Ilene - I hear you! We did Palo last year on our 2nd night (I think) instead of Parrot Cay and while it was great we felt we missed out so this year we are trying for brunch on sea day (with 4000 others ;) ) so we'll see. I figure we can book it - if possible - and then cancel if we have something else to do.

My plan too!

Provided my friend Diana can get us in for brunch. Diana's taken pity on me and is helping book our reservations for us as we'll be at Hilton Head and computerless. Not every friend would be up during the middle of the night for someone else. :)

Uh....maybe. which one?

Oh how quickly you forget :lmao: My suggestion was Minnie. It is a Disney name, she is a tiny (or mini dog), and it would be short for the Miniute Pie Mold that Karen's dad sells.

Cindy - looks like I'll be out your way tomorrow. Just found out that the Mother of an old friend from grammer school passed away and is being waked out in Schaumburg tomorrow night.

Sorry to hear that, Mary. Let's see, in Schaumburg you'll either be on Golf Road or Roselle Road. Want to meet for dinner afterwards/before?

Would love to but by 5:30 Saturday we hope to be getting to our hotel in TN and meeting up with relatives. We'll be with you in spirit!

GMTA!

You did not post that right before me, did you.

Julie, look at that.....double spirit wishes! :cool1:

AWWW she is just too cute. Any ideas what she "is". It's hard to tell from the picture but I thought lab and dachshund. Definately some lab in there the white star on the chest and the shape of the eyes/face are a dead giveaway but her body looked long and low. Maybe just the view from the picture. How old is she?
My babies turn 2 tomorrow! Sully is named for Sully from Monsters and Taffy is named because she is just so sweet.

Her mom was a 15# beagle they say, and they had her listed as a beagle/lab mix. She looks a lot like my dad's dog that died of cancer who was a lab mix. I think this one will be smaller though. She's about 10 weeks old now. :)

Seems like she's liking people....she cries and barks when she's alone. My mom just called to tell me KT has a fever ( ) and the dog is laying in bed with her!! I nearly went through the roof. ALL OF MY DOGS GROWING UP WEREN"T EVEN ALLOWED UPSTAIRS, MUCH LESS IN BED WITH ME!!! My mom assures me it's just for a little while and the pup won't sleep there tonight!

Oh, duh. Yeah, ya know why that one slipped my mind was b/c at that point we thought the dog was a BOY! :) I remember thinking that I liked the name, too bad it was a boy.

Emailing my dad now with that idea.. :)

And speaking of Crocs---did I tell you guys I got a pair of Athens flip flops about a month or so ago and I haven't worn another pair of shoes since! (besides my sneakers at the gym)

I have to break down and wear regular shoes on Friday because we have to go to a Polo match :rolleyes2 on Friday night. I don't think theyd appreciate my crocs there too much.

I bought a pair too and I love them. This is about the only shoe I've worn all summer too. The big bonus was that I could buy a woman's size 10. It felt good to buy such a small size. :rotfl2: I usually have to try to find size 12, which is really hard to find.

It is on Roselle - 800 S. I'd love to meet up for dinner. I'm going to be on my own as I plan on leaving work early and hearding over about 3:30 pm (so I think I'll be there about 4:30pm and can stay until 5 or 5:30). What time would you be free and when/where would you like to meet up?

I'm not very good in flip flops but between my Nile Crocs and my Beach ones I'm pretty happy. I'm definately bringing them on the cruise with me and for WDW.

Michael's. Not far from my house. I hope they have improved their services there. I have never been as angry at a funeral as when my nephew passed away. He was in the Air Force at the time and there is no arguing with the military. His wake/funeral was a full military one and the military has their way of doing things. The owner of the funeral home was disgraced by the way the military was doing their thing. Stood there shaking his head is disgust. :furious: I will never forget that!

Anyway.....

I work until 5 so anytime after that would be great. Let me think, picky eater friend of mine. Do you eat Italian? Just a little south of there is a pretty good restaurant -- Riccardo's. Does that work for you? I could meet you there between 5:15-5:30?

If not, let me know, we'll go to plan B.

Hi all!

Karen, I think that pup is such an adorable thing. I love Mary's idea for a name too. Seems fitting in many ways. I don't know, sometimes it takes a bit for the "real" name to emerge. She will probable fit one soon.

Hey all you crafty people! I have the "shoe in" for the new trip flip flops! I was given the assignment tonight to put together a set for our Relay for Life sales. The rage around here is to put fleece strips on them. Look what I did:

These are a child's size on my adult foot but you get the "idea."
They are easy to make and won't we all look stunning as we witness The Wedding!

Those are ADORABLE!!!! And I love that they are in lime green!!

That's all the rage in the Cleveland area?? Where you can wear flip flops 2 months out of the year? :lmao: or does the fleece keep your feet warmer.

Do tell how you attached the fleece, please. :)

My goodness, I leave for a little while to work on Cheryl's CJ and I miss a whole 2 pages!!

Let's see---the puppy is adorable and my vote goes for Minnie. It fits her.

Cindy--now that you've told everyone I was booking for you, there's more pressure on me!! If I don't get everything you want, everyone will know it's all my fault! And heaven forbid I oversleep! :scared1:

And I was all excited to buy the size 8s since I usually wear a 10! :lmao: I got the off white with orange footbeds. I'd get another pair, but I'm in love with the new "Scutes" and "Off Roads" so I see 2 more pairs in my very near future!

Right now I have 4 pairs-- Lime and Sea Blue Beach ones, Pink Niles and Orange/Cream Athens.

:rotfl2: you guys will look grand!

The wedding is at 5:30 pm on Saturday and you all are welcome to crash!

I'll be flying home at that time too. Speaking of crashers, when we got married, I hadn't even thought about how "open" all the locations are. You're going to have all the people on their balconies looking down at you, so be prepared for that. We had little kids with their noses pressed up against their doors watching, not to mention the folks on the ferry going to the MK clapping and whistling during our ceremony.

Are you going to share any details at all with us? I know the reception location was top secret, but what about colors, flowers, bridal party?

Had to share the news over here. After much looking and some heartbreak (a petfinder person gave the puppy earmarked for my parents to someone else) my parents found a new puppy.....
IN TENNESSEE!!! Not a big deal if they LIVED in TN, but they live near Cleveland....and the dog was near MEMPHIS!!! only about a 10 hour drive.....for a MUTT.....
She's little, and scrawny (had to compete with 28 other dogs for food) and a bit timid, but she's coming around. My parents stopped by with her today on the way home from TN and took my kids for the week too.....

IMG_3593.jpg

IMG_3589.jpg

She's nameless as of now. The shelter had her named Katie, but that just WON'T do!!! (my dd's name is Katie, for those who don't know) Any suggestions....
so far we have:
Smokey (TN reference)
Dolly (TN again)
Belle (b/c she's a southern belle, plus a Disney reference)
TiNy (b/c she IS and b/c it has TN in it!)
Pringle (b/c the Pringles chip plant is in Jackson, TN---where they got her from)
Madison or Maddie (b/c Jackson, TN is in Madison County)

Anyone???
Well, of course, I'm partial to Madison!!!:thumbsup2

Those are cute! I just got a pair of flip-flops in the mail today from one of my scrapbook buddies for my birthday. They are similar, except in pink and she used ribbons tied on. I can't wait to wear them.

Hmmm, we will just be driving home sometime on Saturday! I guess that I'll have to find a place in the background to catch a glimpse of the bride & groom!!

Actually, they are the rage not only in Cleveland area. I first spotted them in Columbus when I was there for the half marathon. There was a huge cheerleading competition going on and almost everyone had them. Some were ribbons, some fleece, all in various widths of fabric. Everyone was having such fun. I brought the idea back for our Relay for Life fundraiser and we have been selling as many as we can make here.

Karen, they are just tied on. Quite easy to do. Even craft-challenged me can handle this project.

Yeah, we wear them indoors for all season gatherings. :rotfl:

Just stoping by to say Hi!
Love the flip flops!
Julie ,I'll have to be there in spirit also. Mike and I fly home Friday.
Cindy where are the scouts camping in Michigan? I use to be a scout master here in my area. Just wondering.
Plans for the week of the cuise.
Fly in on the 20th.We are looking into Yhat Club ,Boardwalk Inn or Old Key West.
Cruise 22-26th.
26th at one of the hotels above that we didn't stay at before the cruise.

These are adorable. I'll show them to Deanna in the morning and see if her and her girlfriends want to make a pair during their summer boredom time.

We did the Relay for Life here in June and I think I saw something like these for sale by some of the teams.

Deanna was rollerblading around the neighborhood this evening and stopped to talk to "this really cool kid" from her school. They were talking and she said to him (in her coolest, I don't want to act like a big baby voice), "I need to go home now, I just got stung by a bee". He said to her "You don't act like you just got stung by a bee", so she showed him the sting mark on her neck. Of course, when she got into the house she acted a bit different - her coolness went out the window. So now she has this really nice welt on her neck. Good thing she isn't allergic to bee stings!
