Cindy - here is hoping for a much better week at your place!

I made a commitment today to go back to the WISH board and to get back on track losing weight. I joined WW online back in late '03 and was pretty successful to start (lost almost 25 lbs). Then life got busy, I slipped and the weight came back. I've tried to restart many times but just didn't feel the commitment. Well today is the day. So I'm back to logging my points, I'm going to get back on the treadmill at night and I'm committed to making this work.

I know Amy has been working at being heathier as well. Lily is a moderator over at the WISH board as well.

I saw one of the double dip groups has got a thread over there doing group support. Anyone from this group want to give it a try with me? We could also do it here since this has become home to so many of us. Just thinking if I know my DVC buddies are doing it that I could be more successful. So what do you think?

GMTA!

I just joined an on-line program with Denise Austin yesterday. My biggest problem is no exercising - I hate exercising - never had to do it before, don't want to do it now! :rotfl2: But it looks like I will have to change all that - not that it will be easy.

:cheer2: :cheer2: to those who are up for the challenge.

I've never exercised, I've always hated it and hated people who did it! :rotfl2: The twilight zone moment of this all is, and Stacy learned this Friday night, my new years resolution (well, it has 3 parts) was to go to the Y at least 4 times a week. So 4 weeks in, I've gone 5-6 times a week! :cheer2: And the scary thing is, i've been doing these classes I never in a million years would have thought I'd do or even could do. And I'm actually having fun doing it!!

And yes, Stacy, after leaving the crop at almost midnight, I was at step class at 8am! :woohoo:

Here's to a quiet week in Cindy's household!!!!! :cheer2:

Yes, Cindy you definitely need a nice quiet week in your house!

Now today, my house will be a zoo. I'm hosting our moms club new member tea. I have 10 adults and 14, yup count'em 14 kids under 3 coming here at 11. I really wish I still smoked, because I could use a cigarette by the time they all leave! :smokin:

Well, Mary, I knew there was a reason I still haven't cancelled the gym membership. So, count me in too! :thumbsup2 I really need to motivate myself to get out of bed at 5, head to the gym, work out, shower and get home before Gary leaves for work about 6:30ish. I know I can do it, it's just the thought of getting going that's stopping me. So, maybe a little incentive is what I need. :cheer2:

I joined the WISH board a while ago, in fact, one of the first months, I won the "creative exercise" award. I had taken the kids to the park, and while I was pushing the babies in the baby swings, I wondered if I could make it around the little paved circle they have around our playground before the babies stopped. So, I gave them a push and took off walking fast. I made it before they stopped.....they were all smiles as I came around the bend. So, I did it again. And again. Before long, the older kids stopped played and watched me. Then they joined in my race around the circle. I don't remember how many times we did this, but I know I got some exercise and we all had fun.

Maybe Gary & I should have put some skates on and roller skated with the kid's yesterday. But, somehow the thought of my 5 year old holding me up is one that I'm not ready to experience....just yet. :lmao: I know we'll be back there in a couple weeks for Walker's birthday party, maybe I'll try it then. :teeth:

:cheer2: :cheer2: Congrats to you, Diana!!! That is awesome that you've been exercising SO regularly!! I need to get that motivation. I'm doing pretty well with eating better, but I haven't been that good at exercising with regularity.

Diana, good for you! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I have a confession. When I first read this, I read it to be you have gone 5-6 times since the first of the year. NOT 5-6 times a WEEK! That's fastastic. I'm glad everyone else picked up on that, because I feel like a schmuck right now for missing it. :guilty:

Way to go! :smooth:

Hi everyone! Popping in for a minute to try and catch up.

The baby shower went well - dd give us a scare earlier in the week and was in the hospital for a day but she needs to take it easy and not stress (but, I'm always stressing so she probably gets that from me). But dd did enjoy her baby shower and she got some of the neatest stuff that I've never seen for babies before.

The journals look great - I love to look at all the talent we have here!

Sorry I missed both chats but with out of town company coming to the shower I was very, very busy. My sis came from Delaware and dd's sister-in-law even came from San Francisco! So there was a lot of visiting going on all weekend. Today I get my life back (I think  ) and will be checking in more regularly. Trying to find a little bit of time to escape from Michigan but that's doubtful.

Need to get to my emails :surfweb: this morning and get cleaning up the house.

Hi Mary - thanks for checking in with us. Sorry to hear about your DD's scare but sounds like she is back on track now. Chat both nights were fund but you didn't miss much (but we missed you).

Yeah! It sounds like a number of us have made a pledge for a happier healthier new year. Diana I'm so proud of you - working out is what I need to focus on!

So do we want to just keep discussions here or should we start our own thread over on WISH. I'm up for whatever the group wants. Nice to know I don't have to do this on my own!

I'm for a thread over on the WISH board.

I've never been over there, so I guess now's the time to check it out.

I'm thinking we could title it "Getting Ship Shape for SSMC06"

What do you guys think?

I also signed up for the February exercise challenge. I kept my commitment low (only 600 minutes) but realistic.

Glad to hear the shower was a success - now you and your dd can spend the next few weeks relaxing while waiting for the baby. Stress time is over :sunny:

Cool title!

I'll wait and hear what the others think and if feedback is for WISH (witch I think would work best) I'll set up a thread over there tonight. Or if anyone wants to start it this afternoon be my guest.

Hey, Mary, what's with the witch? :stir:

Mary, I think it fits better over on the WISH board. Then not everyone has to read about how well we did, or how bad we did, depending on everyones situation.

I love your title! :thumbsup2

Too funny. Guess I had this on my mind. :maleficen

Just back from Mom's. Mom is doing ok. We won't know about the cancer report untill friday.
Diana way to go!
Mary glad to see your daughter is back home! Hope she stays calm untill it's time. :wizard:
I'm trying to start loosing weight . I'm up to posting on the wish board! :thumbsup2 I need all the help I can get. ;)

I'm up for a thread on the WISH board for SSMC06. I've been logging my progress with another group weekly of our weight loss, but I can definitely use 2 groups to keep me accountable.

Sounds great to me! I love the title too!

My playgroup didn't leave until 3. It lasted 4 hours! :scared: And I've worked for an hour and still don't have the entire basement cleaned up. I really wish I could find a way to keep them all contained to the basement, because my family room also looks like a war zone. I'm exhausted and I'm only half done. And it's not just toys, it's crumbs, and in my house for some bizarre reason, once a crumb drops on the floor every ant in my town comes over for dinner. We have an exterminator but my ants are invincible. You aren't supposed to have ants in the winter!! I think the word is out that the food is plentiful at my house. Guess I need to keep working. :yay: I skipped Power Pump class today b/c of this, and I got more than my usual workout so far. :yay:
