship it via UPS instead. They charged me $32.89 including $8.00 for the 18 cube box. Therefore, I will send you an invoice for the difference of $18.93. I you like I can e-mail or fax you a copy of the receipt. Thanks, and I apologize for the inconvenience. Thanks

How much more is it? My son just recently started selling items on ebay. Twice, he has found the estimated shipping costs to be less than when he went to ship the items. He didn't charge the buyers any more money though. He just paid it himself so I'd be curious to see what our Ebay "professionals" think.

WOW, that is a hefty shipping charge. I know those pieces are heavy, but still. Whenever I have had the shipping be more than what I charged I paid it myself. My thought is what they enter on the auction is a contract you agree to. If it changes they should notify you before doing anything different. Especially when it is that much of a change. They should have contacted you to see if you wanted to wait till the post office was opened or pay an additional fee. I don't think you should have to pay it. Is this seller a new seller? I have only started selling on ebay recently so don't know as much as Diana and Cindy, so they might have a different experience. I personally would notify ebay of this and see what they have to say.

Personally, I think that the seller should just eat those costs. They did NOT contact you up front, and you should not have to pay those extra costs. I, personally, think that it's up to the seller to make sure that their shipping costs are correct.

I'm not an ebay professional in any stretch of the imagination, but I think you've paid enough for shipping. You're up to almost $16 for shipping. There has to be SOME way to ship it (with insurance) for that much!

Besides, what is stated in the auction is a CONTRACT. Obviously the seller wouldn't be happy if you won and then said "wow, I don't want to pay that much for shipping." In the same way you should not accept "gee, I goofed, you need to pay me more."

Having sold some on ebay I've found that every once in awhile I mis-judge shipping (not so much now with my postal scale) but when I did, it was MY loss. The buyer did NOT have to pay more.

So, no, I would not accept this "counter offer" to up the shipping. Remember, this piece WILL come up on ebay again, so if this deal goes sour, there WILL be another one eventually.

I didn't get to read much of yesterday's posts, so I still have some catching up to do, but I saw this and wanted to reply quick. When a person sells something on ebay and a buyer bids and wins, you technically have a contract to paid that price for receiving those goods. She can't decide after you've won, paid for and received the item that you should pay more. It's one of those risks you take as an ebay seller, you set your s/h prices and if it's more, you have to eat it, that's why the shipping calculator was invented. There's been a ton of threads with your exact same problem over on the budget board and they know exactly how you should reply to your seller and notify ebay---do a search over there, you'll have exactly what you're looking for with people who've been in the same circumstances.

Good luck on all of that, Robin!!! I hope that you get it resolved and you get your item!!!

I'm going with the rest of them - the seller is out of luck and should eat the overage.

Can you imagine the nightmare if everyone did what this seller is doing???? :scared1:
