We've staying mostly in the Spring Section. It's our favorite as the kids enjoy the theme pool and not the quiet pools. We've stayed directly across from the theme pool, on the side of the bus stop. A quick walk to Artists Palette and the bus stops.

We've had a view of one of the ponds and the soft shelled turtles float up to the top earlier in the day. A cool sight. And, be on the lookout for frogs at night along the paths. The kids loved trying to catch them.

Wow, that's great! I work at ARTIST'S PALATE!!! You will have to look for me! I'll be back to work by july 19th.....going to California to a wedding and then a week at Paradise Pier and going to Disneyland!

Count me in! I'm watching it now. So who are you going to vote for?

Annmarie

I can already say who I'm not voting for--Danielle, I couldn't stand her, and Nakomis and the crying cowboy dude.

I'm excited to see Bunky and still have my fingers crossed for Kaysar!!

Just got off the phone with Gail. She is feeling pretty good. Surgery went well and she was home by about 2pm. She sounds good, just still a bit tired. Don't know if she will get on line tonight, but will probably post sometime tomorrow when she has a bit more energy. She said they have some bad storms heading their way tonight.

Carol
Happy to hear that Gail's surgery went well!!!

Can't stand Nakomis or the Cowboy!!! I would vote for Kaysar and Howie, for sure!!!

I already voted for Kaysar. It seems like you can vote for one person each day. I like Howie and Chicken George. There's several people I just can't stand....that Ivette is another one.

Stacy, that is too funny!!! :rotfl2:

Cameron says it's really ironic that Nick has a teacher and a friend with the same last name. :rotfl:

When we met Nick's teacher before the cruise last year he asked if she had any relatives in Illinois and she said none that she knew of. So Nick proceeded to tell her about his new pen pal Cameron!
She thought it was pretty cool.
She is such a nice person, and can you believe she is still single. She is so pretty. Oh to be 25 again.

Ahhh Scouts. I remember well the days of scouting. I started with being the den mother, graduated to boy scout leader and asst. troop leader, DH too. I was also a GS Leader and 4H Leader. My son made Eagle Scout! Those were great years. The most youth oriented organization IMHO was 4H. It just seemed those involved with that group were most involved for the kids. Some scout leaders seemed to be trying to relive their lost youth and forgot the focus was the kids. Of course that differs from troop to troop.
My DS would say his best experience was with CAP. He got advanced awards in CAP too. I love camping and really enjoyed camping with both boy and girl scouts. It was a lot of work but alot of fun too.

I was a Den Leader, Advancement Chairperson and on the Commitee when Nick was in Cub Scouts and now in Boy Scouts I am just on the Commitee (for the moment). The things you do for your kids!

It's not the camping that would worry me --- it's spending a week with a bunch of pre-teen/teen boys that would do me in. :scared:

Actually us Adults got a kick out of the kids at the Spring Camporee. Their big thing was using the word "Dude" when refering to each other and it became a big joke for the Adults.

Plus some of the older boys are fun.

Actually tonight at the dinner I had 2 different moms tell me their sons really liked that I camped out at camporee and one mom even said her son was happy to hear that I was going to be at summer camp for the whole week. She thanked me for that and that I had joined the Commitee.
Hey when ya got it ya got it! :lmao:

I can't wait for Big Brother to start. :happytv: We watch almost anything that is reality shows. I hope for evil Dr. Will.

We are going to Disney July 19- 24. We found airfare for 105 RT from Detroit on NWA today and booked everything. I even called and got LeCellier for dinner the first night. I am sooooo excited. :cool1: I talked Tom out of going camping and going to Disney instead. We are staying at SSR. We have never been there. I requested Springs section but I know nothing about it.

Awesome news. :thumbsup2
My sister stayed at SSR in April and really liked it. We have yet to stay there.
My parents are going July 3rd thru 10th becasue thay got a similar type of deal thru SW.
They can't wait because the parks are open real late and then have the evening magic hours on top of that so like one night the MK is open to some ridiculous hour like 2 or 3am!

I've already asked the 1 mom going to summer camp if she will help Cameron with sunscreen.

Us Mom's have to do what we have to do.

Stacy, I'll thank you too.

Actually, come fall, I may do a campout myself. I feel like Cameron is just slipping away from me and growing oh so fast now. I hated being a den leader -- not because of Cameron, but because of the boys in the den as a group. I can tolerate the little kids but the mouthy 10-11 year olds did me in -- it seemed like they fed off of each other and got worse and worse each meeting. But, Boy Scouts is very different. There's a lot more Dad's involved and the attitude is checked at the door. :thumbsup2

Gail - hope you are feeling better for sure!

Ilene - pixie dust you feel better as well

The mini meet looked like fun!

Congrats on the 10,000 posts

Sorry we've been mia. My father in law in Chicago passed away on Friday (I was married before and my husband passed away) so I flew to Chicago Monday for the wake and funeral. It was great to see everyone but a very hard trip to make.

Sorry for your loss.

Gail - wishes for a speedy recovery!

Had a great day yesterday at the company outing. I took the trolley rather than an air conditioned bus to the country club but wouldn't do that again! The trolley couldn't go faster than 40 mph and it took an hour and 45 minutes to get there! On the way home I took the bus and was back at the office in 55 minutes (during rush hour traffic)! I had signed up for mini golf and volley ball but spent most of the day catching up with fellow employees that I don't get much chance to speak with any more. One good thing that happened was that many people noticed my weight loss. While I'm stuck at a loss of 21 pounds it was nice to see that people actually noticed. I was just saying to Tom I'm not motivated to exercise but the nice comments may be just the incentive I need.

It's going to be a busy day today. Have a good day everyone! Oh yeah! I'm going to vote for Jannelle too. I liked her on Big Brother too.

I know what you mean about the boys feeding off each other. Luckily I had a small group so it wasn't bad and there was always an equal ratio of boy to parent.

Sorry to hear about your Father in law.

I just had a co-worker pass away on Monday. He was only 29 years old and was just married back in October.
It was a bit of a shock. He first got sick not 2 months ago and then wham. They say it was a bad bacterial infection.
