Big haz-mat incident at the local water Park tonight. Over 30 injured and transported by ambulance. 5-11 box alarm 16 departments involved. A real mess. Some sort of chlorine gas accident in the pool. I was at the station for 2 hours and Coleen got called in to her hospital too. I will post more as it is released

Oh Steve that is such sad news.

I made it to chat tonight--late again, but left without much chat. Don't know why, but I seemed to be freezing. I think we dropped our Internet connection for a bit. I hate when that happens. I don't know how to stop it from happening with our router connection.

Hey everyone - we're back from our trip down to S. Florida. We drove down on Friday evening, and since the girls fell asleep in the car on the way down, they had their second wind when we got there (at 10pm). So, we just visited for a while, and saw my friend's new house. The girls finally fell asleep just after 11pm.

However, they did get up bright and early the next day. Then, we had breakfast and got our things ready for a day on their boat. We packed a picnic lunch and headed to Peanut Island, just off the coast of West Palm Beach. The girls just LOVED the boat. We spent the day there in the water, then since the waters were clear, we headed out into the ocean for a little while. Emily just thought it was a riot going fast out on the ocean waters with the boat bopping up and down in the water. Then, we went back to their house for a BBQ and of course, everyone fell asleep by 10pm.

Today, we got up early again (the girls have an internal alarm clock that never sleeps later than 7am). We hung out, went to lunch at a great Oriental & Sushi Bar and then headed to some local craft stores for a little shopping. Then, back to my friend's house where some other people showed up and we had a BBQ for dinner again. Then, we headed out and just got home. I'm exhausted and have 6 pages of posts to catch up on.

Here I go...

OMG Steve - I hope everyone is okay! Annmarie

Ok, so I finally read through everything! You've been busy!!

Diana - I'll be on my way for the pool party!! I'll pick up some Twisted Tea on my way. See you all there!!!

I'll definitely be up at 3am to book my excursions, but I'm really not sure what we're going to do. Chris wants to parasail, and I've considered taking Emily to do the stingrays. Otherwise, just relaxing a bit!!!

Steve - sorry to hear about the accident! I sure hope everyone is OK!!

I think that's it!!! Now to get to my over 400 emails!!!

Welcome back, Amy!

Anyone think there is a chance they MAY do a Palo brunch one of the days we are at CC? I really do not want to get up at 2 am to book excursions but if that's the plan then that's the plan.

I'm doing the banana boat, I will be shopping some on CC - found a great tshirt last year and cool pop koozies and need to check out the new items. Other than that not sure.... probably a float rental :) wish they had a lazy river ;) lol to float with my konk kooler and relax.

Last year we went to Serenity Bay the CC day and it was already crowded (we waited till after the photo) with no spots in the shade so that didn't work for us so we headed back to the family beach and had better luck and a wonderful time - Matt slept in his chair lol. Could this be due to more adults on the cruise than normal or is that just how it is? I do want to spend some time in the sun but we are pale and need shade to be out there all day. Can we swim at the adult beach or is that a no no?

I need to find out more about the excursion Mary's been posting about, however, Matt's not fond of the water (caught in a riptide long ago in NC and was NOT a good experience so he doesn't really like to get out too far) and I'll want to be close to him in case he does want to get in.

Almost all have been treated and released. Mostly minor skin irritations and slight shortness of breath. Last reports had 2 or 3 still being treated.

Good morning everyone!

Steve - just heard about the water park this morning on the radio. Glad to hear that most have been treated and released. How scary!

Julie - we went over to Serenity Bay after the photo shoot last year as well. We found one set of loungers back off the beach under a broken umbrella (which Mark was able to partly fix. The water wasn't good for snorkeling so we only stayed for an hour or so. There are usually a lot less kids on the Member Cruises so Serenity Bay seems to get more visitors than normal.

Welcome back Amy - sounds like you guys had a great time.

Now that must have been a very scary experience for Matt. Good thing you know all about life saving and can help him if he gets in the water and panics.

With your fair skin, I can't imagine why you need some shade. Nothing like a lobster bride. :scared:

Julie - forgot to address a couple of things in your post. Yes you can swim at Serenity Bay. In may ways I think iti s better swimming than the family beach. However there is no preditor net so you get a lot more visitors. When we were there in May you could walk out very very far to where a lot of the fish were (there is a sunken man made reef there). However last September because of the storms that went though I could barely walk out 10 feet and was up to my neck and the water was all murky from the sand being kicked up. Usually the water is crystal clear there.

Are you talking about the Seahorse Snorkel excursion? From what I hear it is a nice boat ride out to deeper water and then snorkeling out there for an hour or so. Our friends that went are all experienced snorkelers and some are divers. They really enjoyed it.

Ah Amy,
Sounds like a Wonderful weekend. My brother has a house and a boat on Cape Cod and we spend a lot of weekends in the early summer there. He
rents it out from July 5th to just before Labor Day but we get some good times in during May and June usually (this year was cool and rainy though).
I think it's so relaxing because like WDW it gets you completely away from
the HOUSE which calls to you even if you try to relax...can't be done.

I'm going camping in Maine w DD in three weeks and really looking forward to that, the drive isn't too bad (about 2.5hrs) and it's very relaxing. Hope my neck cooperates.

Steve,
Glad the water park event was not as horrible as it could have been and that most have been released.

Hi Ho Hi Ho it's off to work I go.....

OKay! I just tried to add Tom and I to the DVC Family Cruise Gathering 2006 and after I gave all of my information the CM told me she needed to call someone to confirm that I could be added to the reservation! I gave her Roxann's name and all of the information but they wouldn't take my credit card information. I asked if there was still room on the cruise and she couldn't tell me that either. I hope there is still room and we are able to join you. Annmarie
