Good morning. :sunny:

I feel like this today. :sad1: I can't believe my baby is 6. Children grow up so quickly. We certainly don't feel like we are getting older -- but just look at a child to realize just how quickly time flies. Gary & I were :lmao: the other night. We were in the kitchen, Walker was in his room and he walked out here and said "just so you know, I'm going to bed". Gary and I were like, :confused3 what did he just say? Before I could even go in his room to tuck him in, he was sleeping away. It just seemed like such a grown up thing to do. :sad1:

Busy day and weekend for us. Walker's pinewood derby race is tonight. Cameron's is tomorrow. This is Cameron's 5th year building a car and every year up until now he's taken 1st place in his age group. :thumbsup2 Last year, I was SO proud of Cameron as he gave up the 1st place trophy and took a medal in it's place so that the other boys could move up in the ranks and get a trophy. Our pack has always been very good about acknowledging the siblings of the scouts too. Walker has several trophies from his past races. This year, Cameron has a totally different design than he has in the past. And, Walker's car is colored with markers. Defintely unique to his personality.

Walker's party is tomorrow -- right in the middle of Cameron's Pinewood Derby race. 23 kids!! :faint: Good thing it's at a roller rink, so I won't have to do anything but be the Mom and pay the bill. :thumbsup2

Then, Cameron is camping with Boy Scouts outside tomorrow night. :cold: :cold: :cold: :faint: We've hit a cold snap here and they are predicting tomorrow night will be 1-5 degress. :cold: :cold: :cold: It's a requirement for the Arrow of Light and since Cameron recently decided to give Boy Scouts a try, we'd really like him to earn the Arrow of Light. I'm thinking either me or Gary will join the kids for a while, I'd like to get a feel as to what the boys are like. I know of several boys from our den who are going, and after the year we've had and the total lack of respect, I'm hoping the Boy Scouts will calm their attitudes down a bit. Time will tell.

Sunday, I don't know yet but the way this week is going, I'm sure something will come up to take over the entire day. And, I think I have a date at Michael's if the 40% coupon is in the paper. :cool1:

Amy--sounds like you guys had an awesome time! I'm so happy for you guys after your week of illnesses, you deserved it!

Cindy--Mike's should have a coupon this week, I need a stamp cleaner pad thingy, so I'm banking on it!

My Midwest friends---can you please keep your freaky weather out there? We are supposed to get your thunderstorms this morning. Then the winds are supposed to pick up 20-30 mph this morning 50-60 this afternoon, there's saying that's for sustained winds.....gusts over 70 mph!! I feel like I'm getting ready for a hurricane. They are telling everyone to get the wood ready, b/c it's supposed to be 10 degrees and they are expecting many to be without power.....nice......I made a bench to go over my fireplace so the girls didn't kill themselves on it---looks like I'll be prepping that up today as well as looking for batteries and breaking out the candles. In 1998 I lived through the great ice storm of Plattsburgh. I was without power for 21 days, it took months before I got cable and a telephone back. I hate living without power even for a minute since that time, but I sure do know how to prepare!

21 days without power. :crazy2: :crazy2: :faint:

Did you stay in the house without power?

We had an ice storm here several years ago (before Cameron was born -- I'm thinking 1993-early 1994) that knocked our power out for 3 days. Not only that, but evidently we were having problems with the sewer line with roots growing in there and didn't know it. When the power was out and we had no heat, the pipe froze where it met the house and backed up into the house. I came down the hall to find sewer water all over. :scared1: That was enough for me, we packed it up and went to a hotel.

I can't imagine 21 days without power.

Yup, we stayed in the house. About 10 days in, FEMA gave us a generator, but we were only able to run our heater and the old lady next doors heater off it. We had wires set up across our driveway, in the ice, and we lived on the lake, so where was water everywhere, not the safest thing in my book. That was January of 1998......I left my ex-husband in March......that long a time without any sort of modern day conveniences made me realize he wasn't the guy for me. :lmao:

Amy sounds like you had a great trip. I sure hope Ducky does come on the cruise with us. I really hope the dinning works out...it sounds like so much fun. That was the only part of the last cruise that was a letdown. We had a bad asst. server and I thought the other couples at our table fell asleep a few times during dinner. They really didn't like to talk and took forever to eat.

Good luck to Cameron and Walker. That really sound like fun.

The weather here has been really crazy the last 24 hours. Last night it was 54 degrees at 9 pm with really crazy winds, rain and thunderstorms. Today the wind chill is 2 and it is just starting to snow. I hope the winds die down because we are going to Battle Creek today for the girls gymnastics meet this weekend.

I have been really busy this last week helping out friends that are starting a new gymnastics program. My girls coaches are opening a gym next week and we have been helping. This gym is amazing and I can't wait for the girls to see it. I think all the girls from their team is changing gyms and going with the coaches. Their old gym is old and not in the best shape and the owner did not really care about the coaches or the kids. She only cared about her dance team. I think she is now regretting it since there will not be any gymnasts left. I am so sore from putting equipment together that I can barely move.

Yes crazy weather here in Chicago yesterday and it sounds like Michigan got hit hard as well. Here's hoping it breaks up before it hits the East coast.

Cindy - good luck to the boys and have fun with weekend!

I have a few updates to make to the web page this weekend. I apologize to those who have sent me info that I haven't gotten up yet. I'll work on that tonight. Been trying to help the May group with t-shirt designs.

Good morning everyone!!! Wow, it was nice to sleep in my own bed, that's for sure!!!

We did end up booking a 7-night Western cruise while on board for 2007. We're scheduled for 4/21/07. It will celebrate Chris's 40th birthday and Madison's 3rd birthday!! Anyone else interested??? We couldn't pass it up, because we got a special Castaway Club coupon book in our stateroom and it had a coupon for an extra $50 onboard booking credit.

And, we also realized that we like the category 10 staterooms. They seem to have more storage than some of the other categories. We had a double steamer trunk and a bench where we stored our shoes. It wasn't too bad getting used to no sunlight. We always set our alarm clocks for early in the AM, and just got up, showered and were out the door.

Emily loved sleeping on the top bunk, and Madison did well on the bottom bunk!! We got our stateroom host, Cesar to bring us a bed rail for Maddie, and she just loved sleeping there. Now, Emily wants a bunkbed for home!!

Emily went back to school today! I figured that since she has Monday off, I would send her to school to see her friends and tell about her trip. However, Chris decided not to go to work today. He figured that work can wait until Monday. He's going to try to do some more work on our master bathroom remodel.

Oh Cindy - I can totally relate to how fast kids grow up. Madison is getting close to 2, and it just seems like I was pregnant the other day. They really do grow up quickly. Hugs to you and your family as you enjoy Walker's birthday celebration.

Good Luck with this weather Diana - the winds have been blowing all night and still this morning. It's suppose to die down around 11:00 am. Wow and the tempature drop was unbelievable :scared1: Wind Chill right now is about 8. Tell me again why I continue to live here!

Cindy sounds like you guys have a full weekend again. Good luck to the boys in the Pinewood Derby.

Diana - I can't believe that you survived that long without power and in the middle of winter!!! :cold: :cold: :cold: I know that when we had the hurricanes 2 years ago, our neighbors across the street were without power for at least a week. It was weird how one side of the street had power, and the other side didn't. Anyway, there were tons of extension cords running across the street sharing power.

Amy.....thanks for doing some preliminary leg work on the dining! Sounds like you had an awesome cruise. I hope Ducky does come on the SSMC06 because his was the one presentation that I missed on SSMC05!

Cindy...hope your guys stay warm on their campout! Since DH and I only have girls, I don't know much about the Boy Scouts, but I remember when I was in high school hearing my guy friends talk about camping in the snow, and it gave me the shivers! :cold:

Mary....poor thing! She's :music: torn between two cruises :music:. Website for us, T-shirts for the other....if only I had that problem!!

Well, I have TONS of laundry to do today!!! :crazy2: :crazy2: :crazy2: I'm not looking forward to it, but it needs to be done, right?!?!?

No chat for me tonight. Chris and I are going to a Bon Jovi concert. YES, I'm a girl of the 80s. I admit it!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

It seems like just a year or so ago that I was getting my 3 older ones off to kindergarten. Now they are all in college. My oldest turned 22 in December and she wants to know what happened to her years of 18 through 21! :rotfl:

It's a tough life isn't it? :lmao: Actually i'm doing pages for both groups but I love doing it. We are down to the point on the May cruise that we need to get the shirts ordered and we are trying to finalize the design and how many colors etc. to use.

Lucky lady!!! :cheer2: But, I feel better now that I got my fix. Now, I can wait until October! And, knowing that I have another one for next April makes it that much easier to get through the next year or so!!!
