We recieved our package from DCL today too!!! I love going to the mail box and finding something from Disney.

Well the first day of camp went well for Nick. He really enjoyed it. That is until Grandpa picked him up. We always had this same problem when he was at DayCare.....

I will post my get to know me facts when I get back from the grocery store....

well now I knew that didn't I, it just didn't click for me Well, I'm continuing to nurse a pinched nerve. I go for an MRI tomorrow to see if it's a disc or bone spurs. The pain is NO fun but I'm keeping my spirits up by thinking of the cruise. The little DCL mail today sure did help as does reading all your posts.
I don't think I'll be able to do the banana boat ride this time though but maybe parasailing Quite frankly I'd be happy to sun in a hammock the whole time (as long as I can knit too!).
Oh I had one more thing to ask: how do you know what kind of insurance to get. I have never done it but with MIL getting pretty frail and my own issues it might be a good idea. I went to insuremytrip.com but I'm still confused. I don't care about anything really except to be able to get $$ back if the weather or our health affects trip plans.

night before cruise for not too much money? We are getting in at midnight the night before, transportation isn't an issue as my dd can pick us up and take us and since she was going to take us to the boat on Sunday anyway. Just curious where others have stayed that has worked out well.

I just wanted to say thank you to Jeff, Mark & Mary and Amy and her family. It was wonderful to meet you last week! Although it was brief, I am really glad we could hunt you down to say hello!

Ilene - I'm not a knitter but I can offer a piece of advice. We tried to do a few group things on the last Member Cruise and quite frankly DVC planned so much that we never really had time to do them. We cancelled one event (the room tour) because the leader got sick and we had conflicts. Another event which was a scrapbook class had pretty good attendance but personally I wouldn't go again because we had to give up some other things to do it.

As for where to stay the night before. If I was getting in that late I'd stay right at the Hyatt. We usually stay either at Disney (which we are doing this year) or near the port (which we did in May).

The one thing I love in people is _____? To put a more positive spin on my answer, I changed this slightly... I love that generally people have good hearts and sometimes just a smile unleashes that kindness.

While we're on the topic of questions, have any of you used your Member magnets again after the SSMC05 trip? I'm considering bringing mine for our trip this September but am slightly concerned that it might disappear from our door... not to say that Members are inclined to take advantage of a five-finger discount when given the opportunity.

On Sunday, I booked our Palo reservations and cabana massages for our September voyage - less than 90 days away! Any new experiences we should know about before we go?

I got a mail from DVC today also! The kids are bummed. I think it's finaly hitting that they are not going. It's testing time the week of the cruise . I told them we would try to take them on a cruise for spring break instead.

Congrats on booking Palo and your massages - you are going to have a great time.

To answer your question on the magnets - mine is still on the back of the Subaru where we put it on the ride home.

No need to bring yours. When we were just on our May cruise we got one on our door by the DVC staff. I had stopped by the DVC desk to ask when the member party was going to me and they told me and said they knew who all the DVC members onboard were even if not booked on points (we weren't). That night we got the invitation to the party and the magnet on our door.

New experiences - if you like Pirates of the Caribbean stay after the pirate party to watch it on the Dumbotron under the stars. Also the new Goofy Gallery has great pastries in the morning and sandwhiches during the day. Also check out Cove Cafe for lots of yummy treats all day long.

Mary, thanks for the update on the magnets! That's great news. Before I left, one of the projects I was working on was the identification of Members sailing without using points. We were in the testing phase of determining Members via database comparisons and tests were successful up to that point. I'm thrilled to see that it's now in full practice.

When I designed and ordered the magnets for SSMC05, I ordered enough to be used for exactly what you experienced. The idea was to identify Members throughout the ship as away to encourage non-Members to ask Members about the magnet and about DVC. The legacy lives on! Thanks for the update.

We'll look for the other things you mentioned. Will hasn't experienced the pirate party before, so the whole thing will be new for him.
