Happy Birthday Karen!

:bday: :cake: :bday: :cake: :bday:

Just wanted to mention that last night while shopping at TDS I came across DIS green Mickey antenna balls - anyone else purchase any yet? Of course, I picked up a few and will be getting a few more before I head down to WDW next week.
And I also saw "Crocs" at the local Hallmark store again - and this was a different store - guess they stocking different merchandise besides cards nowadays.

:cake: ::MickeyMo Happy Birthday Karen!!! ::MickeyMo :cake:

(And, may I take this opportunity to compliment you on your lovely name??) :teeth:

Looking for a cool idea for the kids???

My daycare kids and I made "clean mud" this morning. It was a blast! :cool1: I took a bar of ivory soap and grated it up --- just like a brick of cheese would be done. I haven't bought ivory soap in forever and forgot just how soft it truly is. Then each of the kids took a roll of toilet paper and unrolled it into our water table. We added an entire bucket of water to that and then the grated ivory soap.

It turned out wonderful. The kids loved the feel of it and played in there for a good long time with clean sand box toys (well, if they were not clean then, they are now :) ). I have the cover on it now and the directions say that it will last for several days. Next time they want to play, if it's dry, I'll just add some more water.

It's really, really cool! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

But, I have to say, it's outside on my deck so I really don't care if it's messy. The kids did get some in their hair (good thing not in their eyes or mouths) but cleanup was a breeze. All they needed for their hands was running water. :teeth:

Hi everyone,

This past weekend I was at WDW and ate at Yachtsman Steakhouse (it was excellent!). While there I noticed a rather large table in a room by itself and thought that would be an ideal place if there were more landlubbers like myself (I don't eat seafood) who would want to have a mini-DIS dinner there. So, I asked my waiter about it and he introduced me to the area manager for Yacht and Beach restaurants. She said she could accomodate us but we would need to let her know ASAP. The table sits up to 20 and she said 20 would be tight but still doable. There was a gourp of about 14 and they looked rather relaxed, but that doesn't mean we can't do 20 if need be.

So, my question is would anyone be interested in a dinner there as a group either in October or another time when a lot of us are down at the same time?

OK, for the unimaginative people (me  ) You unroll a roll of toilet paper, add grated soap and water and it turns to mud? :confused3 Do you have to rip each sheet or just keep unrolling?

Can you tell I'm about ready to run to Walmart for some soap because I'm really running out of fun and exciting ideas. It's gonna be a long summer......

Exactly! We unrolled, added the water and the soap last.

I think the trick is to use the Ivory soap. It's really soft and when I got down to the end of grating, I just mashed what was left with a fork. It was really soft.

The kids did both tearing and unrolling. I don't think it really mattered -- because once the water is in there, it disintigrates anyway.

It's what they call "clean mud" in the instructions. It looks very similar to cottage cheese texture (ugh, oh, that's white stuff for you Diana :guilty: ). The kids loved moving it around with the sand box toys.

My boys are outside playing in it again! :thumbsup2

Hi Jeff, thanks for the offer.

I think we're going to pass. Although Cameron would really love Yachtsman, we're going to save that for another trip. We have never been there so it's definately one our to-do list. Just not in October.

Maybe someone else will join you!

I LOVE Yachtsman, it's one of my favorite WDW restaurants. However, I just don't see my girls doing well there! :lmao:

I'm hoping to fit it in while I stay at the YC during my August trip with friends and no kids. :teeth:

OK, great, now I'm hungry!

:bday: Happy Birthday Karen! :bday:

Cindy - don't you just love that soap. We used it in Cub Scouts with the boys when they were earning there Whittling Chip Card. Bar of soap, plastic knife and sooner or later they earn their first pocket knife!

Diana and anyone else from Bergen County, NJ,

On a thread on the Mouselaneous board someone reported a house from Extreme Makeover is in Bergenfield on New Bridge Road. I'm going to send my dad to take pictures tomorrow (he is a nosy, pushy person so he is perfect for the job :thumbsup2 ).

What channel is that show on? The people whose house it is are in WDW until Thursday when they return home.

I got some great news today.

The other day when David went to register Ian for camp and school for the fall, he was told that all the spots in his age group - all 4 sessions - were filled for the summer. Today I got a call that they added more classes for his age group since there was so much interest. :yay: Ian is now registered for 3 of the 4 sessions of camp - just 2 days a week. I'm thinking about adding the fourth session, too. He is so ready for more - more socialization, more learning activities, more time away from mommy. Okay, that last one may be more for me, but he's really started that cling-on phase so getting away from mommy for a few hours a day will be good for him too. Besides camp, we've got music class one day a week and Little Gym class one day a week. That leave Fridays with nothing to do, but I'm sure we'll find plenty to fill that day too.

Well our tickets for for the 10/16 MNSSHP came in, BUT they're children's tickets. :confused3 Somehow I doubt David and I can pass for 3-9 year olds. And Ian is young enough that he still doesn't need a ticket. Guess who's making a phone call in the morning...
Sorry to hear you also had a MNSSHP ticket mixup. I called this morning and they told me to send the tickets back with a little note that I want to exchange them for a different date. Now I will sit back and worry until I get those tickets in my hot little hand!! :worried:

Jeff - Put us down as a maybe for the Yachtsman Steakhouse. It is someplace DH and I have always wanted to try. :wave2:

Jeff - I never knew that they had a private room. The only night we would be free in October is the Friday before the cruise. We've got plans for the other nights. That is also the day we are getting in so not sure what kind of shape we'll be in, but if you decide on that date let us know. We love Yachtsman!

Jeff

What a nice idea! I am affraid October is pretty booked up with the fireworks cruise, MNSSHP, DVC Cruise, etc. We are flying in on Friday and I hate to make plans because we are infamous for trying to get bumped for FREE airfare. I hope DVC has a pre-cruise party again this year @ PI on Saturday. Thanks for asking!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAREN

:cheer2: :bday: :woohoo: :cake: :woohoo: :bday: :cheer2:

Congratulations to Brooke and Karen

(I hope I did not miss anyone)
